ACCUMULATIVE DIMENSION refers two intersectiing one dimensional
openings would allow the light of a 2-d region to cross through. For example, by setting two seam-like apertures in front of an image, enven if people standing behind two walls they are still able to view the entire field of the image by moving along with the aperture.
PRINCIPAL RULES 1. The 1-d object must not paralell to the seam-like aperture; They together weave the 2-d image with dimension belong to themselves. 2. The shape of receiver(Sensor) defines the distortion of the established image. 3. The perimeter of projection will deform once the distortion happens due to the end points of the seam-like aperture allows different angels of rays to cross through. 4. The distances that rays have travelled described the geometry of receiver.

FORM FINDING
Weaving apertures would create a rigion that allows every pixel of the image could be seen.
BRUNELLESCHI'S PROJECTION METHOD Weaving vertical&horizontal cracks
2.1.2
FLAT APERTURES
Horizontal and vertical flat apertures would allow people to see the opposite while walking.
FRESCO DE-COMPOSE By connecting structural joints and geometrical crease lines, a structrual grid has been defined(white lines). However, the narrative sequence of the fresco was not perfectly aligned with the structrual grid, it distributed rather emotionally and intuitively(magenta lines). this disalignment looks much intenser when we look at the cupola three dimensionally(left).

2.2.1
GUIDE LINES
By following the narrative clues could form a primitive chunk that potentially could generate circulations.
RENDERING Fresco replica
PERSPECTIVE AT THE ALTAR The replica of the fresco as another modern version installation creates completely different visual experience to the cathedral.
NEW CIRCULATION Stairs and the platform
2.2.2
PLATFORM
The vertical circulation brings people to the drum level, and the new platform provides a place to appreciate the art piece.
STRUCTURE Conversation between old&new
2.2.3
COHERENCE
The old and new structures are independent but coherent, the new structure would not add more load to the existing historical building.

2.3.3
SUPPORTS
Stairs are embedded in the strcture, which shares the same idea the Talenti's lower cathedral and Brunelleschi's dome.
MODEL Made without glue
NO GLUE
The model assembled with acrylic pieces without using glue, because only in this way can the model essentially stands for a craftman's spirit.

2.3.4
CIRCULATION TRANSITION
In design regards, the transition level provides a rest place to slow down the prolonged climb tour. It also gives people opportunity to appreciate the overall installation.
STORY BEHIND Negotiations and Economic Impulsion
2.4.1
MARKET SAVING PROJECT
A noticeable fact is italy is suffering from a severe financial crisis since a decade ago. The high unemployment and the rapidly inceasing tax rate demonstrated this phenomenom well. As a solution, learned by roosevelt’s new deal, the new mayor of florence proposed a series of market saving construction projects to mitigate the unemployment situation. The most appealing project inside santa maria del fiore has been named ‘the flower‘.
STORY BEHIND Negotiations and Economic Impulsion
CIRCULATION IMPROVEMENT The new circulation would ideally triple the carrying capacity
2.4.2
EFFICIENCY
The receiption capacity has been tripled due to the amount of stairs have been built. The estimated tourist quantity would be doubled after the new project is done.
OVERALL ISOMETRIC DRAWING A enlightment of the birth place of renaissance
2.4.3
EPILOGUE
The new structure successfully situated abovethe altar of santa maria del fiore. The envelope not only conceals the circulation behind it but also as an new established art piece which introduces abstraction of a modern re-composed fresco to enlight the overall religious spirit of the space. It does something that re-establishing italian’s pride, and truly does something benefit to its people.
02 WRIGLEY INSTITUTE OF MARINE BIOLOGY Design Studio Project Instructor: Andy Ku Individual Work Dec. 2015
The Wrigley institute of marine biology is going to build aother sectific center for biological research and visitor admission. The concept of this project is base of three aspect of water, which is the most valuable asset in this site. These three treatment of water is about to observe, absorb and interact with the water. From the building form, it creates a cave-like space to let people experience different space before they enter to the water. And the openess through the ‘cave‘ would provide a spectacular view for kayakers or snorkelers. The louver on the top of the building would absorb water whilst introduce the skylight into labs, since the HVAC system are all hiden in the layer between the ‘cave’ and the second floor. The artificial dock create another pier to replace the existing slippery slope which is extremely dangeous when people walk with their bare feet. The U-shape would form a hub for boats to transit ocean samples directly to the labs, and the huge pipe would pump sea waters to the labs for research use.
LAYER TWO DESCRIPTION: WATER TYPE Basically the water could be divided as three type in this particular case, which is brine, fresh water and sewage. The marine research center and the operation tank near the helipad requires seawater, so they just pump it directly. The sewage was simply pumped up to the north hill. The water tank is distributed on the top of southern hill, a hard truth is the government reduced the annual water-use limit dramatically, the whole campus is facing a severe water shortage. The amount of water desalinated from seawater are too slight to meet the requirement of their daily expense. In this respect, this project may could implant some passive design strategy in order to collect rainwater in the wet season and even trying to condensate the water vapor use the structure overlapped with marine territory.
LAYER THREE DESCRIPTION: SITE ENGAGEMENT The activities take place in this campus is diverse, especially near the shore. The tempting water rescue people from the fierce sun. Most time of the day, the temperature is too hot for activities without water. So it forms the sophistication of catalina island in marine entertainment. However, the weakness of the site is quite obvious, Lacking in water accessible amenities and protection facilities. In order to fix this conflict, I am about to choose the project site near the water on the north side, exposed to the sun in order to create enjoyable pier whilst gather solar energy. The building should provide public space to respect the context of the marine culture of Wrigley campus.

MORPHOLOGY DIVERGENCE Design Studio Project Instructor: John Dutton Individual Work May. 2016
The methodology is to approach the investigation of the architectonic space with the notion of the ‘inbetween’ space, in terms of expressing the density and complexity of patterns and the ability to create infinite systems without clearly readable boundaries. By tearing the ground level apart into four pieces, the atrium was created with four different space types. With their different height, the second level become
a mingle of outdoor space and interior well-organized circulation. The upper level is mainly semiar rooms and classrooms which require tranquil environment or say, private space. The programs located in the first floor are public accessible space, by blurring the actual second level with different floor elevation is would definitely vivify the second floor.

04 AISLE TO ISLE ——Bamboo Pavilion Design The site of this project is located on Zhejiang Forestry University,a tranquil bridge on the lake surrounded by the campus. It was a challenging site that already has a amazing view on the lake surface. The strategy was bury the whole volume underneath the surface whilst build a roof structure via traditional meterials, to indicate the existence and prosperity of the pavilion. On the other hand, it would become another view when being watched on the other side of the lake, pretty match the Chinese garden philosophy.

JOINT SOLUTION Traditionally, the joints are always tied by ropes, the only force to firm the structure is the friction, even if excavate some spiral thread won't make it steady enough,So I prefer add some interior structure such as latches to reinforce the support.

05 COMMERCIAL VILLA Half-semester studio Individual work 11.2014
Permutation of The Wall ShanQiang in Chinese means the kind of wall dividing a building in fire-proof consideration. In my perspective, this element potentially indicates a consistent order of the wall's permutation, likewise the arrayed pillar standing outside the Ancient Greek Architecture. This consecutive dicision did not impede the internal communication in this building but improved the vividity of the commercial interaction on the interface, among the interal tiny units of shops and the external terrace and ramp system.

HAND SKETCH In my academic design experience so far, I developed the habit that always finish my sketch before I using digital modeling tools. I consider freehand drawing a way of being closer to nature. The sketching could visualize every detail I conceived and even be a record for further spatial design and dimensional check.
