Support the 2014 Annual Campaign. The campaign focuses on the youth of New York City and providing them with resources to grow and learn. Contributions ensure that no child or family is turned away from life-enhancing YMCA programs because of the inability to pay. Each year, the Vanderbilt YMCA provides financial assistance to thousands of local youth and families in need. These requests are now rising to unprecedented levels. The Vanderbilt YMCA through its annual fund-raising, wants to be there to meet them. The YMCA exists to promote the healthy development of all kids and their families regardless of their financial means. Vanderbilt’s goal this year is $265,000. Each dollar contributed goes directly to making YMCA programs and memberships available to those in need.

For more information please contact Mary S. Park, Director of Fund Development and Communications at 212-912-2525 or mspark@ymcanyc.org.

Through the Vanderbilt YMCA’s Julia Richman Education Complex program, student Armani Brown was given a summer internship at Greenpoint, Brooklyn based piecompany, Pie Corps. Armani was recognized for her outstanding work by Pie Corps owner, Cheryl Perry, who said, “If Armani wasn’t leaving for college, I would hire her as an employee!” Through Vanderbilt, JREC offers school-based programs for teens ages 14-18, with a focus on leadership development, college readiness and the arts. 2
