Our camps are ACA Accredited The American Camp Association is the only nationwide organization that accredits children’s camps. The ACA Accreditation process is a commitment by camps to the highest standards of health, safety and program quality. Accreditation requirements include a focus on staff qualifications, training, supervision ratios and procedures, as well as operational management including safety regulations and emergency procedures and communications.

IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION PAYMENT METHOD Paying for camp is easy! Log online to pay your camp balance or stop by at our front desk. Two payment options are available for your convenience: 1. Pay now: Pay your full balance including a $25 nonrefundable deposit per camp week. 2. Pay later: Pay an upfront $25 nonrefundable deposit per camp week. The remainder of the balance will be due seven days before the first day of camp. Please note you will not be mailed an invoice. A balance due email will be sent to the email address you provide in your registration application. It saves to pay early! Full camp balances are due one week prior to the start of each camp. An additional $25 will be added to unpaid balances starting the Tuesday before camp. Your camper may lose their place in our roster if the balance isn’t paid.

DROP-OFF/ SIGN-OUT PROCEDURES To ensure an efficient drop-off process, please make sure you follow all posted drop-off instructions. A signature from a parent, guardian or authorized adult is required in our dailysign-in sheet for your child to participate in camp activities. For late arrivals, it will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian tosign-in and ensure your child gets to theirdesignated camp area. Only parents and/or guardians are authorized to sign a child out of our camp programs. If you need to add another person to yourauthorized pickup list, please make sure this isdocumented with our camp staff. All adults picking up a camper are required to present a photo ID.

A medical release/liability waiver must be submitted during the registration process.

IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION CANCELLATION POLICY We understand circumstances change and that you may need to revisit your camp options. Cancellation: Cancellation requests received prior to the start of the camp week will receive a 100 percent refund or Y-voucher minus the deposit. Requests received the first day of camp will receive a 75 percent refund or Y-voucher minus the deposit and camp vendor fees*. Additional service fees may be applied to credit card refunds. Refunds and Y-vouchers are not given if the cancellation request is received after the first day of camp. Missed camp and/or sick days are not eligible to receive refunds or Y-vouchers. *Certain branches and camps may have specific cancellation requirements outside of our general policy. Please check with your camp director to confirm a specific camp’s cancellation requirement.

MEDICATION Should your camper need to take medication during the program, we will administer as directed. The following items are essential for us to dispense any medication: • The medication will need to be checked in with a Day Camp Staff. Please do not leave the medication with your camper, including over the counter medication, epi-pens, inhalers, creams, eye drops, etc. • Medication must be in its original container with labeled prescription instructions. • A completed Medication Release form must be signed and submitted.

Y-Vouchers: Y-vouchers do not expire and are valid for any program at all YMCA locations in San Diego County. Y-vouchers can be transferred to another member of your family or friend. Transfer Request: Transfer requests are accepted through the Tuesday of the camp week. Camp fee differences must be paid at the time of transfer. All transfers are subject to availability.

FAQS Do you offer financial assistance?

We offer financial assistance through our Access Scholarship Program to qualified applicants ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Apply at ymcasd.org/access or pick up a confidential application at our front desk. We also accept third party payments from agencies such as CDA, CRS, KINSHIP, and Cal-Work.

What are the hours of camp?

Our camp day runs from 8:00am-3:45pm Monday-Friday. We also offer extended care before and after camp each day for your convenience. See page 3 for more information.

How will my camper be transported to field trips?

Transportation is provided through our buses. All vehicles are inspected and checked by licensed mechanics as well as the California Highway Patrol.

What do I need to send my camper with each day? We will supply the atmosphere for a great camp experience and ask that you send your camper with a lunch, at least 2 snacks, a water bottle and closed-toe shoes.

We recommend applying sunscreen before you get to camp and our camp staff will supply sunscreen to campers regularly throughout the day. During our afternoon extended care, we will provide a healthy snack for your kids after a long day of fun at camp!

Can you tell me more about camp fees and deposits? A $25 deposit is required for each week of camp. Deposits are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not subject to any discounts, promotions or financial assistance. Deposits are applied to the camp fee. Camp fees are the published rates in this brochure and are good up to the Monday before camp begins. Camp fees will increase $25 for registrations received Tuesday or later for the following week. Most camps will spend 2 rotations focusing on their specialty activity. The additional 2 rotations that occur throughout the day are spent at our Activity Stations which include activities like arts and crafts, STEAM, songs, games and more! A significant portion of the day is spent playing outside. Please make sure you apply sunscreen to your kids before dropping them off. Camp Marston is San Diegoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s oldest overnight camp. Located on over two hundred acres of pristine mountain land next to Lake Jessop, Camp Marston offers traditional overnight camps year round. With a variety of activities ranging from archery to arts and crafts, your child will have the ultimate camping experience.

This spectacular, 45-acre facility, right on the Pacific Ocean near San Diego is one of a kind! The oceanfront environment, filled with surfing, bodyboarding, and traditional camp activities, is the perfect setting for children and teens to develop the skills and relationships theyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll need to be confident, healthy, and connected.

Tucked away in the forest outside of Julian, our western- themed camp focuses on horseback riding, caring for horses and traditional camp fun! Guided by highly trained staff, campers learn responsibility and build confidence through fun-filled adventures with new friends and progressively structured horsemanship programs.

Y-TRANSIT SHUTTLE SERVICE Y-Transit is a busing program designed for your convenience that transports your campers from Y-Site to our Gymnastic Center and Mission Estancia locations. YMCA Camp staff members will be there to greet you and your camper and will ensure that they are signed into the proper camp program. In order to secure your spot on the bus, please be sure to register with the YMCA ahead of time. Campers are required to register for Y-Transit on the Friday before the week of service. Children must be at least six years of age to use our shuttle service. The Y-Site location will shuttle campers to Mission Estancia and Gymnastics Center in the morning and then back to the Y-site in the afternoon. The Y-Transit service CANNOT shuttle between the Gymnastics Center and Mission Estancia School site. Slide down on the inflatable structure, bounce on the floating trampoline, kayak across the lagoon, fly off the blob and hunt for crabs! For four days, campers travel to the YMCA’s Aquatic Park to swim, kayak, paddle board and play with all of the inflatables in the lagoon. Campers will travel to the beach on the day they are not at the YMCA Aquatic Park. All staff are lifeguard certified. Regardless of ability, all campers will wear lifejackets while in the water. Campers must bring sturdy shoes for activities and time on land.

SeaWorld

Campers will receive four hours a day of basic horsemanship instruction. The camp will include a 30-minute riding lesson each day that will focus on walking, trotting, posting and guiding. Campers will be partnered up for the entire week to care for their horse throughout the week! They’ll learn about horse safety, equestrian careers, how to identify different breeds and how to load a horse into a trailer. The following riding gear is required: riding boots or heavy leather, laceup (no Velcro) tennis shoes and long pants (No shorts or capris). Required riding helmets will be provided.

Campers will spend the week kayaking along the beautiful San Diego coast. They will also get to see what is under the water when they visit snorkeling sites in the Pacific. No special equipment required.

Splash camp will focus on swim instruction for the beginner to the intermediate swimmer. Campers will be taught how to perform basic strokes and gain confidence in the water. Campers will receive one 45-minute swimming lesson and one 45-minute “free swim” session each day combined with active games, crafts and other fun camp activities. Campers may be required to wear a life jacket during free swim.

This camp is designed to prepare your child for swim team. Partnering with our Ecke YMCA aquatics department, campers will learn the dynamics of swim and develop their skills to swim competitively. A pre-camp swim check is required for registered campers.

Spend the week traveling to a different water activity every day!

This camp is designed for the first-time or beginner surfer and the camper who loves to be in the water. Activities include surfing, body boarding, body surfing and other water games. Our goal is for each camper to stand up and ride the waves at Swami’s Beach! The Ecke Y has a limited supply of instructional surfboards to loan and for campers to share. Campers with their own surfboards are welcome to bring them daily or leave them at the Ecke Y for the week. All Surf Camp staff are certified as lifeguards and are experienced around the waterfront. Families are invited to eat lunch with campers and watch our traditional surf competition on Fridays at Swamis Beach in Encinitas.

Wild Water Week

Campers will travel to different beaches around the county or to the Carlsbad lagoon. Campers will be grouped up and with a counselor while participating in water activities to ensure their safety.

11-16 years $372 | $437 Weeks 3, 7 | Ecke Campers will travel to Camp Pendleton during the week for an ultimate paintball play experience including 3-3.5 hours of paintball per day, depending on travel time. When paintballing, all campers should wear pants and shoes with excellent traction. Gloves are recommended and are not provided. Coveralls, face masks and all paintball equipment will be provided. Safety conscious referees will be present during all paintballing. Please note that extra clothing is advised to provide additional padding.

Teen Rockclimbing

Enjoy the sport of rock climbing with your friends. This camp is designed for teens to learn new rock climbing skills and hangout with their friends. The day will include a morning session of lessons from a professional rock climber at Vertical Hold and then spend the afternoon applying those skills.

Teen Top Chef

11-16 years $280 | $329 Weeks 8 | ME This more advanced cooking camp curriculum is designed for older chefs who can take on more culinary responsibilities and challenges. Teens will have more freedom in creating their own recipes when faced with a secret ingredient of the day.

Teen Water Sports

11-16 years $355 | $418 Weeks 3 | ME Campers spend days at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center enjoying the sun and the water. Campers have the opportunity to paddleboard, surf, kayak and snorkel. Campers must be able to swim 100 yards and tread water for 5 minutes. No other experience required.

Y-TRANSIT SHUTTLE SERVICE Y-Transit is a busing program designed for your convenience that transports campers from Mission Estancia Elementary and Y-Site location. YMCA Camp staff members will be there to greet you and your camper and will ensure that they are signed into the proper camp program. In order to secure your spot on the bus, please be sure to register with the YMCA ahead of time. Campers are required to register for Y-Transit 24 hours in advance to be able to use this service. Children must be at least six years of age to use our shuttle service. Please check your child in at the Y-Transit site in the morning with the staff member on duty. When the bus returns in the afternoon, each child will need to be signed out by an adult on your childâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Authorized Pick Up List. Identification will be required. A Permission to Walk Slip (camper must be at least 13 years old) is required for your child to exit the bus and wait or walk home without adult supervision. If an authorized person is not at the Gymnastics Center to pick up your child, he or she will be returned to the YMCA main facility after the route has been completed. Associated late pick up fees will be applied to any camper that is not picked up within the scheduled time frame. The Y-Site location will shuttle campers to and from Mission Estancia and Gymnastics center. Mission Estancia school site will shuttle campers to and from Y-Site. The Y-Transit service CANNOT shuttle between the Gymnastics Center and Mission Estancia School site.
