Why Travel AMTRAK VACATIONS® ?

ALL DISCOUNT PROGRAMS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. SENIORS* Travelers aged 62 and over receive a 15% discount on the rail portion of an Amtrak Vacations® package. Valid government-issued ID may be requested as proof of age. The senior discount is not applicable for travel on Amtrak Auto Train®, USA Rail Pass, nor on certain connecting Amtrak Thruway services. The discount is available on Acela Express® trains on weekends only. On cross-border services operated jointly by Amtrak and VIA® Rail Canada, a 10% senior discount is applicable to travelers aged 60 and over. CHILDREN* Children and infants must travel with an adult who is at least 18 years or older. Children aged 2 to 12 receive a 50% discount on the rail portion of an Amtrak Vacations package when accompanied by at least one person paying an adult rail fare. Up to two children’s discounts are permitted in conjunction with each adult traveler. Children under age 2 are permitted to travel free of any rail fare, provided they do not occupy a separate seat if the seat is needed for any passenger aged 2 and over. One child under age two is permitted to travel free with each adult traveler (additional children under age 2 may travel under the 50% discount policy described above). MILITARY* Active-duty military personnel, their spouses and their dependents receive a 10% discount on the rail portion of an Amtrak Vacations package, including on Auto Train. Valid active-duty United States Armed Forces ID required. Discount tickets cannot be purchased from the conductor.

MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS ALL DISCOUNT PROGRAMS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. RESERVATIONS FOR ALL MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS MUST BE MADE AT LEAST THREE DAYS IN ADVANCE OF DEPARTURE. TICKETS CANNOT BE PURCHASED FROM CONDUCTOR.

VETERANS ADVANTAGE* / ** Veterans Advantage members receive a 15% discount on the rail portion of an Amtrak Vacations package. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RAILROAD PASSENGERS (NARP)* / ** Members of the NARP receive a 10% discount on the rail portion of an Amtrak Vacations package. AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION (AAA)* / ** AAA members and their immediate family members (spouses and dependents – up to six persons total) receive a 10% discount on the Amtrak rail portion of an Amtrak Vacations package as part of the AAA “Show Your Card and Save” program. A valid AAA membership card and valid photo ID must be provided at time of ticket purchase, and at time of travel, to receive the discount.

WHAT ARE THE SLEEPER ACCOMMODATIONS ON THE TRAIN LIKE?

We offer 5 different rail vacation types to choose from:

Amtrak trains traveling on long-distance routes typically use either twolevel Superliner or one-level Viewliner trains. Both types of trains include Bedrooms arranged in various configurations, as well as private and public bathrooms and showers. Both Roomettes and Bedrooms provide sleeping accommodations.

Escorted Rail Journeys – Our escorted rail vacations bring people together to discover famous landmarks and hidden treasures of North America. With a professionally-planned itinerary, knowledgeable local guides and an Amtrak Vacations Tour Manager to bring all the elements together, this is a once in a lifetime experience.

A Roomette is designed for one or two passengers, with comfortable reclining seats on either side of a sweeping picture window. At night, the seats convert to a bed and an upper berth is lowered down from the ceiling. There are several sinks, toilets and showers shared between yourself and the other passengers booking Roomettes aboard the train.

Independent Rail Journeys – Soak in the magical scenery of North America from the comfort and luxury of Amtrak. You set your own schedule on these adventures while all the planning is done for you including hotel accommodations, sightseeing attractions, activities, dining and more.

A Bedroom is ideal for two passengers. The Bedroom offers a private, selfenclosed toilet and shower in the cabin. Like the Roomette, the Bedroom has comfortable reclining seats on either side of a sweeping picture window. At night, the seats convert to a bed, and an upper berth with its own picture window folds out from the upper wall.

IS TRAVEL PROTECTION AVAILABLE IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?

WHERE ARE YOUR HOTELS LOCATED?

Yes, travel protection is something that we offer and strongly suggest for all travelers. Our Travel Protection Option allows you to cancel your Amtrak Vacations agreements for any reason up to noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to the first services offered by Amtrak Vacations and receive a full cash refund minus the cost of the insurance.

All of our hotels are centrally located within each city we visit. Most are within a short distance of the Amtrak station and local sights.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS? We can provide special menu selections on most trains with 72-hour advance notice. We require 24-hour advance notice for Acela Express First Class service. You do not need to provide advance notice for vegetarian meals. HOW LONG BEFORE THE TRAIN DEPARTS SHOULD I BE AT THE STATION? The recommended arrival time for each station varies, but plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure. If you need help with baggage, tickets or any other services, or if you are departing from a large or busy station, we recommend you arrive at the station even earlier. To confirm your train will be arriving on time, please call 1-800-USA-RAIL. IS THERE FOOD ON THE TRAIN? Yes. Most trains offer one or more dining options ranging from casual dining to full sit-down meals. Roomette and Bedroom accommodations INCLUDE all meals on the trains (gratuities are not included).

RE TRANSFERS TO AND FROM THE PORT INCLUDED ON A RAIL & SAIL A PROGRAM? Yes. On all Rail and Sail programs, you will have included transfers to the port from your hotel and then from the port to either a local hotel, the Amtrak station or the airport (based upon your itinerary). TRAVEL Information PASSENGER ID POLICY Amtrak® passengers 15 years of age or older must present acceptable identification (ID) when purchasing tickets, checking baggage, sending Amtrak Express® shipments, and on board trains when paying fares or if otherwise requested. Acceptable ID includes a driver’s license, passport, government agency ID card, and other specific forms of ID.

• A maximum of four checked items are allowed per passenger.

All ID must be current and valid. Contact Amtrak for specific details, including requirements for passengers 15 to 17 years old who do not have their own ID.

CROSSING THE U.S. / CANADIAN BORDER – DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: If you are crossing the border by land or sea, including on Amtrak trains and Thruway services, you must have one secure Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative-compliant document that proves both citizenship and identity.

For United States citizens 16 and over, this document must be one of the following: passport, passport card, trusted traveler card (NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST), enhanced driver’s license, Merchant Mariner’s Document, U.S. military ID with military orders or form I-872 (American Indian Card).

For citizens of other countries, a passport and, in many cases, a visa are required. A passenger aged 15 or younger who does not have one of the above documents may present a copy of his or her birth certificate instead. For further information, and to determine what is required for your particular situation (including permanent residents and others not mentioned above), contact the appropriate U.S. or Canadian government agencies prior to travel. Passengers under age 18 not traveling with both parents require a notorized letter from any parent not present giving permission to cross the border. If one parent is deceased, bringing a copy of the death certificate will minimize questioning and delay at the border. Children under 18 may not cross the U.S./Canadian border unaccompanied. Exception: A child 16 or 17 may cross the border unaccompanied if he or she is returning to the country of which he or she is a citizen. Example: A 17 year old child who is a citizen of Canada may return to Montreal unaccompanied. Amtrak and VIA® Rail Canada will require your date of birth, your country of citizenship, and your identification information. This will be entered into your reservation record and provided to border authorities. If you do not provide this information, we are unable to accept payment or issue your ticket. Admission into either country is solely at the discretion of border authorities, and possession of required documentation and the provision of required information in no way guarantees entry. Neither Amtrak nor VIA Rail Canada nor any other carrier is in any way liable if you are denied entry or removed from the train or bus. Additional personal items permitted include: • Required medical devices and medication • Pillows, blankets and outer garments • Coolers, purses or small bags no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” • Small electronic devices with protective cases. Stowage: Items must be kept in the passenger’s custody, stored in overhead racks, under seats or in designated baggage areas: items may not be stored in empty seats, aisles, vestibules or other areas where they may cause annoyance to other passengers or present a safety hazard. Due to limited space on board trains, we ask that passengers please follow the Amtrak Carry-On Baggage policy. Baggage that goes over the restrictions may not be accepted on board.

PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES Accessible seating and accessible restrooms are available in at least one Coach car on all trains. Most Lounge cars and Café cars have accessible seating too. One accessible bedroom is available in each Sleeping car. Be sure to make your reservations early, as these rooms and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. WHEELED MOBILITY DEVICES Amtrak trains accommodate most wheeled mobility devices in use today. Dimensions: The device should not exceed 30 inches (76 cm) wide and 48 inches (122 cm) long, and should have a minimum of 2 inches (5 cm) of ground clearance. Weight: The weight limit for an occupied wheeled mobility device is 600 lbs (273 kg). Manual and battery powered: Amtrak permits both manually operated and battery powered wheeled mobility devices that meet these specifications. SERVICE ANIMALS Only Service Animals Permitted. Generally, animals are not allowed on Amtrak. However, service animals are permitted in all areas where passengers are allowed. Service animals are animals that are trained to perform a specific task for the benefit of a person with a disability. Amtrak personnel may ask what task(s) the service animal performs. You must keep your service animal under control at all times. USE OF OXYGEN EQUIPMENT Amtrak allows passengers who use oxygen equipment (e.g., bottled oxygen, oxygen concentrators) to bring the equipment on board Amtrak trains with certain restrictions. Oxygen equipment transport is allowed on trains only for passengers with a disability. Portable oxygen equipment must meet the following specifications: Power Source: Oxygen equipment, including oxygen concentrators, must be able to operate a minimum of four hours without available on board electrical power (in the event of a power disruption on board). UL or FM Listed: Oxygen equipment must be Underwriter’s Laboratory (UL) or Factory Mutual (FM) listed. Weight Limits: The total weight of all tanks may not exceed 120 lbs (54 kg). Within this limit, we allow: No more than 2 tanks, 50 lbs (22.7 kg) each, or no more than 6 tanks, 20 lbs (9kg) each. SMOKING Smoking is prohibited in all areas on all Amtrak trains, on all Thruway services, and in all stations. At longer stops on long distance trains, smoking is allowed on station platforms; remain near the train to hear the boarding calls so you are not left behind. These stops may be shortened or eliminated entirely if the train is running late. State or local laws may prohibit platform smoking or require you to remain a certain distance away from train entrances. Auto Train is also entirely non-smoking. TRAVEL INFORMATION / 51

Balance is due 90 days prior to departure for any Rail and Sail program. • Yankee Leisure Group® (YLG) accepts American Express®, Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® Card and checks. Your booking is not confirmed and payment is not deemed made until the deposit is received by YLG and you receive a confirmation invoice. Your reservation will be automatically canceled if deposit is not received by YLG by the deposit due date. On certain departures, deposits may be required at the time of booking to hold or confirm space for you. • If you pay your deposit with a credit card, YLG will automatically charge the balance due 60 days prior to departure to the same credit card used to make your deposit payment. • Bookings within 14 days of departure will be charged a $35 expedited mailing fee. Any documents delivered outside of the USA will incur a minimum fee of $30. The actual cost will be advised at the time of booking. BOOKING CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS To make a change or cancel your vacation, contact your travel agent or call Amtrak Vacations at 1-800-AMTRAK-2 (800-268-7252). A fee of $25 per person (per change) will be charged by YLG for any alteration or revision made to a reservation after deposit or payment is received. Any revision made to a booking (including but not

limited to rail changes or name changes) may result in the loss of the confirmed rail seat or Sleeping car accommodations. YLG cannot guarantee the availability of requested changes. Changes after documents and tickets are issued will be treated as cancellations. If you make a change after travel documents are issued, you may need new travel documents. YLG charges a reticketing fee when it is necessary to reissue rail tickets. Before new tickets can be issued, the original tickets must be returned at your expense by a traceable delivery service to Yankee Leisure Group, Attention: Ticketing, 500 Cummings Center, Suite 3100, Beverly, MA 01915-9959. TRAVEL PROTECTION OPTION (TPO) - FROM $29 Travel Protection Option (TPO) allows you to cancel your Amtrak Vacations arrangements for any reason up to noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to the first services offered by Amtrak Vacations. IMPORTANT The TPO must be purchased at time of booking, or when deposit is paid, and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. The TPO does not cover cancellation or “no shows” on the day of departure. A “no show” is defined as a failure to notify Amtrak Vacations of a cancellation prior to noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to departure. Note: The TPO does not cover any single supplement charges which arise from an individual’s traveling companion electing to cancel for any reason prior to departure. In this case, the single supplement will be deducted from the refund of the person who cancels. Division of this charge between the two passengers involved is solely their responsibility. If insufficient funds are deducted from the canceling client, the traveling client will be charged the remaining portion of the single supplement. Payment of TPO (if chosen) must be received by Amtrak Vacations with your Deposit. The TPO is nontransferable and valid for each applicant only. CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations made before noon Eastern Time on the last business day prior to the first services offered by Amtrak Vacations will receive refunds in cash or credit to the credit card depending upon the method of payment.

liability for any passenger refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure of the passenger to carry correct documentation. All passengers traveling internationally are required to have a passport. Most countries require that the passport be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip. It is recommended you have a minimum of three blank pages in your passport when traveling, as many countries require blank pages. Multiple-entry visas are required for some vacations. It is your responsibility to verify all visa and passport requirements. The process of obtaining a visa and/or passport can take up to three months or more. Some government agencies in foreign countries require YLG to collect and pass on certain personal and other details related to you, including but not limited to government-issued identification and passport details. If you fail to supply the details as requested fully and accurately, your trip may be interrupted or cancelled. There are no refunds for failure to provide documentation or failure to provide documentation by the time required. To enter and leave Canada, all U.S. citizens must carry proof of citizenship such as a valid passport or passport card. Noncitizens must have a valid passport, visa or alien card that permits entry into Canada. A “multiple entry” visa for return to the U.S. may be required. You are responsible for obtaining and paying for any visa, passport or documentation needed. Passengers traveling on Amtrak® rail into Canada must provide date of birth, citizenship and passport information at the time of reservation. Amtrak Vacations is not responsible for any passenger that is denied entry into Canada. If the remaining portion of the trip must be cancelled, the passenger is subject to the cancellation fees noted above and is responsible for all fees to return home.
