For over 100 years, YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake has provided exceptional outdoor experiences for youth and families from all over the country and beyond. Just under two miles from Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park, Sequoia Lake’s location offers unparalleled opportunities for personal challenge and connection to the natural world. Our campers boat, swim, sing, craft, hike, participate in challenge course activities, and much more. No matter the interest of your camper, fun and adventure await.

Being a camper at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake is about being outside while also discovering all of the possibilities we hold inside. Campers leave feeling empowered and valued while also being more compassionate and responsible citizens in their homes and communities. YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake seeks out staff people who have a proven track record of responsible, positive, and caring relationships with young people. We hire role models to nurture and guide every camper through the camp experience. Every camp counselor and their supervisors are certified in first aid and CPR, and all staff members undergo comprehensive training in youth development, risk management, and facilitation. It is our mission to make sure that every single camper who participates in our camp programs feels welcomed and nurtured. We strive to create an atmosphere that invites young people to challenge themselves, build new relationships, and become empowered to be change agents in their own communities.

YOUTH CAMP IN REDWOOD Every one of our exciting opportunities for youth campers includes swimming, boating, campfires, challenge course activities, games, and much more! Focus groups allow campers to build skills in their areas of interest. Cabin groups come together to build lasting new friendships in a nurturing environment. A wonderful summer for al of our campers awaits! Discoverers: Campers entering 3rd and 4th Grade This program for our youngest campers provides a nurturing environment to help first-time resident campers feel comfortable at resident camp. Cabin groups get to know one another and learn teamwork through team building initiatives and games. Discoverers will form new friendships, sing, swim, boat, and play while enjoying beautiful Sequoia Lake. Explorers: Campers entering 5th and 6th Grade This active and fun program allows campers to explore the great outdoors and learn new skills to help them be successful in their outdoor endeavors. Explorers will hike to local waterfalls as well as challenge themselves and build teamwork on the Low Ropes Course and Zip Line. Explorers leave camp with new friends and life-long memories. Rangers: Campers entering 7th and 8th Grade This exciting program allows older campers to hone their outdoor skills and come together as a team with an overnight backpack! In addition to all of the traditional activities that campers love, Rangers will also learn the fundamentals of backpacking as a part of their camp experience. Rangers get to take their skills on the trail and have a magical night under the stars! Adventurers: Campers entering 9th and 10th Grade High adventure awaits our teen campers in this special program designed to give campers an exciting and unforgettable experience. In addition to all of the traditional activities that campers love, Adventurers will also learn how to explore the backcountry by building their outdoor skills, utilizing Leave No Trace camping methods, and venturing out to overnight near Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park!
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IN REDWOOD The YMCA believes in the power of young people to effect change in their own lives, their schools, their communities, and beyond. Our teen leadership programs are designed help teens find the very best in themselves and others. Our progressive and fun curriculum will cultivate the discovery of campers’ leadership potential and help build professional skills. Specialist in Training (SIT): Campers entering 10th, 11th, or 12th Grade This one week leadership program is designed to not only enhance campers’ skills in our program areas, but also to teach them how to facilitate and lead activities at the archery range, waterfront, and challenge course. SITs develop strong teamwork skills and build lasting memories while learning how to make the camp experience safe and fun! Leader in Training (LIT): Campers entering 11th and 12th Grade This transformative two-week program involves the exploration of campers’ leadership and communication styles. Team-building activities and opportunities for individual and team leadership are central to this fun and engaging program. LITs will learn how to provide positive facilitation for younger campers through leading activities and developing evening programs. They will take a day hike to Grant’s Grove and also enjoy an amazing two-night backpack into Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. LITs will learn to anticipate their needs and be prepared to be excellent leaders while generating memories that will last a lifetime! Counselor in Training (CIT): Campers entering 11th and 12th Grade Young people who have interest in working with children and/or being a camp counselor will love this amazing two-week program. CITs learn about child development, positive communication mentorship, and risk management. CITs will enjoy all of the traditional activities that campers love, and they will also take an active role in facilitating evening program and campfire activities. CIT’s will enjoy and transformative overnight backpack into Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. CITs build strong collaborative and mentorship skills while coming together as team at beautiful Sequoia Lake.
SKATE CAMP IN MILL WOOD The Skate Camp program includes all the fun of summer at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake including swimming, boating, campfires, challenge course activities and more with a focus on skateboarding! Campers of every level can grown their skills and learn from amateurs and professionals. Skate camp also includes focus groups in Elemental Awareness outdoor survival skills, art, media, and music. Find your skate family in this encouraging and positive environment! Media Internships The legacy of Skate Camp’s media staff includes many of today’s top videographers and photographers. The program is open to anyone who has a passion to take their productions to the next level. Media Interns will learn the whole process behind producing the video and zines for camp. Take your media capabilities to a professional level while enjoying the excellent vibes at Skate Camp for two weeks! Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Program The CIT program offers campers a structured internship that inspires personal and professional growth. In this two week program, C.I.T.s are challenged as a team to take on the responsibilities of skate camp staff members. The goal of the program is to empower interns to gain the necessary skills to succeed in their transition into young adults. Elemental Awareness Internship The Elemental Awareness internship program is an opportunity for young adults to take the skills they learn in our camp program to the next level. Participants of the intern program will receive one-on-one instruction from our experience professional staff. Our aim is to ignite a spark in young people to further their knowledge about the natural world and understand the symbiotic relationship between all things. Elemental Awareness is offered as a one or two week program.
FAMILY CAMP IN TULEQUOIA The magic of summer camp doesn’t have to end when you grow up! Family Camp is a special program that allows multiple generations of campers to find relaxation and renewal together as a family on beautiful Sequoia Lake. Family Camp has all the things you love and remember about camp: arts and crafts, boating, swimming, skits and songs around the campfire, and more. Come celebrate summer together at Family Camp! Saplings Center: 0-5 Years of Age A wonderful place for the littlest family members to play and learn, the Saplings Center offers a variety of both activities and unstructured indoor and outdoor play to make the Family Camp experience memorable at any age. Kid’s Club: 5-10 Years of Age Crafts, bug hunts, fort building, story telling, and cooperative play are all elements of a day in Kid’s Club. Participants will also practice skits and songs for the all-camp campfire! A great way to spend the day at Family Camp! Tween Time: 9-13 Years of Age This active and fun program for tween campers includes team building initiatives, field games, hikes, name games and other exciting activities. It’s a great way for campers to bond and build lifelong friendships at Family Camp! Teen Program Teens get to experience adventures in and away from camp in the teen program. Participants will go on a backpacking overnight, enjoy movie night in the dining hall, challenge themselves to night time ultimate frisbee, play indoor games, and other exciting activities. There is no end to the good times!

With the introduction of our new camp software, the entire registration process can be completed entirely online. Everything from payments to your camper’s health forms can be completed entirely from our website.
