01CONCEPTUAL MIXED-USE COMPLEX FALL 2011

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

A conceptual mixed use complex within the urban fabric of downtown San Francisco that provides a perfect blend into the existing context of the neighborhood it’s in. Within the Complex, there are apartments, a hotel, and an Institute for Sustainable design. Ground Level provides plenty of public outdoor space that is carried vertically throughout the complex in the forms of roof gardens and outdoor private spaces.

02 KANDAHAR UNIVERSITY LIBRARY SPRING 2012

KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN

Kandahar University is a progressive campus located in southern Afghanistan. The current main library lacks enough space to house the university’s extensive collection, so the challenge was to design a library that not only took square footage into account, but provided a modern addition to the campus that incorporated cultural influences such as: materials, the courtyard and shading screens.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

Fremont, a Seattle neighborhood, has various events that range from Octoberfest, the Solstice parade, outdoor movie nights, and art walks. This is an intervention that aids in the overall energy of the Fremont neighborhood. Within the boundaries of the site, the program consists of a small craft brewery, spaces for novice brewers that can be rented out as an alternative to home brewing, a bar, a lofted event space and an outdoor beer garden.

ARTIST 04 CASCADE CO-OP

FALL 2013 SEATTLE, WASHINGTON Seattle is well known for many things, and one of those things is its art scene. Within a close proximity of the Cascade neighborhood, there is the Pilchuck Glass Blowing School and the Cornish School of Art. With the influences of those in mind, three goals were established: bring more of the Seattle art scene to the Cascade neighborhood; accomplish that by establishing an art community that consists of various types of artist, and provide live/work spaces that would facilitate integration between this group of artist.
