PERSONAL PROFILE As a graduate student of industrial design, it ’s always exciting to develop a product. When I found some situation or need that can use design to improve, I would studied correlated information about it first, and try to develop a better way to solve it. I have always been fascinated by the process of ideation, think interesting way and beautiful appearance for a product. In addition, using different knowledge and skills in design, like usability and user experience, can help me identify the reason of user ’s difficulties, or understand the performance of a product. And I love to discuss or create beautiful, interesting products with people, that’s the most fun part. Above all, I enjoy the process of designing a product, and I am still interested in most of creative field which help me to get more new information. I hope I can continue to explore the interesting side of the world through design. -Born on 23rd March, 1992, Taitung, Taiwan. EMAIL/ yichiachien@gmail.com TEL/ +886 963-165023

Source: Transport and Environment based on ACEA Because of the flexibility of urban EV and the acceptance of people, we likes to sale the urban electric car into europe. Europe is the world’s second biggest market, aided by strong sales in Norway and the Netherlands. According to European Federation for Transport and Environment, electro-mobility offers an unequalled solution to make Europe’s transport more efficient and less polluting. In 2015, sales of electric cars reached the important milestone of a 1% market share. Overall electric car sales doubled in 2015 to 145,000. Sales year to date suggest significantly more than 200,000 plug-in vehicles will be sold in Europe this year taking the total number of EVs on the road to more than 500,000.

It ’ s g r e at f o r a s h o r t tr ip. We try to develop an electric vehicle which is suitable for a short trip. They can provide a way for many individuals to shorten their walking time and simplified the short trip with the convenience of driving a small car and reaching their destination, especially for mothers and eldely. Mothers can drive their children to school or go shopping, and the lower speed limit is safe for driving by elderly. Urban EVs provide a shelter from rain and wind, and with flexibility to be drived in alleys easily. People can put more stuff in their EVs than on bicycles.

T his sketch was my proposal at that time, although it didn’t be selected in the end, it was a wonderful experience to me to involve in exterior design stage. Besides exterior ideation, we studied ergonomic of automotive design to find out the interior design point and limitations we need to pay attention to.

Ready-To-Assemble (RTA) furniture saves manufacturers' shipping costs, while consumers satisfied having furniture with a reasonable price. However, a problem was reported in the last few years according to the traders: the difficulties of assembling a RTA furniture that frustrates the user of younger generation caused a significant increase of sales returns. As the user's spatial abilities and understanding vary from person to person, even with the assembly instructions to help, if not clearly convey the information, user will feel confused, and assembly errors may happen.

This is the first time I am in charge of a project. Frankly, it was a little bit hard for me, especially the communication part. To be a project manager, I communicated with the company, professor, and partners frequently, however, it’s hard to make everyone happy in the same time. But when we saw the result of this project, we all feel a great accomplishment. We used the knowledge of user experience design to explore the process of assembling furniture, and found some problem. Thanks to all my partners, it was a valuable experience for me. 33

The gap between holes and bristles can push hair out, and the shape of holes prevent the hair from stucking in the gap.
There are different length bristles which with similar curvature of the plastic sheet, that make the plastic sheet can push out all of the hair on it.

Lost
In fact, when a fire happened, it ’s difficult to see the front, it ’s dark and ridden with smoke. Trapped people difficult to escape, and made firefighters lost . In the fireman's self-help training, one of the tools to evacuate the fire is to follow the water hose, groping the direction of exports. But the worst situation, that is, no water inside the water hose, that’s hard to grab. And the trapped people do not know the escape method, and it is not clear which direction of the water hose can lead to exports.

Problem When people watching movies, the sight of petite audiences and children often be blocked by the front audience. According to our observation, found that the audience height need to be about 159 cm or more in order to avoid the problem. BIN
Pr o bl e m It has been observed that the volume and quantity of the public trash bin accommodate many rubbish, but the trash can easily be filled in a short period of time because the people often put in large volumes of garbage, such as lunch boxes and beverage cups that are not yet flattened. This problem is not only hinder the city, more likely to breed mosquitoes, affecting the health environment.

Concept General garbage can be reduced by about 40% after compression. If everyone throws garbage at the same time compress garbage volume, will effectively improve the trash bin fulling problems. Through the internal design of <S ² Bin> , the action of stepping to open the bin can compress garbage, so that the internal space of the trash bin can be fully utilized.
I n t h e c a s e of n o u s e , t h e i n p u t of the <S² Bin> is closed, and t h e i n te r n a l w a s te i s ke p t i n t h e squeeze state.
When user steps the pedal, the internal compression of the garbage mechanism will go to the top cover, then the input is open, able to throw garbage into it.

PRODUCT DESIGN - RAIN POWER
WAT E R S H OR TA GE P ROB LE M IN TA IWA N
In Taiwan , we have abundant rainfall but can’t be fully used. Over 80% of rainwater flows into ocean because of our geographical features - short river and steep terrain . Another thing is that the rainfall spreads unequally in Taiwan’s cities during the four seasons . Hence , if we can capture every drop , it would be enough for the region.
