B rud er K l a us Fi el d Chapel all began as a sketch, ev entually evo l vi ng t o b eco me a v er y elegant yet basic landm ar k in G erma ny ’s na t ura l landsc ape. The design w as constr ucted b y l o ca l fa rmers who w anted to honor their patr on saint, B rud er K l a us o f t h e 1 5th centur y. Argua b l y t h e mo st inter esting aspec ts of the chur ch ar e fo und i n t h e met h ods of c onstr uc tion, beginning with a wi g wa m ma d e o f 1 1 2 tr ee tr unks. U p o n co mpl et i o n of the f r am e, layer s of concr ete w er e p o ured a nd ra mmed atop the ex isting sur f ace, each ar ound 50cm t h i ck . Wh en the concr ete of all 24 layer s had set, the wo o d en fra me wa s set on f ir e, leav ing behind a hollow ed b l a ckened ca vi t y and c har r ed w alls.

STYRO Layers of concrete were poured and rammed atop the e x i s t i n g surface. This part show the concrete layers. Using l a y e r u p o n l a y e r t o b u i l d t h e m o d e l r e p r e s e n t t h e t rac e o f t h e co ncret e.

S TA H L T h i s p a r t o f t h e c h a p e l i s t h e c o r r i d o r, w h i c h i s c o n n e c t e d from the outside to the inside,and the remained shape of this aisle is like a lots of triangles from low to high. According to the change of the height, make the chapel really interesting.

HOLZ After the wooden frame was set on fire, leaving behind a hollowed blackened cavity and charred walls. This part show the most important progress of the architecture, which is the frame work, a nd j ust using the sticks to c om pose the building look i n g .

TRANSPERENT Divide the chapel to several simple rectangles, and the blue part of the model r e p r e s e n t t h e c o n c e p t o f Pe t e r Z u m t h o r, b y changing the order or the position, it will e f f e c t t h e f e e l i n g o f t h e i n t e r i o r.

GIPS
Squize the plastic cup,and make a concrete model of it.It is really interesting that the model look flexible just because the lines on the cap remained.
