signage nods to nearby Times Square and helps make the deli a neighborhood landmark..” at West 57th Street and 7th Avenue, just across from Carnegie Hall, the new spot offers modern takes Jewish deli fare like corned beef and pastrami. We designed exterior signage that touts the menu in neon typography inspired by the vernacular graphics of old New York and nearby Times Square.

Glass Panel

The design consists of two juxtaposed parallelograms joined to create a self-supporting glass structure. The wall and a roof feature “Biennale” and “Gwangju” in extruded letterforms that are locked together to hold the 8-foot-tall kiosk in place. A transparent LED screen runs the length of the shelter and displays information and images.

“An elevator cage is transformed into an unique donor recognition installation at the Manhattan art school.”

donor wall wraps around all four sides of the original curved steel cage, with the plaques placed on a hanging wire grid system. donor recognition plaques vary in size according to the gift and are placed on a hanging wire grid system. The panels are made of Corian, with infilled typography set in Neue, the custom font of The New School identity

The existing elevator cage had to be accessible, which presented a problem of installing the plaques directly After an extensive discussion on site with the fabricator and the client, we came up with a slightly different A cable tension system was built with an angled frame on top and the bottom of the mesh panel; the donor threaded and fastened to the cable to be held in place.

The client wanted to create a space reminiscent of his childhood home in Paris. The material palette was assembled using mixed prints, curved glass-block walls and French paneling.
