Fall 2016 UC Walking Tour This project was an individual work and it was also my ďŹ rst semester project. I was asked to do a walking tour of University of Cincinnati. After I walked through the university of cincinnati, I picked four walking centers for visitors to take a rest and learn more UC culture. Then, I was think about the route that can let visitors to see the school completely. I did not make a long distance tour because I thought the tour need to be distinctively not tediously.

by yiyi Wang

The University of Cincinnati offers students a balance of educational excellence and real-world experience. UC is a public research university with an enrollment of more than 44,000 students and has been named “Among the top tier of the Best National Universities,” according to U.S. News & World Report. This walking tour is including sixteen buildings visiting and walking through five main green opening spaces. Sixteen buildings includes different college of UC and most popular public buildings of UC. Sixteen buildings were chose by UC students. (I asked the UC formal students that which buildings is the most beautiful one and wants to invite friends or families to visit it.) So this walking tour is the best choice for the new students or future students and their families and friends to visit the most beautiful campus and be the part of UC students. Now let’s start the walking tour and find more beautiful views belongs to the University of Cincinnati.

UC shuttle is also the important part of this walking tour. It makes convenience for people who do not own cars or do not like to drive cars. So this walking tour is going through shuttle stops.Visitors can take the shuttle in process of the walking tour to visit the surroundings of UC campus and then go back to visit the last tour. View all the routes schedule and routes operating in real time via GPS, please following the link below. http://www.uc.edu/af/facilities/services/shuttle.html

Spring 2017 Columbia-Tusculum This project was a team work, it was focus on the neighbor of Cincinnati. We picked the Columbia-Tusculum as our object of study in my second semester project. We researched Columbia-Tusculum as linkability, issues and opportunities, historic signiďŹ cance, walkability, and typologoes. In this project, we used Arcmap GIS, Sketch-up, Photoshop, Indesign and Adobe Illustrator to integrate information maps. The most data were from the Social Explorer.

Fall 2017 Contour Line Work & Model Building This project was an individual work for the new semester. I was asked to make a contour line drawing according to one famous painting that the professor gave us. After finished the contour drawing I was asked to built the contour model. This is the first time that I built the 3-D model to show the contour. From this project, I built a city that the inspiration from the traditional culture: Yin & Yang also I can use Indesign expertly and know how to calculate the contour.

3.Built my own yin&yang village (Zoning and the scale selection)

4.Add some details in yin&yang village (people, public space...)

1. The painting's story Sonia Delaunay’s innovative explorations of color and form began with a quilt she made for her son in 1911 that would spur a breakthrough in the history of abstraction. She had moved from Moscow to Paris at age 20, where she first encountered PostImpressionism and Fauvism, inspiring her to push further toward non-objective art.

2. Where is my thinking from?

Writing Sample: Different challenges for international students to keep mental health. ...Katy Hopkins proposed six different challenges for international students in college from study to live. Every challenge may be the factor to generate international students have the mental problems. For example, when international students get into a new environment and they even not familiar with their languages, culture, and social relationships. It is hard to live there and they still need to get into a new environment very hard and try to familiar with everything there. The most important thing is international students also have lots of tests, papers, and class participation to consider. "I was not familiar with the structure of a paper as well as academic resources and citations. It took me a whole term to work both on my own and with people in the Reading-Writing Center to get a good grade on a paper." (Bojovic 3) Also, they have no friends and no social relationship, when they have some problems and need a friend to talk with, they have no one. For example, American culture is distinctive and very multiple and it is very different from other countries'. Culture is changed, they do not know what is the best way to talk with the domestic student and it is not easy to blend into the circle of domestic students. As time passes, they have various degrees of mental problems basically. They felt upset and under the pressure, they eat too much to remit the pressure by the daily meals at buffets. They cannot control their weight and then things become worse. "The ďŹ rst week, I enjoyed having pizza and pasta and American stuff, I gained a lot of weight when I came here, and then I decided that, no—I'm not going to eat all this junk stuff anymore." (Drake 13)...

Writing Sample: The feedback of the video “Invasion of rabbit” ...In the human life, the interaction is the important thing to control the social balance. In any different social organization, two or more actors must interact with one another with some regularity and stability. This rule is also appropriate for the ecology. Like in the video that "Invasion of rabbit", the famers killed coyotes for safety and rabbits were mass outbreak because they lost the natural enemy. People broke the nature balance same as the nature of social interaction and rabbits do not have the counterweight anymore. So, rabbits ate all the green vegetables and all crop. Then people need to kill rabbits to pretend to be the coyotes aimed at to recover the new ecological balance. "Most relationships occur within complex interwoven patterns of social activity. The process of weaving together social relationships of various hues and textures to create the flowing material of social organization is called social ordering." (Olsen page36) For example, in ocean ecology, sharks eat small fish and small fish eat little shrimp and other plankton. This kind of ordering make the marine ecosphere and each part of the ecosphere have their own duty to keep the ordering is the heathy circle. Back to the video, human broke one part of the healthy circle that they killed the coyotes, the interaction was gone. Then the lower level part of the circle: rabbits were widespread and uncurbed. The ordering was gone and the ecological circle was broke...
