Our programs are designed to help ease first time experiences and separation. Qualified staff and certified teachers provide enriching experiences for our youngest Y participants. TODDLER PROGRAMS
Our toddler programs run every 8 weeks. Classes may change each session due to availability and interest. Please see member service desk for updated schedule.
Toddling Around … & Around (Ages 2 – 3 years) As your child is growing bigger it may be time to expand their little universe! This 75 -minute class is designed to enhance and explore your child’s curiosity, as well as develop intellectual, emotional and social skills. Family areas, role playing, art and music activities, and manipulative objects provide a challenging environment for your child. The goal of this class is to develop independence and ease first time separation. Members: $53 – 1x week $102 – 2x week $123 – 3x week Non-Members: $68 – 1x week $128 – 2x week $151 – 3x week
INDOOR PLAYGROUND (Ages 2 - 4 years) A motor development and movement awareness class that Includes activities such as balancing, obstacle courses, riding tricycles, learning to catch and play ball, and singing songs in a loosely structured and relaxed environment. The class promotes physical strength, flexibility, confidence, self-esteem and fun while socializing with their peers. Members: $90 -1x a week $160 - 2x a week Non-Members: $110 -1x a week $185 - 2x a week

LITTLE PICASSOS (Ages 2 – 4 years) Little Picassos will offer a little something for everyone. Preschoolers will have a great time mixing paints and using crayons and markers, while learning basic drawing skills. An assortment of projects will be made using a variety of fun and creative techniques. Expression and creativity is encouraged! Members: $83 – 1x week $105 - 2x week Non-Members: $103 – 1x week $130 - 2x week
THREE STEPS TIMES TWO (Ages 3-4 years) Children will explore their independence and learn to socialize with their peers in this fun-filled class through playing, sharing, role playing, all while they are learning to follow routines! This class is intended for those toddlers who are already comfortable with separation from their parents and caretakers. MY LITTLE ACADEMY My Little Academy is our Early Childhood Educational Program licensed under the Department of Health. These classes are staffed with highly qualified and certified Early Childhood teachers and teacher assistants. We offer: - Creative Curriculum (a teaching method which helps teachers organize their rooms into interest areas filled with enriched activities for students through hands on learning) - A student to teacher ratio of 12:2 - Variety of subject learning (science, literacy, language, social studies, math, sports, and technology) - Park time (weather-permitting) - Gym time
Parent Orientation Parent or guardian must attend this meeting on August 28, 2012 at 5:30pm .
3 YEAR OLDS (2.9-3 YEARS)

MLA REGISTRATION IS EASY Registration forms are available at our membership office and online at www.ymcanyc.org/ridgewood To sign up, please submit the following: Completed registration form Completed medical form (with signatures from parent and doctor and stamp from doctor’s office) First month’s and last month’s tuition. (This fee is non-refundable.) Parents can hold a spot in the program with a $50 registration fee, prior to the start of the program. This fee is applied to the first month’s payment.
Children may not start program until all above items have been submitted. GOVERNMENT & UNION VOUCHERS - We accept 1199 SEIU vouchers. You must have your confirmation letter with you at the time of registration. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - The Ridgewood YMCA awards scholarships to students based on a parent or a family’s annual income. The scholarship applications must be submitted by July 15th in order to receive assistance for the 2012-2013 school year. REFUNDS AND CREDITS - You may submit a request for credit along with documentation to the Early Child Care Director. Credits can be used for any programs offered throughout the year. Any refund requests will be submitted to the Director and will be granted under the discretion of the Director. All requests must be made 1 month prior to the exit date of the program. 7
PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS UNIVERSAL PRE-KINDERGARTEN (UPK)
The Ridgewood YMCA offers NYC’s FREE Universal Pre-Kindergarten, a quality educational program five days a week!
We offer two sessions: AM: 9:00 –11:30 PM: 12:30 -3:00 Each of our 2.5 hour sessions has openings for 18 children. Children are taught by highly qualified, certified teachers and personnel. Our curriculum places a high priority on creating an environment in the classroom that encourages children to experiment, explore, and pursue their own interests while following the NYS Common Core Learning Standards. This program runs with NYC DOE school calendar from September to June. To participate in the 2012 - 2013 school year, children must be 4 years old by December 2012. Enrollment for the 2012 - 2013 school year begins on or about March 5th.

SUMMER PROGRAMS AGES2.9–4YEARS MLA SUMMER OBJECTIVES YMCA My Little Academy Summer helps campers ages 3-4 years old grow mentally and physically by participating in challenging activities in both small and large group settings under the supervision of a caring and well trained staff. DATES & HOURS OF OPERATION Ridgewood YMCA MLA Summer offers four two week sessions in an eight-week program that runs from July 2 thru August 24, 2012 from 9:00am -5:00 pm. We also offer extended hours from 8:00am thru 6:00 pm. To learn more about our program please be sure to attend one of our Open Houses. MS REGISTRATION MADE EASY In order to register for MLA Summer, you must have a completed registration form with all required signatures. Registration forms will be available at out membership office and on our website at www.ymcanyc.org/ridgewood by January 31, 2012, when registration begins. As part of the registration form,1 passport size photo of your child is required. Completed registration forms along with a non refundable registration fee of $75 AND a deposit of $50 will reserve your child’s space in MLA Summer up until July 13th when all payments are due. Take advantage of the Early Bird discount and get10% off sessions that are paid in full by Saturday, May 19. All participants must have a medical form completed with required signatures from both parent and doctor. An official stamp from the doctor is also required. Y staff must have this completed medical on file by June 1st in order for your child to participate in MLA Summer. The YMCA accepts all major credit cards or you may sign up for automatic billing to ensure payments are made on time with no late fees incurred.
PARENT ORIENTATION Parent Orientation is mandatory. Parent or guardian must attend this mandatory meeting on Wednesday June 20th at 5:30 pm.

PROMOTIONAL OFFERS
Early Bird Discounts 10% discount for participants who are registered by May 19. The discount is applied for sessions that are paid in full. Siblings Discounts 10% off each additional sibling. Discounts cannot be combined.
SUMMER ATTIRE Each child will receive two shirts. MLA t-shirts must be worn every day. Additional shirts may be purchased at $8.00 each. On Sprinkler Days campers need to come dressed in their swimsuit, must pack a towel, water shoes, a change of clothing, and a plastic bag (or other receptacle for wet swim suits). Participants must wear sneakers daily. Summer attire is distributed during the first day of MLA Summer.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The YMCA of Greater New York awards scholarships to campers based on a parent or a family’s annual income. The scholarship applications must be submitted by May 1, 2012.
