East DAY 1 - TOKYO China Welcome to Japan’s bustling, vibrant capital of Sea Tokyo! DAY 2 - TOKYO

Experience some of Tokyo’s most famous landmarks on your included city tour. Relax along the Sumidagawa River onboard a water bus and take in amazing views of the city, as well as the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Skytree. For dinner, try some traditional kaiseki cuisine.

DAY 3 - TOKYO

Spend some time perusing the famous Tsukiji Market’s stalls selling seafood and other specialty items. The outer market features a labyrinth of narrow streets packed with restaurants and shops. It is one of the best places in Tokyo to enjoy fresh seafood. You will then visit a typical Japanese home and learn to prepare sushi, which you get to eat for lunch.

DAY 4 - TOKYO TO HAKONE

Board the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train to Hakone. Aside from breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi, Hakone offers world-class art museums, hot springs, the Enoura Observatory, and plenty of hidden gems. DAY 5 - HAKONE TO KYOTO

Travel to the ancient city of Kyoto to explore its gardens, temples, shrines, and specialty shops. Today, you’ll get to experience the culture of this city on your included tour. Choose from a tea ceremony, flower arrangement class, calligraphy, or origami with an instructor.

DAY 6 - KYOTO

Today’s guided bus tour includes visits to Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), ornamental Nijo Castle, and Nishiki Market, known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen”. Later, stop by the Sanjusangendo temple, Japan’s longest wooden structure. DAY 7 - NARA AND FUSHIMI

Enjoy your included day tour of Nara and Fushimi with a local guide. Visit the Todaiji Temple, the world’s largest wooden building and home to Japan’s largest Buddha statue. At Kasuga Taisha, Nara’s most celebrated shrine, you’ll see hundreds of stone and bronze lanterns. Stroll through Nara Park (Deer Park), where you can hand feed the sacred deer. Then, visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine and its 10,000 red torii gates. DAY 8 - KYOTO TO TOKYO

Return to Tokyo by Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the city on your own by getting off the tourist track. Check out Kichijoji’s Harmonica Alley and Golden Gai.

DAY 9 - DEPART TOKYO

Check out of your hotel and transfer to Narita International Airport to continue with your onward travels.
