Brexit: Yorkshire's Voice is Ignored

ELECTION COMMUNICATION YORKSHIRE AND THE HUMBER REGION

BREXIT: YORKSHIRE’S VOICE IS IGNORED WHO WILL SPEAK UP FOR YORKSHIRE? You might support Brexit. You might oppose it. But at this election, a vote for the Conservatives, the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats, Change UK, the Brexit Party or UKIP is a vote for a party that will, when push comes to shove, put London first. On Thursday 23rd May, you will be asked to vote in the EU Parliament elections. The Yorkshire Party is standing and we are asking for your vote. The truth is though, when it comes to Brexit, your vote doesn’t matter. That’s because, whether you are remain or leave, politicians never really pay attention to the voters of the north of England.

OUR KEY POLICIES

What you are really voting for is political parties headquartered in London, which always seem to end up doing what is best for London.

FOR A STRONGER YORKSHIRE IN A FAIRER UNITED KINGDOM

WHAT IS THE YORKSHIRE PARTY?

A vote for any of the other parties in this election is a vote for a system where some children in Yorkshire have 50% less spent on them, per year of primary school, than some children in London. A system where billions of pounds are spent on the new Crossrail train project in London, but in Yorkshire many of our trains are 40 years old and falling apart. A system where our NHS is verging on collapse. A vote for the Yorkshire Party is a vote to change that.

The Yorkshire Party is a centrist political party that was founded five years ago to campaign for one thing a stronger Yorkshire in a fairer UK. We believe children in Yorkshire should go to schools that are as well funded as those in London and the South East. We believe our hospitals require more resources to ensure people in Yorkshire get first-class healthcare. We believe our transport networks need massive investment to ensure our region reaches its potential. But we also believe Yorkshire will never get the investment it deserves when every major decision is made in Westminster. Yorkshire is held back because our Councils can’t even build a new roundabout on a road without asking for London’s permission never mind doing anything with the NHS or our schools. That system is why Yorkshire is falling behind.

BREXIT: WHAT WE BELIEVE Our lead EU candidates, Chris Whitwood and Mike Jordan, believe the Government has messed up over Brexit. Mike voted leave, whilst Chris voted remain.

Chris Whitwood

They both believe Theresa May’s deal is the worst of all worlds - neither remaining nor leaving. Chris and Mike think the Government needs to work out a way to respect that Yorkshire voted to leave, whilst addressing the fair concerns businesses and those who voted remain have about the future. We need to find a way to come back together as a region - to work on issues that really matter like our schools, roads and hospitals. You can read more at www.YorkshireParty.org.uk/brexit
