LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR As the weather outside warms up and we shed all those winter and spring layers, we thank you for choosing the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA as the place to fulfill your health goals for 2011. As you make that commitment for a healthier you, we are happy to be part of the process. Seek out our Healthy Lifestyles and Membership staff to make your fitness experience enjoyable and productive. We offer a variety of programs that allows the entire family to commit to being active and living a healthier lifestyle and we want you to take advantage of it. Welcome to the Summer/Fall membership guide. This important tool is provided for your use in making your membership experience that much more informative. In the following pages you will find necessary information regarding program descriptions and activities offered at the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA.

WELCOME

If you are looking for a place for your young person for the summer, try our Y summer camp. We offer an array of fun, structured activities in a safe environment that allows kids to be kids. So whether its physical fitness, social development or summer fun, we are pleased that you will be making it happen here at the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA! I would like to encourage you to get involved in the Y and its many activities. Come to our monthly members meetings , volunteer at one of our community events, donate to our Strong Kids Campaign, new member orientations, or look at our monthly newsletter and YMCA postings throughout the facility bulletin boards. Finally, during these difficult financial times, remember we continue to offer financial assistance to those who need it. ABOUT THE BEDFORD-STUYVESANT YMCA FACILITY Membership at the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA entitles you to a wide variety of Health and Wellness options. In addition to a full roster of classes, modern, and user-friendly equipment, we also have an indoor swimming pool, gym, indoor track and other sports activities. You’ll find a state-of-theart fitness center, which provides a range of resistance and cardiovascular machines, as well as plate-load and free-weights. If one or more pieces of equipment are not familiar to you, please stop by the Member Welcome Center to schedule an appointment with one of our trainers. We have programs and activities that enrich the entire family, from infants to seniors.

Pool: 25 yards, 4 lanes (slow, medium, medium fast, fast) Average temperature of 84 degrees Depth:3-10 feet Free Weight Room: 71 lengths per mile • Iron grip dumbbells and barbells • Flat, incline, and decline benches Fitness Center: • Smith machine Life Fitness Strength Training Circuit • Squat rack • 45 pieces of cardiovascular equipment including: • Hammer strength training equipment treadmills, ellipticals, upright and recumbent bicycles and summit trainers. ***Teen members must have an orientation session • Medicine balls, jump ropes and before using the fitness center. The fitness center resistance tubes are available. is available for teen use only during specific hours. Please contact the Welcome Center for details.

Indoor Track: The indoor track is a 32-lap-to-the-mile loop that encircles and overlooks the gymnasium.

ETIQUETTE Please remember and practice the YMCA Values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Honesty. • Appropriate fitness attire is required: Athletic Shoes (Tennis, Jogging, Walking, Aerobic, etc.). Shirts required (please, no half shirts, sports bras, short shorts or midriff tops, athletic or jogging shorts, sweats, warm ups or leotards. Inappropriate clothing includes, but is not limited to sandals, flip‑flops, jeans, street clothes, suggestive clothing and clothing with offensive language and/or graphics. • All personal belongings are to be kept in the locker‑room. Valuables should be placed in a kit locker located by the Welcome Center. Cell phones are prohibited in Locker‑rooms and all fitness areas. Please go to a hallway, the main lobby or outside the Y. • When you have completed your workout, please wipe down equipment. Place used towels in the towel bin. • Allow other members to work in between your sets. • Work with only one piece of equipment at a time; do not save equipment with towels. Return equipment to its original location (dumbbells, plates, cable attachments, balls, mats). Always work with a spotter. Discard all water or sports drink bottles. When utilizing the pools, a swim cap is required at all times. No scooters or skateboards. All Healthy Lifestyle Center participants will adhere to the YMCA Code of Conduct and Values. Online Registration Instructions Have your member number ready. It is in the lower right hand corner of your membership card above the barcode. If you do not have your card handy, we can email it to you in step 3, or you can call the Welcome Center at 718-789-1497. 1. Go to www.ymcanyc.org/bedstuy. 2. Select Online Registration, on the left of the page. The log-in page will appear. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it here. 3. Enter your member number and password. 4. Select the branch and the class category that you would like to register yourself and/or your family for. Add your selections to your shopping cart. 5. Select the check out button on the upper right hand side of the screen.Edit your selections if necessary. 6. Enter your credit card payment information. If there is a credit available on your account, it will automatically be applied to your balance. 7. Select the submit button ONCE to prevent multiple charges. You will receive a payment confirmation email once your registration/payment is complete.

Early Childhood Programs Ages 6 mos.-6yrs TINY TOES Children ages 3-4 years will learn the fundamentals of ballet through awareness of body movement and creativity. While participating in exercises and dance sequences, participants will learn coordination while exploring various levels of movements, developing strength, flexibility and poise. Members:$75

Program Members: $120

TINY TOES II A pre-ballet class for children ages 5-6 years. Children will start to learn ballet fundamentals as they enhance their body awareness and creativity. Members: $75

SATURDAY MORNING STORY TIME ( SEPTEMBER – JUNE)

CHILD WATCH Do you need someone to watch your child while you workout? Your child will enjoy creative play, painting, music, and other fun activities in a safe environment with a responsible Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA staff member. Available to family members only: Monday-Friday 9:00am-12:00pm Monday-Friday 6:00pm-9:00pm Saturday 10:00am-1:00pm • Register 24 Hours in advance. We offer members 2 hours maximum out of the 3 hours offered each day. • Child watch is on a first come, first serve basis. Staffing permits no more than 12 children at a time. Registration is required, call 718-789-1497 ext 4005. • Child watch staff cannot change diapers or unclothe your child to use the bathroom. • Parent/care-givers must remain in the building and alert Child watch staff as to where in the building they will be (pool, gym, etc). • Sick children will be unable to participate in child watch. • Parents, nannies, and other caregivers will not be allowed to remain in the Childwatch room, apart from normal pick-up and drop-off, as all of the adults in the room must be trained and background checked for the safety of your children.

EARLY CHILDHOOD FITNESS

A reading group for ages 2-6 years designed to develop creativity and a love of reading in toddlers while encouraging family time through arts and crafts. This group meets the first Saturday of every month.


EARLY CHILDHOOD AQUATICS PROGRAM Classes not meeting the minimum number of participants will be cancelled or combined with another class similar in skills. Introduce your child to the fun of water sports in our warm water pool. At this age, the primary goal is to welcome children to water and encourage them to be comfortable and have fun with their instructors and with the children. Children under 3 years old are taught with a guardian in the water. No swimming skills are required.

PARENT-CHILD WATER ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM For ages: 6mos-3yrs Parents and/or guardians, please consult your pediatrician prior to taking these classes.

This is an introduction to the aquatic environment for parents and their infants. Parents are encouraged to develop appropriate expectations for their children’s performance in the water. They learn the basic aquatic safety and have a positive experience with their children that help them grow closer. Summer Only – through Sept. 4th Saturday 9:00-9:30am Sunday 9:30-10:00am

This level continues to provide positive aquatic experiences for parents and infants. The infants learn basic water skills and have fun playing with toys and floatation devices. Inia (13-18 months)

Children start moving more independently through the water under their parents’ guidance. Parents learn more about aquatic and boating safety, and children begin to learn something about these topics as well. Perch (19-36 months) Children do more independent exploration of the aquatic environment with help from parents. The parents again review and learn more about aquatic safety. Youth Programs Ages 6-12 yrs YOUTH AQUATIC PROGRAMS School age swim lessons develop your child’s stroke technique and endurance. Beginning with the progression from shallow to deep water, we work with the goal of moving swimmers into our Piranhas Swim Team. In these classes, they master the skills necessary for the swim team and reach a level of knowledge and confidence that will encourage them to remain swimmers for the rest of their lives. Y AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS We offer an After School Program at Brooklyn Excelsior Charter School for students ages 5-12, providing a safe, caring environment for your child, homework help, violin lessons, arts and crafts, local field trips, snacks, swimming instruction, and recreational activities. HOLIDAY CAMP When public schools are closed, Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA Holiday Camp is open – from 8:00 am-6:00 pm for children ages 5-12 to participate in arts & crafts, sports, swimming, trips and special activities. We provide a snack and parents provide a bag lunch, swim suit, cap and towel. Bedford-Stuyvesant Holiday Camp follows the Department of Education‘s school schedule, but will not be offered if registration is low. *Thanksgiving Recess *Winter Recess

Y AFTER SCHOOL This program promotes social/emotional learning and academic support, with a focus on youth. Designed to support but not replace the school day program, the curriculum consists of a variety of academic, recreational and values-based, hands-on activities, focusing on literacy, reading, writing, and speaking. The Y After School is offered at P.S. 5, P.S. 28, P.S. 54, P.S. 56, Satellite 3,P.S. 256, and P.S. 221.

Youth Aerobics This class will aid in the development of your child’s posture, motor coordination and self-confidence. Children and parent will have fun together. Monday and Wednesday: 4:00pm-5:00pm Members: Free Non-members: $75

Youth Karate This class will teach the fundamental skills of the martial arts, karate. Your child will develop discipline, motor skills, and self-confidence. Saturday: 12:00pm-1:00pm Members: $75

Advance Karate This class involves complete physical and mental development. This program develops positive behavior changes in self-control, self-respect and self-confidence. Saturday: 1:00pm-2:00pm Members: $75 Non-members: $120

Fit Kids Run Fit Kids Run is a great class for kids who love to move. Kids will learn the basics of running and racing during this class on our indoor track. Tuesday and Thursday: 6:00pm-7:00pm Members: Free Non-members: $75

Fun Club The Saturday Fun Club is full of fun. Kids will learn sports skills as they participate in 8 weeks cycles of different sports and game play. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, and more sports will be part of the fun rotation. All games are inclusive and designed to keep all participants engaged and involved. Tween Girls Into Fitness(TGIF) & Tween Boys Into Fitness(TBIF) A fitness class espcially for tween girls and boys ages 9-15 years. Girls and boys will have fun participating in various workouts including, but not limited to, spinning, strength training, yoga, running, and pilates. Friday: 5:00pm-6:00pm Members and Program Members: Free

Little Dancers A ballet class for children ages 7-10 years old. This class is the same as Tiny Toes and Tiny Toes II, just for the older girls. Members: $75 Program Members: $120

Teen Leaders Club: Leaders Club is a national program of the YMCA, which provided club members with opportunities for leadership training, personal growth, service to others and social development. Leaders Club is one of the YMCA’s most intensive and comprehensive teen programs. Youths meet on a weekly basis in small groups, working closely with their peers and advisor on skill and character building activities, as well as planning and organizing club projects. By connecting with adult advisors, teens have role models and mentors who can have a positive impact on their lives. Teens Take The City This exciting program teaches teens the essentials of democracy and the civic process, encouraging them to become active and involved citizens. Teens participant in developing, presenting and descending bills. The program culminates in a youth legislative session at City Hall.

Youth and Government Youth and government is a national program of the YMCA. It involves thousands of teens nationwide in a state organized model government programs, which includes model legislature, judicial programs, executive branches, lobbyist, press corps and pages. They will also have the opportunity to travel to Albany for a weekend of teen legislative sessions with hundreds of young people from New York City and State. Wednesday 4:30-6:00pm Free

Global Teens Every summer a selected group of teen members get to travel overseas to different countries as ambassadors for the YMCA. The program is open to teens 15 years old and older. Places visited in the past include Thailand, North Korea, Costa Rica, Brazil, New Mexico and South Dakota. This is a great opportunity to see the world. Strong Kids Membership STRONG KIDS CARD The YMCA Strong Kids Card is part of the YMCA of Greater New York’s commitment to improving the health and fitness of New York City’s kids age 5-17. Every YMCA branch in New York City is reaching out to kids in their neighborhood programs to enroll them in the YMCA Strong Kids Card, simply pick up a child for a free YMCA Strong KIds iniative. To register your child for a free YMCA Strong KIds Card, simply pick up a brochure at the membership desk, fill it out, and send it with your child to their YMCA program. • Fees – All fees are to be paid in full when booking at least one week prior to the session start date. • Transfer – If participant is transferring from another program, please inform Anderson Seales, Aquatics Director before booking the lesson. This way the credit amount can be applied to the private lesson fee and you only pay the difference. • Make-up Policy – Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA does not supply make-ups for missed lesson or late arrivals of the student EXCEPT: A.

• Cancellations – Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA will reschedule one cancellation during a five or ten week series of lessons. • Swimmers are allowed in the pool for the duration of their lessons only. If pool scheduling allows, students who wish to swim before or after their lesson must pay the appropriate drop-in fee at the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA Member Welcome Center. Members do not have to pay but they must show proof of membership. No substitution for the registered student is permissible. Only the person signed up for the lesson can take the lesson.

Lanes are divided into four(4) speeds:slow, medium, medium fast, and fast. Distances: 18 lengths=1/4 mile; 36 lengths=1/2 mile; 54 lengths=3/4 mile; 72 lengths=1 mile. Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of all swimmers, and may ask swimmers to change lanes. Maximum 5 swimmers per lane. One or two swimmers may split the lane; three or more swimmers must move in counter clockwise circles, staying to the right. A swimmer entering a lane where one or more people are already swimming must make sure that the other person/people see him/her before starting to swim, especially when this means circle swimming is required. Diving is not permitted. Slower swimmers must allow faster swimmers to pass at the wall. Fins are not permitted. Spitting in the pool or pool gutters is not allowed. Lap swim time is for lap swimmers only, no recreational swim or play is allowed. If a lane is empty, a swimmer may stretch or exercise. Kickboards and pull buoys are available for use(please replace after use). Food, gum, and beverages are not allowed in the pool area. Glass bottles are strictly prohibited. Lap swim time is for teens and adults;children under age 13 are not permitted. Proper bathing attire is required;jeans, shorts and cutoffs are not allowed. T-shirts are allowed, provided they are white or colorfast. Swimmers with visible sores or infections are not allowed.

Users must shower before entering the pool. Swim caps are required at all times for all swimmers. No cap, no swimming. Street shoes are not permitted on the pool deck. Members and facility users are required to follow posted signs and lifeguard directions. Children 8 years and under must be within arms reach of an adult (18 or over) in the water. Children 9-11 years must have an adult on the pool deck and viewing area. All non-swimmers must remain in the shallow area. Any child wearing a floatation device must remain in the shallow area. Backpacks/bubbles are provided as a floatation devices to non-swimmers. Infants and children who are not fully toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. All rules and regulations are enforced by the lifeguard. All patrons must adhere to the lifeguard. Video recorders, cameras, or any other visual recording devices are NOT allowed within the pool area.

Healthy Lifestyles HEALTHY LIFESTYLE We offer a variety of health and wellness classes to suit your needs. Find a class that meets your workout and schedule best! We have a fitness program to meet everyone’s needs. Group exercise classes are free to members and $95 per 8-week session for Program members. CHOREOGRAPHED CARDIO ZUMBA-ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music, utilizing dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness program. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. HIP HOP AEROBICS-A cardiovascular workout using urban upbeat Hip Hop music. This class teaches step by step movements with fun choreography to get your feet moving and your heart pumping.

ATHLETIC CARDIO ADVANCED STEP-This high intensity workout is filled with advanced choreography that uses every angle of the step platform. Prior step training experience is advised. BOOTCAMP-An efficient circuit training workout that challenges your entire body, utilizng calisthenic such as push-ups, jumping jacks, crunches, and more. RUNNER’S CLUB-Designed to get groups of YMCA members together outside for a fun run. Groups are based on ability. Emphasis on safety and fun. SPINNING-A great cardio workout of simulated road bike riding to energizing music, appropriate for all fitness levels. The instructors will lead you on a ride designed to improve your fitness on a variety of levels.

CARDIO STRENGTH INTERVAL TRAINING-Supercharge your fitness with this challenging class of high speed, high intensity work alternated with recovery periods of low intensity. TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING- A full body workout designed to strengthen and tone the upper and lower body using hand held weights.

DANCE SALSA (BALLROOM DANCE) - Learn the basics of ballroom including fox trot, waltz, swing, chacha, rumba, tango, and more in beginner level classes. Hard-soled shoes preferred. Intermediate amd Advanced level classes are designed for students with solid working knowledge of ballroom dance. Partner preferred but not necessary.

BELLY DANCING - A dance movement class that focuses on the core muscles, emphasizing muscular isolations. Dance to Middle Eastern rhytms while learning traditional movements and combinations. AQUATIC EXERCISE AQUATIC EXERCISE - An instructional class of aerobic movements performed in the water, to improve body conditioning, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility. AQUA JOG - A unique exercise class that takes place in the water, utilizing floatation devises to allow “jogging� in deep water. No swimming experience required, but participants should be comfortable being in deep water. AQUA ZUMBA - ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music, utilzing dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness program. MIND/BODY HATHA YOGA - A yoga class that integrates postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, and meditation to stretch, strengthen, and condition. All levels are welcome. VINYASA YOGA - Flowing sequences of yoga poses linked together by an emphasis on breathing technique. GENTLE YOGA - Designed to teach basic yoga postures that will enhance flexibility, strength and balance and promote relaxation. PRENATAL YOGA - Expectant mothers will learn to stretch, strengthen, focus and relax. This class will help prepare you physically and mentally for the experienced of childbirth. It is open to women trying to get pregnant as well as post-partum women and their partners. TAI CHI - An ancient form of mind/body exercise that uses purposeful, slow movements in a form of mediaitive exercise for relaxation, health and self-defense.

• Personal training is done ONLY by our staff. • Street shoes, sandals, baseball caps and do-rags are not permitted. • Personal belongings(bags, coats, etc.) may not be brought into the fitness rooms. Please leave all belongings in lockers provided. • No street clothes such as jeans or jean shorts may be worn in the fitness rooms. • Shirts must be worn at all times. • No food or drink is allowed in fitness rooms, gymnasium or pool, except for water in closed containers only. • There is a 30-minute limit on cardiovascular equipment. Please monitor the time accordingly. • DO NOT drop weights on the floor! • Teen members ages 12-17 may use the Fitness Center during sepcific hours once they have received an orientation. • Upon completion of this course, teens will receive stickers for the backs of their membership ID cards and must present ID cards to floor monitor upon entering the Fitness Center. • Non-compliance with these policies can result in your being asked to leave the facility.

We run a wide variety of free programs and community events for youth and families, including health and wellness events, festivals, holiday celebrations and outings. Each month throughout the year we offer three events geared at bringing youth and family together. For more information contact the Member Welcome Center. Registration is required two weeks prior to each event for interested members. Events will be cancelled if registration is low.

Space Rentals CELEBRATE YOUR CHILD’S BIRTHDAY AT BEDFORD-STUYVESANT YMCA SPACE RENTALS: Want to have that special party for your child or special someone but do not know what to do? Looking for the perfect place to have your baby shower? Look no further. Let the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA help you provide treasured moments.

POOL PARTY RENTAL: Enjoy an hour of swimming in our heated 25 yard pool with family and friends. Pool parties include 1 hour in the pool and 2 hours in the Pfizer Room. Prices are based on up to 20 participants in the water. Up to 5 additional participants requires an extra lifeguard at an additional charge of $40. Children 8 years and younger MUST be accompanied in the water by a parent or guardian 18 years or older. This will count toward your total participants. All participants for the pool activity must wear swim caps. Renter is responsible for all decoration, paper goods, food, cake and beverages. Please note that set up and clean up are included in the time. *Pool only

ROOM RENTAL: Room rentals are in either the Pfizer Room or Community Room. Both rooms hold a maximum of 50 people. We provide tables and chairs. A refrigerator is available. Membership Etiquette MEMBERSHIP RULES AND POLICIES Total Health Vision • The Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA will create a welcoming and supportive community to promote healthy, active lifestyles for all ages and to build positive relationship to achieve a lifelong balance of Spirit, Mind and Body.

• The Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA Total Health membership improves the wellness of the whole person (Spirit, Mind and Body) in a welcoming environment that provides quality equipment, programs, services and professional, certified staff.

• Total Health programs are designed to meet individual needs of cardiovascular health, strength training, weight loss, stress reduction and education, while fulfilling members’ expectations of high quality and value.

Policy of Non-Discrimination • It is the policy of the Association to make membership available to all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age martial status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or financial circumstances. The YMCA serves families and persons of all ages, income levels, and physical condition with emphasis on responsibility and self-improvement.

Membership Dues Membership dues may be paid in full upon registration, or monthly via automatic credit card or bank draft.

Automatic Monthly Draft Automatic monthly draft deductions from a designated checking, savings or credit card account may be financially and administratively beneficial for members. Memberships are automatically renewed, so there is no risk of incurring an additional Initiation Fee.** Contact your bank to determine whether it participates in the Automatic Draft Plan.

Benefits of the Automatic Draft Plan Your membership is month-to-month; you may cancel at anytime with no penalty. Fees are spread out over the year at no extra charge and with no added interest. You may suspend your automatic deductions for one to three months per year at no cost. You do not have to renew your membership; it is renewed automatically until you cancel. Only Adult, Senior Citizen and Family Memberships may utilize this option. **An Initiation Fee is due with the first payment on all plans. It is a one-time charge if membership is renewed within one month of expiration.

• Bring your credit card or voided check from the account to be debited to the Member Welcome Center. • Complete the YMCA bank or credit card draft authorization form. • You can stop your draft at any time by filling out and handing in a cancelation form 15 days prior to the draft date. Forms are available at the Member Welcome Desk.

Payment in Full Members make a one-time payment at the start of the membership year. Annual fees can be paid by cash, check, money order or debit card. The YMCA accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discovery cards.

Membership Renewals For members who pay annually, renewals must be made by the end of the membership year. The membership office allows for a grace period of one month past the expiration date, after which time the membership lapses and an Initiation Fee is required to rejoin. A renewal notice is sent to members toward the end of their membership year. For members who pay monthly, renewal is not necessary; monthly deductions (through the automatic draft plan) continue unless and until a cancellation form is filled out at the Member Welcome desk and handed in 30 days prior to the draft date.

Freezes and Extensions • Any membership may be frozen once a year for a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months without any penalty. Membership Freeze forms are available from the Member Welcome Desk or you can email a request for a freeze to amathis@ymcanyc.org. • All requests for membership freezes must be made in advance 15 days before draft date. Freeze forms are available at the Member Welcome Desk. • For members who pay annually, the membership year will be extended for the chosen time period. • For members who pay monthly, the automatic deduction will be suspended for the chosen time period, and automatically resumes the month following the freeze period.

Locker Room Rules ID Cards • All members of the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA receive an identification card. For the safety of all, members must present their membership ID cards upon entering the building.

• All guests and visitors are required to present a valid ID card upon entering the building. • A $10 fee will be charged to replace lost membership cards. Guest Passes • Members are given six complimentary guest passes per membership year. • Adult members are allowed from six to ten complimentary visits to any branch in the NY Association in one calendar year. A guest pass fee will be charged after the visits (guest pass fee will be calculated at 50% of the branch guest pass fee). • Six free guest passes will be distributed to members when they join and when they renew their memberships. • Limit of 1 one-week guest pass allowed per calendar year for non-members. • Limit of three free daily guest passes allowed per calendar year for any one individual. • The purchase of fee-based guest passes is limited to six per year per person. • The guest MUST be 18yrs or older to use a guest pass and must ALWAYS come with a valid photo ID.

Check Policy • Personal checks are welcome with valid identification. • If checks or automatic drafts are returned for insufficient funds, it will be re-presented electronically and you will be assessed a processing fee of $30 or the maximum amount allowed by the law. The check writer is also responsible for all other check recovery costs, including all attorney’s fees, court costs and taxes. • Checks may not be used for Day Camp fees.

Refunds and Credits • For paid-in-full memberships, refunds are given for the unused portion of the membership. Membership refunds are prorated on a monthly basis. A written request is required.

• Initiation Fee is non-refundable. • Refunds are not given for non-use of the facility. • Deposits for child-care programs are non-refundable. • All refunds require approval of the Executive Director. • Credits for programs and classes are given only in the event of illness or family emergency. A written request and documentation are required.

• Class and program refunds are given only if the Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA cancels a class. • Credits must be utilized within one year of issuance. • 75% refund/credit after the 1st day of program, 50% refund /credit up to 2nd week of program • NO refunds of credits after 2nd week of program.

LOCKER ROOM RULES We provide five locker rooms: • Women's: with full, half and kit lockers, (ages 18 & up) sauna, steam room and swimsuit spinner. • Men’s: with full, half and kit lockers, (ages 18 & up) sauna, steam room and swimsuit spinner. • Girls: children and teens (under 18). • Boys: children and teens (under 18). • Family: Two private showers and changing stalls for parents changing children under the age of six. • Cell phones are not permitted. • No eating or drinking allowed.

Lockers • Full and half lockers are for day use only and are free. They should be emptied after every use. • Members must bring their own locks. • Kit Lockers are the only lockers that may be locked overnight. All other lockers will be clipped nightly. • Kit Lockers are available for an annual fee of $60.00 YMCA can not assume responsibility for loss or theft of personal property.
