Rocketfish Rf Afmse Optical Mouse Survey I just got this mouse because my Mighty Mouse scroll ball wouldn't scroll anymore. I tried cleaning it and it would work for about a week but I finally gave up. I've only been using it for a little while but so far it seems very good, possibly better than the Mighty Mouse. I like how the scroll wheel glows red, that is something cool the Mighty Mouse didn't have. Also the left and right click are much easier to press without having to worry about pressing the wrong one (it is like they are separate buttons). One thing that it doesn't have though are the side buttons but that function can easily be accessed through the keyboard anyway. One thing I have to mention though is to purchase this at Best Buy, there it was only $19. 99, much less than what this site is charging. I spent countless hours of researching, reviewing, and debating which mouse to buy for my Mac. I finally bought this mouse and must say that I am very impressed with it's functions and ease of use. Great alternative to the Apple Mighty Mouse. Compliments my new iMac and MacBook Pro while cosmetically maintaining the aluminum/white color scheme with a white gloss finish and white cord. This optical mouse is as accurate as my laser Apple Magic Mouse with MagicPrefs application. No buyer's remorse! Download SteerMouse application to commit commands for Buttons, Wheel, Tilt Wheel, and Cursor. Set your own preferences for left or right hand functions. Example settings. . . Buttons: Left button=Click Right Button=Contextual Menu Middle Button=Expose' All Windows Wheel: Roll Up and Roll Down with Acceleration Scroll Tilt Wheel: cmd + Left Arrow (Back) and cmd + Right Arrow (Forward) Cursor: Tracking Speed and Sensitivity . . . and more! I purchased this product because it looks great with the rest of Apple's products. It actually says Rockefish Apple Mouse on the bottom and shows up that way in the Apple Profiler. I actually loved my Apple Mouse but after a year and a half, the scroll wheel completely quit working after many feeble attempts to clean it. I had my eye on this for sometime and decided to try it at BestBuy. I figured I could return it if I didn't like it. Needless to say, it's staying with me. It's a little louder on the clicks than the Apple Mouse, but the scrolling works great. No software to install, it uses the Apple control panel. You will need to turn the Tracking speed down compared to the Apple Mouse which was up rather high for me. I have this one on the fourth setting over from "Slow". The Apple Mouse I had almost all the way over on "Fast". I first thought the mouse was broken because of this but then I read that it processes more dpi than the Apple Mouse does. The sideways scroll works great albeit slower than the sideways scroll on the Apple Mouse. The main thing is. . this scroll wheel won't get clogged! You can pick this up for about $20 at best buy and even cheaper on ebay so shop around. If you don't like it you can always take it back and exchange it for another Apple Mighty Mouse. This is the only mouse I found that comes close to complementing the Apple Design! I hope this helps! Bought this as a backup for the ever problematic Mighty Mouse. Works well and hopefully is more reliable. This is a decent mouse for the money- fast functional and it looks good. I would buy this mouse again. Better than the battery mouse that came with my mac.
