The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a China-led international financial institution created to offer finance to infrastructure projects as part of China’s Silk Road initiative, with a focus on bolstering links across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. The building has 16 floors in total and the sahpe is changed by the concept of Bagua. My Work: Mainly participated in the Construction Administration phase. Worked on all floor plans and elevations and sections. Worked on the design of the auditorium. Worked on the post-production of final renders.

The building was designed in 1987 by Hartman Cox and has a strong, classical architectural style. The lobby and common area finishes are somewhat “tired�. It would be desirable to renovate and upgrade the areas of scope with a respectful acknowledgement of the original design, but execute a strategic approach to integrate artwork, lighting and finishes that will enhance the building for decades to come. My Work: Mainly participated in the Design Developement phase. Worked on ground floor lobby updates, central atrium renovation, ground floor connecting corridors and elevator cab finishes.

The building is prominently located on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets, NW. Its monumental location and size are deserving of respect.

03 Warren at Bay [Mixed-Use Building] GRO Architects | 2019 - 2020 130 BAY STREET JERSEY CITY 07302

The Warren at Bay project was one of the more heralded developments in the Powerhouse Arts District when it was approved almost half a decade ago. The design is to remodel and enlarge the existing building, rehabitating the structure into offices in the upper floors, with 11,900 square feet of restaurant space and retail spaces on the ground floor. My Work: Participated in the Historical Preservation Committee Drawing set, 100% Construction Documents set accomplishment, ground floor lobby design, exterior and interior renders post - production,working in line with lighting consultant, meeting with clients and consultants.

BUILDING NIGHT RENDER To preserve the two seperate buildings and give new function to each building, the transparent core in between works as a connection without breaking the historical language of the existing buildings.

PROPOSED BUILDING SECTION

LOBBY ELEVATION EAST The ground lobby has very important first impression for people entered in. Preserving the load bearing wall on the left is to preserve the history of this building. With the graphitti on, people can read the local story of it. My task is to balance the historic and modern elements in the design. I worked closely with lighting consultant to give this lobby an elegant light quality.

669 bergen is a residential project. The site falls within the scatter site redevelopment plan and bergen hill historic district, underlying zoning is neiborhood commercial. The building is set back 15 feet in the front, providing the retail space a sunken plaza. The building is designed 6-stories with a set back of 5 feet on the 6th floor. My Work: Developed and designed the entire project through Preliminary Design phase. Worked on floor plans, sections, elevations and construction details. Participated in the Planning Board set submission.

The Red Hook Container Terminal sits at the crux of redevelopment in Brooklyn. As an active harbor, the container terminal represents the closest shipping terminal to Manhattan and one of only a handful still located within the city limits, but it is under threat of being decomissioned. Our proposition to redevelop the Red Hook Container Terminal looks to both embrace the development in the area and preserve the warehousing and distribution capacity of the neighborhood.

ANALOG MODEL The first two pictures shows the initial concept of the design, which are two seperated train lines. The higher train line is for cargo and package transportation, and the lower one is for traverllers. These two train lines are connected by several loop circulations, which allow people to interact with packages at several points.

CONCEPT MAPPING Development in the neighborhood has increased to the point that Governor Cuomo has endorsed a plan to bring subway service to Red Hook via an extension of the 1 train, and another proposal looks to bring streetcars through the neighborhood. Reimagining the container terminal as a distribution hub that embraces crowdsourcing and its potential to rethink shipping, we look to utilize the many transit opportunities present to energize and facilitate this new idea of shipping. Through having subways, ferries, city bikes, cars, and their own two feet at their disposal, crowdsourcing delivery becomes an effective way to cut down on the hierarchical nature of the current delivery system, eliminate a large share of delivery truck traffic, and put two things in proximity to each other that just make sense: packages that need to go places and people that are going there.

T R A N S P O R TAT I O N AND THE MOBILITY O F PA S S E N G E R S A N D F R E I G H T The mobility of passengers and freight has very different spatial dynamics. While the intensity of passenger transportation is dominantly focused on short distances, freight transportation includes a wide range of ranges. The great majority of passengers movements are related to commuting, shopping and recreation. These movements are dominantly bound by the time constraints of individuals who are unwilling to spend more than one hour per day commuting. Unlike passengers, most cargo does not have acute time constraints, although some like perishables do. This means that the intensity of freight movements has a much more significant variety of geographical conditions. While waste disposal and local distribution have a limited range, it is at the level of commodity and supply chains that the highest intensity is observed.

2ND FLOOR PLAN A transit hub includes shipping port, train station that allows traverllers move between Brooklyn and New York, and deliver packages around.


RECEIVING Goods are brought in via barges from neighboring ports in New Jersey. Routing through these ports allows the parcels to be broken down and sorted into a manageable scale for distribution.

INTAKE Goods from the barge are uploaded into the vertical warehousing system via vertical lift shafts. Densified storage allows for quicker access and more capacity, and lifting the warehousing off of the ground keeps it off of the floodplain and makes room for pedestrians.

SCALED DISTRIBUTION Utilizing different modes of public transit as well as crowdsourced distribution methods, the hub brings together pedestrian transit and package delivery to streamline both processes.

BUILDING LONG SECTION

PICK UP Package pickup at one of the vertical conveyors is simple, with a phone application directing you to the proper conveyor at the proper time for pickup.

DISPERSAL Packages leave the hub through a variety of means - on bike, train, ferry, car or by foot. The ability of the hub to connect packages with people and transportation redefines shipping and commuting at the same time.

The economic and political maelstrom in neighboring Venezuela has forced thousands of people to flee into Brazil in search of food, medicine and basic survival. The self-sustainable building is created for refugees coming from Venezuela mostly and other countries who are looking for a long stay in Philadelphia and develop themselves a better future. And as they plans to stay here for a long time, this building and the people living inside are considered as invasion to the original society. The entire design wants to attract people’s attention on it and make people reconsider the role of refugee in the society.

BUILDING EXPLODE AXONOMETRIC Different Types of unit are designed for different orientation and arrangemnt on different levels. People have several main access to the unit according to the types. The bedroom can be pushed outside for more space, providing possibilities for various activities and so on. Each unit has an individual human waste collection system ouside the bathroom, which move all the human waste to the waste processing room on each floor and then transfer down to the ground floor. Nutrients for plants and fodder for chicken can be made out of it.

Tencent, as the top tech company in the world is growing rapidly. As the new Tech Campus of Tencent is located in Shenzhen, Qianhai Bay area, the challange is to fullfill the need of Tencent and introduce the urban culture of Shenzhen into the site at the same time. Enfilade is used to originally used to design rooms of the art gallery. A group of spaces can be designed into a row with each space opening into the next one. The Infilade is adressed here with a main street going through the site and create the alternation between compression and expansion. With living, working, education, reacteation and convetion all conencted by this enfilade, people can explore different spacial experience on campus.
