This Friday, August 20, the Artists Association of Nantucket’s Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery will open its doors on the 72nd Annual Artist/Patron Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display through Monday, September 6 in the gallery at 19 Washington Street.

“Truly one of AAN’s longest standing traditions, summer of 2021 marks the 72nd year we’ve featured the celebrated Artist/Patron exhibition,” said AAN artistic director Robert Frazier. “Historically our artists bring in their strongest works for this special exhibition, which we consider one of the high points of our gallery season. We are proud to showcase our local artist member’s newest works and look forward to a robust exhibition,” added Frazier.

Winners of the 2021 Artist-Patron Awards, decided August 16 at the AAN’s Annual Meeting, are Alison Smith—Robert C. McDougall Award to Promising New Artist, Barbara Capizzo—William Welch Painting Award, Nelli O’Gara—Hal Gomeau Patron Award, Elizabeth Buccino—George Smith Artist Volunteer Award, Tracy Ann Daily—Randy M. “This year due to the on-going pandemic, we are adhering to best safety practices and all visitors entering the gallery must wear a face covering or mask for the safely of our guests and staff,” said AAN gallery manager Peter J. Greenhalgh.

Artists/Patron exhibition will be on display from August 20 – September 6 at the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street - in the heart of Nantucket’s Cultural District. The gallery is open, Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and 2:30 to 5 pm. Sunday hours are 11 am to 2 pm.
