DESIGNER’S STATEMENT
6
Yingjun was born and raised in Hubei
Province, China. After graduating from high school, I have one year of study experience at BCIT. I studied the concept of design, drafting skills, space planning, material selection, building 3-D models, and millwork detailing. At LaSalle College, I studied Commercial design, such as corporate design. During my college career, I devoted my passion to interior design. I love the various possibility of design, and I enjoy the process of creation. I am a photography and travel enthusiast. During my travels around the world, the landscapes and cultural landscapes I photographed are the sources of my design inspiration. The process of travelling is also the process of my exploring the world. Through continuous exploration, my design will be more diversified. I will actively and subconsciously incorporate multi-cultural elements into my design and reproduce the world’s beauty through multi-element design.

Concept Statement
Toronto is always the first choice for Chinese immigrants, so Toronto has a very high proportion of the Chinese population. Therefore, the design theme storyline is developed around “Back to Home”, which makes each of the customers enjoying the journey to China, and allows customers to feel their back to home. The feature wall with strong visual impact, artistic architecture, and urban landmarks convey the traditional influence of “happiness jewelry” in the world. Inspired by the complex lines of traditional Chinese architecture, the interior design contrasts sharply with delicate, natural textures and strange hand ornaments. The store interior walls are made of wood processed into different textures and tones as the building materials, which reflects the traditional century-old Chinese architecture. Remove all complex colors and decorations, leave minimal furnishings, and use rustic colors and natural wood to create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Let busy customers feel their peaceful time when they finding their “Exclusive jewelry”.

Concept Statement The concept of the apartment is “tree rings”. Open space concept is important for apartment, it is can help to enlarge the space visually. In the design, plenty of natural material and brown colours will be used for producing the whole space. They can match with the different shades of brown colours such as beige and white. Brown will be the main colours in the space. White and beige matching together like the light and dark wood grain, creating a strong contrast and soft feeling. White colour can use in the most of the cabinets and countertop. Also, brown can be used in the furniture. It is a perfect contrast with the white. These two colours make the whole space mystical feeling and blends into our daily life. Using a lot of texture tiles and fabrics to connect with the concept. Therefore, people can feel the peaceful and comfortable because of the natural combination.

Concept Statement
Tetris Puzzle inspires Co-working space design. Different puzzles are closely related to each other, but at the same time, they can create countless possibilities. Different spaces are independent areas like in a co-working space, but it can’t lose any of each area, and they form a close connection. The interior space is inspired by the modern rustic style with a warm, peaceful, and inviting feeling. The space is filled with natural sustainable materials such as wood flooring and durable fabric upholsteries. Bringing the rustic atmosphere to the interior space, each room will be focusing on the undulating rhythms of the neutral palette to reinforce the essential character of the space. The architectural and interior eloquently express the play of active lifestyle elements.
