Dymo Labelwriter High Speed Software 1752265 Survey I was a little worried at first when I ordered this label printer. I sell on eBay and use the PayPal multi-order shipping tool. I was not sure if this model (450 turbo) would be compatible. They list the former model (400/400 turbo) I emailed PayPal and they assured me this would in deed work with their system. I have been using the label printer for a couple months now with no issues! When using the PayPal shipping I just have to select Dymo 400 turbo before printing. I ordered label 99019 and they are perfect for printing address, postage and confirmation all on one label. The labels print in seconds! It has saved so much time and I know that in no time at all the price of the printer will be made up for in the money I will save on paper, ink and packing tape! Set-up was easy. I have been told the included software is no good, but I printed a return address label just to try it and it seems pretty easy. My fiance needed a receipt printer for her new business. When I first started looking, I had found only "true" POS-style receipt printers costing $300+. Knowing that receipt printers are simply overpriced thermal printers, I decided to look for thermal printers not billed as receipt printers. I dont know why I didnt think of Dymo first! This is a great product that is designed with label and postage printing in mind, but Dymo sells continuous thermal receipt paper rolls for it as well. This turns out to be the most cost efficient thermal receipt printer on the market, IMO. This is exactly what I was looking for. Only 4 stars, because I dont want Dymo to think theres no room for improvement. The physical printer is great. I love being able to print an address label and then ten seconds later do a stamp without having to switch rolls of paper. I just spent the last half hour trying to figure out how to print postage to mail a book. I could not find the option to print $2. 77 worth of postage (for a media mail package), no matter how hard I looked. And then I learned, from the DYMO website, that despite the listing for this item stating that we can, "Print USPS As a printer the 450 Turbo works well at generating labels of all sizes for me. As a way to print postage at home it was very convenient and one of the main reasons I purchased the machine. The Dymo/Endica software change currently going into effect makes the Dymo Printable Postage software require an activation code to print postage. This is an outrageous change because the only way to get an activation code is to purchase a new roll of Dymo/Endica stamp labels thereby precluding people from using 3d party labels. When I bought the printer there was no mention of such restrictions, now if I want to use my printer for the functions that were advertised at the time of purchase, I have to jump through Dymo's hoops and pay them a monopoly price for labels. I've used all kinds of labels in this machine, Dymo's and 3d party labels. All of them have worked equally well. I think it is outrageous that they are holding the stamp printing function hostage by forcing people to buy their products. I freely concede that this would not be outrageous behavior by Dymo/Endica if they had always had this requirement and all purchasers spent their money knowing that this was how things were going to work. It is, however, morally wrong to make a unilateral retroactive change to the deal their customers agreed to by purchasing their products. With this change, Dymo/Endica is killing all the goodwill they built up by having nice products and alienating their formerly fanatical customers. Dymo\Endicia has recently announced a new anti-competitive policy whereby they are going to require their own branded postage labels at about 9x the cost of other vendors. Therefore, be aware prior to buying this printer that you will be paying up to 17% more per letter mailed when using this printer for self-postage. For those that do not care about postage, the printer is otherwise a decent model but product support does lack in terms of quality and timeliness.
