Sit in a Hot Box for 40 Minutes? Why Would I Ever Want to Do That?

Here are just a few of the health benefits:

• Reduce Inflammation

• Increase Circulation

• Detoxify

• Boost the Immune System

• Reduce Stress and Fatigue

• Improve Skin

Why an infrared sauna and not a conventional dry sauna?

Conventional dry saunas have an indirect heating mechanism that heats the air (usually hot rocks). You step into the hot air and it warms you from the outside in. You sweat and get the health benefits of sweating.

Infrared Saunas heat with infrared waves that penetrate your muscles and tissues approximately 1.5 inches deep. The infrared waves are at a frequency that cause the water in your cells to vibrate. Your body is warmed sort of from the inside out. This vibration reduces ion bonds and the eventual breakdown of the water molecules causes encapsulated gasses and other toxic material to be released. Inflammation is reduced, toxins are expelled and circulation increases. Yes, you also sweat and get the health benefits of sweating like with a conventional dry sauna, but you get so much more at a lower temperature.

How long before I notice a difference?

That’s an impossible question, but I’ll try to answer it anyway. Results can be different for everyone, of course, but it’s very common for our clients to report a noticable difference after just one sauna visit. Some of the changes they reported after a first visit include reduced pain from inflammatory conditions, clearer thinking, muscle relaxation and better sleep.

Have these benefits been proven?

Yes. Credible information can be found in studies by Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, the National Center for Biotechnology Information and the Mayo Clinic, for starters. Supporting information is also easy to find in online magazine articles such as Women’s Health Magazine and Prevention Magazine. Be aware however, there is also plenty of hype and incorrect information available. Always be careful to verify the source and the motivation of the information you research.

Testimonies alone are not hard proof, but they are compelling. At our center, people have reported:

“I feel like someone oiled my joints.”

“After sitting at work I can stand up and just start walking again. I don’t have to lean on my desk and wait a few seconds first.”

“My back doesn't ache anymore.”“I sleep well for 3 nights after each visit.”

I am not a doctor or a certified health professional. I am just a person that has always had an interest in health and wellness and stumbled upon infrared saunas while trying to figure out how to not lose my flexibility as I get old. When I find something that works I like to share it with others. Infrared saunas are not the fix for everything that ails you, but they do great things for many people. Be sure to give one a try soon.
