Our camps are ACA Accredited The American Camp Association is the only nationwide organization that accredits children’s camps. The ACA Accreditation process is a commitment by camps to the highest standards of health, safety and program quality. Accreditation requirements include a focus on staff qualifications, training, supervision ratios and procedures, as well as operational management including safety regulations and emergency procedures and communications.

Traditional camps are ultra-spirited, fun-filled camps with weekly themes that guide activities and trips for the week. Your camper will be traveling on special adventures throughout San Diego: visiting theme parks, taking swim lessons, going to local parks and beaches, or simply having a great time on-site at the YMCA!

Join Y Day Camp for a week or an entire summer of fun! New experiences, skill building, a sense of community and lasting friendships are all part of traditional day camps. Trained camp leaders focus on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all of our activities to maximize fun during the day! Set in the YMCA style of different crazy activities and themes each week, your camper will participate in team-building games, arts and crafts, science experiments and more!

Tailored specifically for families who only need a single day or a partial week of camp, we have the perfect solution. Daily Camp gives you the flexibility of having camp when you want it. Enjoy the spirit and excitement of camp, with the option of signing up for any single day of camp — minus worrying about any late fees or a full-week commitment! Campers will typically join one of our onsite or part-time traveling camps. Campers may have the opportunity to swim during the week.
Is your camper ready for an action packed day filled with tons of take homes, activities that match the theme of the week, swimming each afternoon, and unbelievable camp spirit? Then Pioneers is for you. This camp focuses on fantastic programming, character development, building friendships and having FUN! Ready to level up your gaming skills? From Magic the Gathering to Pokémon, this camp offers a wide selection of fun group games and board games that are challenging and exciting! This week, campers will learn important social skills and conflict resolution while they enjoy all of the game-tastic fun. Get ready to strategize, compete, and play in a friendly environment. Come ride with us this summer! Campers will spend their days at Miller Horse Ranch, learning basics of equestrian instruction, haltering, leading, tying, riding, grooming, and tacking. Please note: long pants and hard sole shoes or boots with heel are required. Tennis shoes are not allowed. Safety riding helmet is provided.
After a morning of traditional camp activities at our Y, gymnasts will be heading to the state of-the-art Gymnastics Center at G3 Kids where they are grouped by age and ability. For three hours per day they’ll receive gymnastics instruction including: basic tumbling, equipment stations, low beams, and the ever popular foam pit. They’ll finish the week with a parent performance on Friday.

Laser Tag
Experience the sport of fishing by traveling to local hot spots. Campers will learn basic fishing techniques in a fun and safe environment. Campers will fish in local areas, but on one highlighted trip they will also experience a day of deep-sea fishing in the Pacific Ocean. Camper must bring their own rod and tackle. Bait will be provided by the YMCA.
The YMCA is proud to offer this exciting and immensely popular camp. Campers of all ability levels enjoy the full range of the laser tag experience including exciting team-building and gametactical components. During the camp week, campers will play a wide variety of game formats and become seasoned players. They will discover their inner leader as they chart out there teams’ strategies and learn how to best achieve the goals of each game.

Traveling to San Diego Ice Arena, campers will get 30 minutes of instructional lessons every day. Lessons are followed by a three-hour public session where they will skate to the latest tunes. Campers will receive two hours of daily instruction in the fundamentals of rock climbing at Vertical Hold Gym, San Diego’s premier indoor rock climbing facility. Ocean Discovery

Each days activities focus on the different principles of ocean literacy, which explains our impact on the ocean and the ocean’s impact on the rest of the world. Paddle & Sailing

They will get an orientation and practice time on both of these two popular sport activities. Surf
Ages 8-13 • $245/$284 • Catalog Tag: 35CPSURF Surf’s up! Come hang ten with us this summer, and get your feet wet in the world of surfing in a safe, supervised, fun environment with YMCA surf staff. Start the week off on the beach learning how to pop up on your board and read the ocean. We will investigate different sets, breaks and tides. Surfers will learn paddling techniques and ultimately how to drop into the wave with our experienced instructors, who will also teach about water safety and equipment care. Daily instruction will be based on the ability levels of our campers, who will average two hours per day in the water. Our young surfers will also participate in beach sports and games. All campers must pass a swim test conducted in our YMCA pool at 8:00 am Monday morning. This test consists of swimming freestyle one length of the pool and treading water for one minute.

L.I.T. Training
Campers will spend three hours each afternoon swimming, tubing, knee boarding and taking jet-ski rides on beautiful Mission Bay.
In this training, your teen will interact in developing the idea of what a leader does and how a leader acts. In addition, there will be specific training on camp leadership skills; working with 5-12 year olds, camp songs, games, and crafts. All participants will get CPR and First AID Certified. The Leaders in training program is required each year for all participants regardless of past experience in the program.

IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION DROP-OFF/ SIGN-OUT PROCEDURES
PAYMENT METHOD Paying for camp is easy! Log online to pay your camp balance or stop by at our front desk. Two payment options are available for your convenience: 1. Pay now: Pay your full balance including a $25 nonrefundable deposit per camp week. 2. Pay later: Pay an upfront $25 nonrefundable deposit per camp week. The remainder of the balance will be due seven days before the first day of camp. Please note you will not be mailed an invoice. A balance due email will be sent to the email address you provide in your registration application. It saves to pay early! Full camp balances are due one week prior to the start of each camp. An additional $25 will be added to unpaid balances starting the Tuesday before camp. Your camper may lose their place on our roster if the balance isn’t paid.
To ensure an efficient drop-off process, please make sure you follow all posted drop-off instructions. A signature from a parent, guardian or authorized adult is required in our daily sign-in sheet for your child to participate in camp activities. For late arrivals, it will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian to sign-in and ensure your child gets to their designated camp area. Only parents and/or guardians are authorized to sign a child out of our camp programs. If you need to add another person to your authorized pick-up list, please make sure this is documented with our camp staff. All adults picking up a camper are required to present a photo ID.
An active membership is required at the time of the program start date to receive the member discount.
A medical release/liability waiver must be submitted during the registration process.

IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION CANCELLATION POLICY We understand circumstances change and that you may need to revisit your camp options. Cancellation: Cancellation requests received prior to the start of the camp week will receive a 100 percent refund or Y-voucher minus the deposit. Requests received the first day of camp will receive a 75 percent refund or Y-voucher minus the deposit and camp vendor fees*. Additional service fees may be applied to credit card refunds. Refunds and Y-vouchers are not given if the cancellation request is received after the second day of camp. Missed camp and/or sick days are not eligible to receive refunds or Y-vouchers. *Certain branches and camps may have specific cancellation requirements outside of our general policy. Please check with your camp director to confirm a specific camp’s cancellation requirement.
MEDICATION Should your camper need to take medication during the program, we will administer as directed. The following items are essential for us to dispense any medication: • The medication will need to be checked in with a Day Camp Staff. Please do not leave the medication with your camper, including over the counter medication, epi-pens, inhalers, creams, eye drops, etc. • Medication must be in its original container with labeled prescription instructions. • A completed Medication Release form must be signed and submitted.
Y-Vouchers: Y-vouchers do not expire and are valid for any program at all YMCA locations in San Diego County. Y-vouchers can be transferred to another member of your family or friend. Transfer Request: Transfer requests are accepted through the Tuesday of the camp week. Camp fee differences must be paid at the time of transfer. All transfers are subject to availability.

FAQS Do you offer financial assistance?
We offer financial assistance through our Access Scholarship Program to qualified applicants ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Apply at ymcasd.org/access or pick up a confidential application at our front desk. We also accept third party payments from agencies such as CDA, CRS, KINSHIP, and Cal-Work.
What are the hours of camp?
Our camp day runs from 8:30 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday. We also offer extended care before and after camp each day for your convenience.
How will my camper be transported to field trips?
Transportation is provided through our buses. All vehicles are inspected and checked by licensed mechanics as well as the California Highway Patrol.
What do I need to send my camper with each day?
We will supply the atmosphere for a great camp experience and ask that you send your camper with a lunch, sunscreen, at least two snacks, a refillable water bottle and closed-toe shoes. We recommend applying sunscreen before you get to camp and our camp staff will supply sunscreen to campers regularly throughout the day. During our afternoon extended care, we will provide a healthy snack for your kids after a long day of fun at camp!
Can you tell me more about camp fees and deposits? A $25 deposit is required for each week of camp. Deposits are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not subject to any discounts, promotions or financial assistance. Deposits are applied to the camp fee. Camp fees are the published rates in this brochure and are good up to the Monday before camp begins. Camp fees will increase $25 for registrations received Tuesday or later for the following week. To discuss payment options, please contact the Camp Director.

Camp Marston is San Diego’s oldest overnight camp. Located on over two hundred acres of pristine mountain land next to Lake Jessop, Camp Marston offers traditional overnight camps year round. With a variety of activities ranging from archery to arts and crafts, your child will have the ultimate camping experience.
RAINTREE RANCH | Grades 4-12
Tucked away in the forest outside of Julian, our westernthemed camp focuses on horseback riding, caring for horses and traditional camp fun! Guided by highly trained staff, campers learn responsibility and build confidence through fun-filled adventures with new friends and progressively structured horsemanship programs.

This spectacular, 45-acre facility, right on the Pacific Ocean near San Diego is one of a kind!
