Our camps are ACA Accredited The American Camp Association is the only nationwide organization that accredits children’s camps. The ACA Accreditation process is a commitment by camps to the highest standards of health, safety and program quality. Accreditation requirements include a focus on staff qualifications, training, supervision ratios and procedures, as well as operational management including safety regulations and emergency procedures and communications.

Traditional camps are ultra-spirited, fun-filled camps with weekly themes that guide activities and trips for the week. Your camper will be traveling on special adventures throughout San Diego: visiting theme parks, swimming, going to local parks and beaches, or simply having a great time on-site at the YMCA!

IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION PAYMENT METHOD Paying for camp is easy! Log online to pay your camp balance or stop by at our front desk. Two payment options are available for your convenience: 1. Pay now: Pay your full balance including a $25 nonrefundable deposit per camp week. 2. Pay later: Pay an upfront $25 nonrefundable deposit per camp week. The remainder of the balance will be due seven days before the first day of camp. Please note you will not be mailed an invoice. A balance due email will be sent to the email address you provide in your registration application. It saves to pay early! Full camp balances are due one week prior to the start of each camp. An additional $25 will be added to unpaid balances starting the Tuesday before camp. Your camper may lose their place in our roster if the balance isn’t paid.
DROP-OFF/ SIGN-OUT PROCEDURES To ensure an efficient drop-off process, please make sure you follow all posted drop-off instructions. A signature from a parent, guardian or authorized adult is required in our daily sign-in sheet for your child to participate in camp activities. For late arrivals, it will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian to sign-in and ensure your child gets to their designated camp area. Only parents and/or guardians are authorized to sign a child out of our camp programs. If you need to add another person to your authorized pickup list, please make sure this is documented with our camp staff. All adults picking up a camper are required to present a photo ID.
A medical release/liability waiver must be submitted during the registration process.

IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION CANCELLATION POLICY We understand circumstances change and that you may need to revisit your camp options. Cancellation: Cancellation requests received prior to the start of the camp week will receive a 100 percent refund or Y-voucher minus the deposit. Requests received the first day of camp will receive a 75 percent refund or Y-voucher minus the deposit and camp vendor fees*. Additional service fees may be applied to credit card refunds. Refunds and Y-vouchers are not given if the cancellation request is received after the first day of camp. Missed camp and/or sick days are not eligible to receive refunds or Y-vouchers. *Certain branches and camps may have specific cancellation requirements outside of our general policy. Please check with your camp director to confirm a specific camp’s cancellation requirement.
MEDICATION Should your camper need to take medication during the program, we will administer as directed. The following items are essential for us to dispense any medication: • The medication will need to be checked in with a Day Camp Staff. Please do not leave the medication with your camper, including over the counter medication, epi-pens, inhalers, creams, eye drops, etc. • Medication must be in its original container with labeled prescription instructions. • A completed Medication Release form must be signed and submitted.
Y-Vouchers: Y-vouchers do not expire and are valid for any program at all YMCA locations in San Diego County. Y-vouchers can be transferred to another member of your family or friend. Transfer Request: Transfer requests are accepted through the Tuesday of the camp week. Camp fee differences must be paid at the time of transfer. All transfers are subject to availability.

FAQS Do you offer financial assistance?
We offer financial assistance through our Access Scholarship Program to qualified applicants ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Apply at ymcasd.org/access or pick up a confidential application at our front desk. We also accept third party payments from agencies such as CDA, CRS, KINSHIP, and Cal-Work.
What are the hours of camp?
Our camp day runs from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. We also offer extended care before and after camp each day for your convenience.
How will my camper be transported to field trips?
Transportation is provided through our buses. All vehicles are inspected and checked by licensed mechanics as well as the California Highway Patrol.
What do I need to send my camper with each day? We will supply the atmosphere for a great camp experience and ask that you send your camper with a lunch, at least 2 snacks, a water bottle and closed-toe shoes.
We recommend applying sunscreen before you get to camp and our camp staff will supply sunscreen to campers regularly throughout the day. During our afternoon extended care, we will provide a healthy snack for your kids after a long day of fun at camp!
Can you tell me more about camp fees and deposits? A $25 deposit is required for each week of camp. Deposits are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not subject to any discounts, promotions or financial assistance. Deposits are applied to the camp fee. Camp fees are the published rates in this brochure and are good up to the Monday before camp begins. Camp fees will increase $25 for registrations received Tuesday or later for the following week. To discuss payment options, please contact the Camp Director.

This summer, take a shot at a fun sport with archery experts! With steady hands, and straight aim, our little archers will be learning about equipment, shooting, and technique. Campers will also participate in themed craft activities and games. All equipment needed to participate will be included thanks to our expert Archery vendor!
Pick out your best BEYBLADES and come battle other bladers to see who will come out on top! This week is all about everyone’s favorite battle tops. Campers will compete every day, and work in teams to become a BEYBLADE master!

Dance camp is for everyone!
This camp is made for all hockey enthusiasts, whether they are beginner or intermediate players. Daily lessons will focus on techniques such as balance, stick work, speed and teamwork, followed by a public skate session. Skates are provided. Parents are invited to a basic skills showcase on Friday!
Campers will have daily dance lessons to learn several styles of dance and perfect their technique and coordination. Throughout the week, campers will work together with our professional dance instructors to create a routine to be performed at the end of the week for parents, family and friends to see! Performance will take place on Friday.
Dave & Busters 8-12 years $251 | $295 Week 6 | BA Get into the fun at Dave and Buster’s! Campers will travel to Dave and Buster’s and have access to play for two hours a day! The remainder of the day will be spent at the Mottino YMCA where campers will participate in other exciting challenges and camp activities.

Ice Skating 6-11 years $251 | $295 Week 5 | BA This camp is designed to be a fun and educational experience for beginner and intermediate ice skaters. Traveling to San Diego Ice Arena, campers will get 30 minutes of instructional lessons every day. Lessons are followed by a four-hour public session where they will skate to the latest tunes. Parents are invited to a basic skills show on Friday. Skates are provided. However, campers may bring their own skates and gloves.

Campers will combine arts and crafts, drama, and creative play as they design tiaras, receive spa-like treatments, and much more. As if this wasn’t enough, campers will meet a real princess in camp!

Flip, tumble and do the splits at gymnastics camp!
The YMCA is proud to offer this exciting and immensely popular camp. Campers of all ability levels enjoy the full range of the laser tag experience including exciting team-building and game-tactical components. During the camp week, campers will play a wide variety of game formats and become seasoned players. They will discover their inner leader as they chart out their teams’ strategies and learn how to best achieve the goals of each game.
Campers will travel to the Palomar Family YMCA Gymnastics Center in Escondido throughout the week. Campers will receive ability specific instruction by expert Y gymnastics coaches each day. The foam pit is calling!
**Please note:** This is a physical activity played in a dimly-lit maze with strobe lights, loud music and other players. Please consult with camp staff if your child has any special conditions.

Reptile Adventure
This camp will take campers through the various aspects of theatre, and through the many steps that go into creating a successful performance at any level of theatre. Your child will work with our professional actors/theatre directors as we go through casting, rehearsal, stage and prop design, choreography, and much more; all leading up to the matinée performance at the end of the week. This camp is a great way to build confidence and public speaking skills! It also sets groundwork for aspiring theater artist.

Campers will enjoy the gross side of the science world as they learn to make slime, alka-seltzer rockets and other fun projects. Additionally, campers will also participate in yucky games and activities only designed for the real Ooey Gooey scientist!
Different name, same camp! Slither into the world of reptiles! For two hours a day, campers will check out and touch real snakes, lizards, turtles, tarantulas, hedgehogs, millipedes and others! In addition, campers will do many different fun activities that investigate the lives and habitats of these reptiles. This camp is totally hands-on and enhanced by arts and crafts, games and various projects related to these animals. This camp is a unique experience that is continuously a hit!
Slime Factory 5-8 years $234 | $275 Week 3 | BA Thanks to the overwhelming popularity of our Ooey Gooey Science camp, we bring to you Slime Factory! With a focus on all-things-slime, campers will create multiple types of slime, conduct experiments with slime, and work together in groups while learning the science behind all types of nonNewtonian fluids! Travel to SeaWorld to spend five full days exploring every inch of the park! Campers will ride the rides and see the shows during this weeklong marine experience. Campers will interact with every exhibit SeaWorld has to offer and learn all about the sea life animals throughout their week! The best part of all is your camper will bring home a SeaWorld Fun Card to return to SeaWorld anytime throughout the year! Please notify the service center at the time of registration if you already have an annual pass. Vendor fee is nonrefundable.
The Mottino Family YMCA partners with the world-famous San Diego Zoo to give you a VIP experience you won’t forget. A zoo guru will spend a full hour touring campers behind the scenes at some of your favorite exhibits. On Monday, take a bus tour to get a great overview of the entire zoo. See some of the phenomenal flora and fauna at one of the world’s largest botanical gardens. If you love monkeying around, this expedition is for you. Don’t forget your walking shoes!

Campers will receive a swim lesson Monday-Friday by a certified swim instructor. They will enjoy free swim time in the morning and the afternoon in the main pool or the activity pool. Please pack sunscreen and a hat for protection from the sun. Campers will also enjoy other fun games and activities all week long!
The Leaders in Training program is required each year for all participants regardless of past experience in the program. In this training, your teen will interact in developing the idea of what a leader does and how a leader acts. In addition, there will be specific training on camp leadership skills; working with 5-12 year olds, camp songs, games and crafts. All participants will get CPR and First Aid Certified.

This exciting camp will travel to the Paintball Park at Camp Pendleton and use lightweight, spring-loaded, pump-action equipment and extra small paintballs for ammo. Perfect for younger children who want to play paintball without worrying about any loud noises or leaving with a bruise. It’s 100% pain-less and 100% fun!
LIT Fieldwork is an opportunity for LIT’s who have successfully completed our training course to use their leadership skills in the field of camp and enjoy the rewards of working with the YMCA’s incredible staff team. LITs will experience various camp programs, assist in the daily operations of camp, and receive valuable onthe-job experience that will help build a strong foundation for either a recreational or childcare career. Teens will be placed into age-appropriate camps prior to the start of the fieldwork week. If you sign up over the weekend, your camp placement will be made Monday morning by 8:30am. Join our team in making a difference in the lives of many young campers this summer while earning school-required volunteer service hours!
Top Chef 5-9 years $251 | $295 Week 5 | BA The competition is on! Who will be the YMCA’s best chef? Our goal is to create a restaurant in one week. Everyday, campers will learn how to follow and create recipes as they learn to make appetizers, entrées and desserts! Campers will be divided into teams for the competitions and at the end of the week, the teams will serve a meal to friends and family the Friday afternoon of camp. Take a bite out of this camp!
