DAY 1 - BASEL TO LUCERNE Take the train direct from Basel to Lucerne. Upon arrival in Lucerne, check in at your hotel for a three-night stay and start exploring the city. Transport yourself back in time and explore the Old Town, with its well-preserved buildings and gorgeous fountains and bridges. The atmosphere is romantic, and if you like shopping, you’re in for a real treat with chocolate shops, clothing stores and unique galleries around every corner. Also enjoy a wide selection of excellent restaurants and bars in the area.
After breakfast at your hotel this morning, enjoy discovering more of Lucerne. If you haven’t already, discover the medieval Chapel Bridge with its beautiful interior paintings dating back to the 17th century. Or just enjoy the beauty of the waterfront by hiring a bike or wandering along the elegant promenade.
DAY 3 - LUCERNE Spend another day in Lucerne today. If the weather is nice, take the world’s steepest cogwheel railway up to Mount Pilatus and enjoy panoramic views of the entire city and some truly inspiring scenery.
DAY 4 - LUCERNE TO ZURICH Take the direct train from Lucerne to Zurich this morning and check in at your hotel for an overnight stay. Nature-lovers should head to the Botanical Garden and admire the range of exotic plants and beautiful trees in this tranquil area. Or perhaps wander through the narrow streets of the Niederdorf district - a great place for people watching from a street cafe.
DAY 5 - YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN ZURICH Check out of your hotel after breakfast and depart Zurich.
