The Ultimate Keyboard Chord Chart Survey Review the sample pages of this book & take notice that it says "chords are positioned near the middle C". What that translates to is that several chords are presented with C being the middle note, e. g. , a C Major chord is shown as G-C-E, which is C Major's 2nd inversion! This format is repeated for its modified forms as well. WHY would they call this the Ultimate Chord Book, and then throw out the basic format on several notes? To start from a chord's 2nd inversion without a clear indication of doing so, but rather ambiguously saying "positioned near middle C" is very misleading for any beginner and frankly doing them a disservice. Additionally, this "Ultimate Chord Chart" provides augmented chords, but not diminished. What? That's right! it has diminished 7th chords, but not basic diminished. One cannot effectively teach oneself keyboard chords via this book since the illustrator will confuse the self learner by omitting certain chord formats and misrepresenting chords as "basic" but inverting them instead. This has been very helpful to me in learning to play the piano. The other review is right, it could have had even more information in it. & if you already have you chords memorized and are fairly advanced it might confuse you. (My Grandpa who's been playing since he was a kid didn't care for it. ) But I, in trying to teach myself, have found it indispensable. Also, it explains (on the very last page) the basics of chord theory & how you can arrange chords and such. I use it almost every time I'm learning a new piece & it's quite helpful!! It's also great if you are trying to write songs. I would reccomend getting
