CLOSURE POLICY

It is the policy of the YMCA of Metro North to remain open regularly scheduled hours during inclement weather. However, if the safety of our members and staff is in question, we may close the building and/or cancel classes. If this is the case and fee based classes are cancelled you will be offered a makeup class at an alternate date. Full closure details will be posted to our Facebook page and a phone message will be available by calling the Welcome Center as soon as a decision is made. UPCOMING EVENTS KIDS’ NIGHT OUT Your children will enjoy games and crafts while you enjoy a night out! Food and drinks will be served. Space is limited. Sign-ups will NOT be taken after 5:00pm the Wednesday before a KNO. Cancellations must be made by Wednesday at 5:00pm or will result in a $20 cancellation fee. Ages 3+ and must be potty trained. Fees: $20 for first child with a family membership and $5 for each additional child.

SUMMER CHARACTER SERIES FREE for family members Children ages 2-7 are welcome to join us in our Child Watch room for a meet and greet with some of their favorite characters! Your little one will get to interact and take pictures with characters while enjoying games and a special story. Please note: Child Watch will close one hour early at 11:30am to host this event. YMCA METRO NORTH GOLF TOURNAMENT Monday, July 23 8:00am Join us for our 34th Annual YMCA of Metro North Golf Tournament at the Kernwood Country Club in Salem. Tournament will include 18 holes of golf, continental breakfast, lunch, auction and prizes. All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the YMCA Annual Fund. ENDURANCE, SPORTS & GAMES Designed with more advanced swimmers in mind. This class uses games and other water sports/activities to increase the endurance and ability of each swimmer. This class gives swimmers a different feel than traditional swim lessons and encourages aquatic sports and games as a part of a healthy lifestyle. Sat: 12:00pm-12:40pm

AQUATICS CERTIFICATION CLASSES CPR/FIRST AID/AED

Member: $50 | Non-Member: $75 This program is for individuals who want or are required to have CPR/AED and First Aid knowledge and skills. Certification will be from the American Safety and Health Institute. This class will have online and in-class components. BALLET AND TAP (Ages 3-5) This structured dance class is for those who have completed at least one session of Baby Ballerinas or have instructor approval. Ballet & Tap will use techniques learned in Baby Ballerinas to start incorporating choreography and advanced movements into class for participants. Wed: 11:30am-12:15pm

INTRODUCTION TO DANCE

The Melrose YMCA is looking for warriors. This circuit based class will prepare you for obstacle course races and mud runs! INTRO TO WEIGHT TRAINING I

(Ages 10-13) FOR BEGINNERS! This class is designed for youths interested in various forms of weight training including body building, weight lifting, power lifting and lifting for strength. Get the motivation, accountability and guidance you need for success! You can purchase packages of 3, 6 or 10 sessions; or if you are interested in long term training, pay weekly to fit into your budget. It is convenient, and long-term training becomes more affordable.

Individual Training:

• Work one-on-one with a trainer for 30 minutes or 60 minutes per session. • Excellent for members with injuries or limitations, or for individuals seeking an accelerated program. • Individual attention provides a custom plan to suit your needs and to help you reach your fitness goals.

Partner Training:

• Limited to 2 people. • Get the advantage of a trainer’s guidance with the added benefit of peer accountability when you work out with a friend. • Partner training sessions are a perfect fit for friends, workout buddies and couples that share similar health and fitness goals.

Specialty Training:

• One-on-one or partner training in a specific modality or with specific goals in mind. We are currently offering boxing, speed development, swim or endurance training. Note: training is on dry land and primarily in the fitness center. HEALTHY LIVING LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA LiveSTRONG at the YMCA is evidence based, informed program based on best practices for cancer survivors exercise. The goals of the program are to empower adult cancer survivors to improve functional capacity and to increase their quality of life through an organized program of fitness and strength offered in a supportive, small group setting. Our staff is recruited, thoroughly vetted and receives extensive training. The process includes: • Application with work history • Comprehensive interview process • Full background check with CORI & SORI and at least 3 reference checks • Training includes but is not limited to child abuse training, CPR, First Aid, behavior management, bully prevention, team building, service learning and child development. We work closely with law enforcement and other community outlets to always ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and members.


PROGRAM REGISTRATION POLICIES PROGRAM REGISTRATION

In order to receive member rates for programs, your membership must be current throughout the entire program session. If it expires during the session and you do not renew your membership, you will be charged an additional fee to bring the total cost of the program to the non-member rate. We require each participant in a YMCA program to have a signed liability waiver that is current for the calendar year. Those under 18 must have a parent signature on the program waiver.

WAIT LIST POLICY

If a program is full, you may request to be placed on a wait list. You will make no payment until accepted into the program. The program director will contact you to inform you of your acceptance into the class. You will have 24 hours to contact us, if we do not hear from you, your name will be removed from our wait list and the spot will go to the next person on the wait list. Your spot is not accepted/secured unless payment is received. Please be sure we have your correct address, email and phone number on file to contact you.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS

The YMCA may cancel a class due to unforeseen events, i.e. safety concerns, weather, building closures, etc. The YMCA will make every effort to make up the cancelled class, however, in the event the class cannot be made up, a system credit will be issued.

CREDITS AND REFUNDS

• If the YMCA cancels a program, a full refund will be processed. • If notification of withdrawal is received 48 hours or more prior to the first class, a YMCA credit or a full refund will be issued. • If notification of withdrawal is received less than 48 hours prior to the first class, a YMCA credit will be issued. • If notification of withdrawal is received between the first and second class, a YMCA credit will be issued minus the cost of classes already held. • There are no refunds after the 2nd scheduled class. • Make up classes or refunds are not available for classes missed by the participant due to personal conflict. • If the cancellation is due to a medical issue, a doctor’s note must be provided in order for a refund to be issued.
