Currently, I am a senior exchange student at the University of California, Davis, visiting from Thammasat University in Bangkok for one year. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication, majoring in Mass Media Studies. The reason I am applying to this position owes to my interest, and practical experience, in both marketing and event planning roles.

As my resume indicates, I have extensive experience that is relevant to the position you are offering. During my time as an elected Event Planner in the Student Committee of my home university, I gained the communication and organizational skills that are crucial to successfully organizing groups and various activities, proficiently working within time constraints, and managing budgetary limitations. To add, my recent participation in the 2009 Disney Marketing Award, a national competition in which junior and senior student from different universities compete to propose the most practical marketing plan for the “UP� Disney movie, provided me with the direct skills required of the position you are offering. My tasks of planning and implementing an online and offline marketing strategy, which included a micro site and in-theater promotional activities, allowed me to improve my ability to work under pressure while identifying the target customer and establishing practical strategies to increase sales volumes.

Additionally, working as a Special Events Assistant at the Fan C Pro Company Ltd. of Bangkok provided me with equally important and relevant skills. I was trained to tackle the problems that arise at major conference events. I regularly assisted in building rapport with customers by email and phone, setting up the conference site, supporting exhibitors with presentation audio and lighting, and providing necessary services for conference presenters.
