Skipdr Wii Disc Repair Clean Survey I have 4 kids and lots of games/dvd's. So many scratches. I bought this system and tried it on a DVD that was scratched in several places. I ran it through as instructed and popped it in the DVD player and it worked great. Same with my scratched WII game. I thought the instructions were easy although it did take me a moment to realize that the disc will drop in when you start the process. I would also like to have seen an autostop rather than having to stop it manually but that is very minor. I will be giving this as a gift to friends with kids, it is a great product and 1 saved game will pay for it. I'm addicted to gadgets but I agonized over whether or not it would be worth it to buy a Skip Dr. again. Bought my first hand crank model years ago. It was clunky but it worked until the tabs that hold the disk broke after much abuse on my part. I'm going back to my CD music collection to restore some lost music after an unexpected computer burnout. Spent the extra money on this little beauty (cause its battery powered) and it worked great for about two and a half disks before the internal gearing stripped out. I'm disappointed it didn't last long. 25 discs per wheel is ok, 2 is not. I've written Digital Innovations asking for a replacement so we'll see what happens. If you are seeing this review and it isn't updated, no response was received. Hopefully I hear back soon but it has already been two days so. . . 1/19/2013 Quick update. So far nothing from the manufacturer. The retailer I purshased it from on 12/15/2012 allowed a swap even though it was past their 30 day limit so that's good news. Haven't run any discs through but yet but upped my review by a star. I'll keep track of how many discs I run through. 1/22/2013 Great news. Although it took a little longer than expected, I have a reply from Digital Innovations. They apologized for the delayed response and provided me with an 800 number to call. Hopefully with this replacement I won't need it. So far, just one disk through the new unit. Most superficial scratches came off fine. Scratches you can feel with your nail won't come out although they are better. The disc is never going to be in "new" condition but at least it is back to playable. Bumped the rating to 4 stars, one off for reliability; hopefully I just had a bum unit. 7/4/13 So far so good. If you need a disc polisher, this one will do the job. I now have recovered ten Wii games that would no longer play on my Wii console. Worth the purchase to have this product. So I ordered this to try and restore some life to the old Wii discs we have. We didn't even get through the first disc before it stopped rotating the disc and wore a grove into the disc we were trying to repair. When we tried to return it to Amazon we were told we had to try and resolve it with the seller first. The seller offered to sell us another identical unit and then we could return ours for a credit after that. Since this thing conked out at the first sight of a disc I don't want another one. That was the only replacement option and Amazon told us since a replacement was offered and we didn't take it they wouldn't do any thing. So now I'm out the $** AND can't repair the games. Disappointed and dismayed. It does exactly what it is supposed to do! Our Mario Kart game would not work. We ran it through this machine, and it works fine.
