HOFFMAN - Clarence Hoffman passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on January 6, 2016 after a long courageous struggle with Parkinson’s. Clarence was born on the family farm in the Ebenezer District on March 21, 1931 to Fred and Emma (nee Ruttig) Hoffman. Clarence spent his entire life in the Ebenezer area; Langanau School provided his formal education and the Ebenezer Baptist Church was his church for life. After completing school he spent his time on the farm except for a short period of time working at a Post Office in Vancouver. Upon returning home he purchased a truck and hauled grain and cattle as well as began farming. Clarence later purchased a semi-truck to also haul bales and his steamer. On June 30, 1956 Clarence was united in Matrimony to his best friend, Ivis Neibrandt at the Neibrandt family home with Pastor Richard Grabke officiating. Clarence and Ivis continued farming at the present farm which he purchased from his father. In 1962 Clarence and Ivis built the present home and moved into it from the small farm house in 1963. Clarence and Ivis were blessed with two sons, Blaine in 1959 and Harley in 1967. When Harley took over the family farm for Clarence it made four generations of Hoffman’s on the same land since 1908. Clarence was an excellent mechanic and machinist. If a part wasn’t available he would just make it. His collection of antique tractors was both large and unique. His primary joy was his George White Steam Engine which he refurbished and ran for many years at the Western Development Museum, Motherwell Homestead, Regina Farm Progress Show and in many large and small community parades. In the fall he would host a “Threshing Day” at his farm with many friends, neighbours and family attending as well as many others that would come from far and near to see the old way of farming. Clarence was an honourary member of the Yorkton Thresherman’s Club for over 50 years of service as well as being a member of the Yorkton Antique Car Club. Clarence and Ivis also spent time travelling to Vancouver, Victoria, Oregon, Florida, Texas and California, as well as having many fond memories at Canyon Lake in Arizona. Clarence is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Emma; his brother, Ernie and his sister, Edna. He leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Ivis; his two sons, Blaine (Lorna) and Harley (Danette); his sisters, Verna and Alice and sister-in-law, Doreen; his beloved grandsons, Chad, Chris and Kyle and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and countless friends. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor Kendall Buhler officiating. A special solo musical tribute was given by Amanda Buhler of “One Day at a Time”. The organist, Elaine Patzer led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, “When The Roll is Called Up Yonder”, “Rock of Ages”, “Just As I Am” and “Amazing Grace”. The interment of cremated remains will follow at a later date in the Ebenezer Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy those wishing to make a charitable contribution in memory of the Late Clarence Hoffman may do so with a gift to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Memorial Fund or to the Parkinson’s Society of Saskatchewan, #610 Duchess Street, Saskatoon, Saslatchewan, S7K 0R1. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kopan’s Funeral Service, Highway #9 North, Yorkton, Saskatchewan. 306-783-0099. www.kopans.ca.
LOW - Donald Low, beloved husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, uncle and friend to many, passed away January 3, 2016 at the Yorkton Regional Hospital. Don was born on the Low farm on March 7, 1926, the fifth son of Thomas Jr. and Lillian (nee Baird). His parents raised a family of six boys and two girls on a farm north of Foxwarren, MB. He attended Foxwarren Consolidated School, was active in sports, played the trumpet in the school band and became a Lieutenant in the Army Cadets. In 1942 at the age of sixteen, he was awarded a silver watch as a sharpshooter for the province of Manitoba. At the age of eighteen he joined the RCAF with the intention of becoming a pilot but was selected to train as a wireless gunner. He was later transferred to the Army and stationed in Toronto and Winnipeg. Upon discharged on Dec. 12, 1945 he returned to Foxwarren where he courted Elaine, the love of his life. He worked as a mechanic and cabinet builder, then in 1948 started working for the CPR as an Assistant Agent, later becoming an Operator and Station Agent. The last sixteen years of his career included a move to Yorkton and a promotion to Mobile Supervisor, retiring in 1988 after forty years with the railway. On August 25, 1951 he married Elaine Thorpe (the first couple to be married in the new Foxwarren United Church). They lived briefly in Winnipeg before moving to Bredenbury where they raised a family of two girls and two boys. Don was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying hockey, curling, golf, bowling, hunting, fishing, swimming and horseshoes. Travel was an important part of Don’s life. Some of the highlights were family vacations with the tent trailer across Canada and the USA, trips to Europe, a Panama Cruise and various holidays with friends and family. Two very special destinations were the fifteen winters they spent in St. Augustine, Florida and the fifty plus years of travelling to Clear Lake, MB where many memories were made, most recently this past summer. A truly dedicated family man, he was a great inspiration and coach to his children and grandchildren. He attended as many activities as he could and always made time to encourage them and provide a few pointers. Don was a volunteer, willing to share his energy and talent. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and very proud to have recently received a seventy year member pin. Don had a life-time commitment to the United Church in Bredenbury and Yorkton and until passing was a Board of Trustees Member at Westview United. He joined the Masonic Order in 1978 and participated in concordant bodies of The Royal Arch, was appointed the First Grand Principal of Saskatchewan from 1989-90, a member of The Scottish Rite, Preceptory, Wa Wa Shrine and Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Saskatchewan Telegraphers Club and the Yorkton Horseshoe Club, to mention just a few. Don was predeceased by his parents; son Ross; brothers, Gordon, Victor, Leslie & Bill and by a sister, Phyllis Talbot. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine of sixty-four years: their daughter Barb (Doug) Tomte of Spruce Grove, AB; their children Holly and Chad (Samantha); son David of Saltcoats, his children Meghan (Krishna), Rebecca (Mel) and Jessie and daughter Pat (Eric) Holtkamp of Yorkton and their children Karlie (Mitch), Laura (Aaron) and Haley (Brenden) and great-grandchildren Logan, Audrey and Hudson, as well as a brother Alec (Shirley) of Dauphin, MB; a sister, Evelyn Widdicombe of Chetwynd, BC and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from Westview United Church, Yorkton. Rev. Deborah Smith and Rev. Walter Farquharson officiated. Organist Laurene Jemieff led members of the church choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns ‘Walk With Me’, ‘Make Me A Channel of Your Peace’, ‘Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah’, ‘Give to Us Laughter’ and ‘We Shall Go Out with Hope of Resurrection’. A favourite hymn of Don’s - ‘Stars in My Crown’ was played. The Masonic Funeral Rite was conducted by members of the Yorkton Lodge #12 A.F & A.M and the Veteran Tribute Service was conducted by members of the Royal Canadian Legion, General Alexander Ross Branch #77. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with grandson Chad Tomte serving as the urn bearer. Condolences may be left at baileysfuneralhome.com. Memorials were to the Wa Wa Shrine - Patient Transportation Fund, 2065 Hamilton St., Regina, SK S4P 2E1.

DICKIE - Edwin Dickie, beloved husband of Matilda Dickie of Yorkton, formerly of the Ebenezer and Crewell districts, passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on December 24, 2015 after a brief battle with stomach cancer. He was seventy-eight years of age. Edwin was born August 14, 1937 to Harry & Ivy Dickie (nee Wilson). He grew up with his brother Art. They worked hard and were mostly home schooled. They did find time for some fun. He bought his first land from an uncle at a young age. Dad married the love of his life Matilda Frederiksen on December 7, 1963. Together they raised 4 children and built up a successful farm named Last Horse Hill Ranch. After 10 years of drought in the south it was decided to sell and try something new. We bought a grain farm at Ebenezer. Dad said he got rid of rocks, cattle and barbed wire fences. We arrived at Ebenezer, August 15, 1989. We made many new friends right away and never looked back. Dad never refused to help a friend, neighbour or even strangers in need. His kindness, generosity, humour and quick wit are traits that we as children can only hope are passed onto us. Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Harry & Ivy (nee Wilson) Dickie and his daughter Kimberley Juricic. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Matilda of Yorkton, three children; Jacqueline Dickie, Timothy (Eloise) Dickie, Aaron (Jennifer) Dickie, five grandchildren; Sheldon, Alexandra, Devin, Hunter and Nathan, brother Arthur (Alice), as well as their many “adopted” kids, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from Heritage Baptist Church in Yorkton with Rev. Kendall Buhler of Ebenezer Baptist Church officiating. Tributes and words of remembrance were given by Crystal Buczulak, Merrell Dickie and Jacqueline Dickie. Organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, ‘How Great Thou Art’, ‘Softly and Tenderly’ and ‘When the Roll is Called Up Yonder’. The urn bearers were Edwin’s grandchildren. Interment will follow at a later date in the Creelman Town Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Edwin may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church or to the Health Foundation towards Palliative Care at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre as gifts of remembrance. PFEIFER - John Phillip “Phil” Pfeifer, 1934 - 2016. With fond memories and a sense of loss, sadness and relief, we announce the passing of one of Estevan’s true icons on New Year’s Day of 2016. In spite of a terminal cancer diagnosis more than two years ago, Dad continued to live life his way until late summer. His way meant being what he always was. He had the respect, love and friendship of those who knew him. Being productive, fiercely independent and his get it done attitude never stood in the way of his generous, caring and thoughtful nature. When he wasn’t busy saving the residents of Estevan by exterminating mosquitos and weeds during his day job, he could be found donating his time to charitable canvassing or gathering up and returning shopping carts from the grocery store parking lots or snowblowing many of the neighbourhood driveways or supplying baking to friends and causes or…well, you get the picture. Dad’s capacity to give was only equalled by his desire to never be a burden or to be treated special. We often hear of people fighting courageous battles during difficult times or through episodes of illness. Whether it was his own episode with cancer or during his time as primary caregiver to mom, Dad chose not to battle through but to live through these difficulties. Did I mention this was since retirement? Born in St. Boniface, MB, he moved with the family to Portage la Prairie and Yorkton, SK at an early age. Never a scholar, dad loved hockey and despite his diminutive size, relied early on his attitude to be part of numerous provincial and interprovincial championship Bantam and Midget teams. He married LaVina McDougall in Yorkton on June 23, 1956 with son Ty arriving the following year. Dad worked his entire career for Bowman Brothers later to become Acklands Ltd. As a “clean up” manager who was dispatched to fix distressed branches of the company, the family relocated several times prior to settling in Estevan in 1970. Sometime after retiring into boredom in 1996, dad was told by his former boss, “Phil, we had to hire three guys to replace you”. Dad of course took this as the supreme compliment. After LaVina’s passing in 2002, dad unretired working several different jobs until becoming seasonally permanent at Southeast Tree Care where he admitted to having found the perfect job…working outdoors and driving around on a tractor. Dad continued to work his perfect job literally until the day he was admitted to hospital in August. After a life well lived, Phil will be welcomed into the Peace by wife LaVina, parents Constance and John Pfeifer, brother Allen Pfeifer, sisters Shirley (Bob) McGifford, Joan (Ray) Walsh, Barbara (Ed) Eisenzimmer, Madeleine Lange and in-laws Pauline and Charlie McDougall. Phil is survived by his son Ty (Mary Jane), grandsons Scott, Andy and Jim (Tess Clark) Pfeifer, sister-in-law Georgina Pfeifer, brother-in-law Bruce Lange, numerous nieces and nephews and by his very special friend, Eileen Brown. Eileen’s love, caring and companionship undoubtedly extended the length and quality of dad’s life…she gave him reason to live. Special thanks to Eileen’s children and spouses, Bob and Beth Wock and family, Larry Doan and family and to all those who took the time to visit with dad over the last few weeks. Finally, thanks to Dr. Omosigho and a big shout out for the entire staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Estevan for their care of dad. A celebration of Phil’s life will be held in Estevan in the spring. Notice will be sent out when a date is confirmed. Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.hallfuneralservices.ca. Happy New Year Dad.

BOEHM - Iris Boehm (Slowski) passed away suddenly on January 5, 2016 in the Intensive Care Unit of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Iris, a devoted and loving wife, was predeceased by Fred, her husband of 57 years. She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her children, Barry (Caroline), Sherry, Randy (Sonia), Heather (Carl), Brian (Tammy), Darcy (Ida) and Tracy (John); Grandchildren Justin (Nicole), Melissa (Chris), Kyla (Darrell), Ashley, Amanda, Chantelle, Colin (Carla), Evan (Ashley), Brittany, Shannan (Joey), Stephen, Zachary, Nicole, Liam and Danielle, and her great-grandchildren, Ella, Tahlia, Riley and Kennedy. Iris’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all brought her great joy and pride. She was the youngest of 11 children of Annie and Mike Slowski. She grew up on their farm just outside of Sheho with four sisters and six brothers. Along with going to school in Sheho and helping out on the farm, Iris discovered a love and natural talent for baseball. As a young woman Iris moved to Yorkton, met Fred and they soon married. Over the next 15 years they welcomed seven children into their family, keeping Iris very busy. At the same time Fred’s carpentry skills led to many family homes that were built, moved into and sold over the years. Iris was a loyal and devoted partner that became a pro at packing and mobilizing while caring for and keeping a large family in order. She was a loving mother to her children and all the children’s friends that came into her life. Many affectionately called her Mom, Baba, Mama Boehm and Auntie. This love and acceptance filled her heart. She was incredibly talented and creative. Anything Iris attempted, she mastered with ease. She was an amazing seamstress, made wool quilts, re-upholstered furniture, made leather crafts, knitted and crocheted, made fancy chocolates and did needlepoint. Most recently Iris started to machine knit. Like all of her other interests she approached it with passion and talent. She made items for family and friends and even sold her wares at the local farmer’s market. Above all the other talents Iris held, she was the most amazing cook — and when she cooked, she did it big! Whether it was perogies or cabbage rolls, amazing bread, cinnamon buns or donuts or canning, it was always delicious and made with love. All of these ingredients came from a large garden she planted and tended with care every year. Iris and Fred also enjoyed a period where they went on casino bus trips with friends. It was a fun hobby that allowed them to do a bit of travelling. In 2004, after suffering a major stroke, Iris’s positive outlook and fierce will allowed her to recover beyond doctor’s expectations. She returned home for the next few years where she and Fred maintained a pretty independent life. Even after moving to the Gladstone Seniors Residence, Iris continued to enjoy trips to the casino, sleepovers at Sherry and Heather’s houses, taking drives with family to see what was going on around Yorkton, being involved in cooking and baking work-bees. She always made sure everyone was pinching, sprinkling or rolling things to her high standard! Her personality and smile always lit up the room and all that met her quickly grew to love her. Although she is no longer with us, she will continue to watch over us and inspire us through all she accomplished in her life. Iris’ family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in Emergency and Intensive Care at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre for her final care. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton, SK with Mr. Ray Yost officiating, assisted by Mrs. Margaret Ann Yost. The organist, Carla Laycock, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, “Just a Closer Walk With Thee”, “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. The readers were Iris’ granddaughter-in-law, Carla Boehm and granddaughter, Danielle Albert. Iris was remembered in tribute and eulogy by her daughter, Tracy Albert. Following a reception in the lower level of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Cremation Committal took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan. ZEEBEN - Mrs. Annette Zeeben beloved wife of John Zeeben of Yorkton. It is with great sadness that we, the family of Annette Zeeben, announce her passing on Dec. 22, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Annette was born in Canora, SK on Mar. 14, 1936. First child to Bill and Mary (nee: Dergousoff) Strelioff. Growing up on the family farm near Canora, she was surrounded by loving parents, grandparents and extended family. She went to Strathcona School and excelled in her studies. Her grandparents moved into Canora so Annette and her cousin could live in town and attend high school. After high school, she was greatly encouraged and supported by her parents to attend university. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1956. She became a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist in 1957. She began her career as a laboratory technologist in Calgary where she met her husband, John Zeeben, also from the Canora area. She joined him in Los Angeles, CA and they were married there on Jan. 24, 1959. In California, Annette attained her medical laboratory technologist certification that enabled her to work there. During their 5 years in California they were blessed with 2 children, Mary Beth and Greg. Wanting to come back to Canada, they moved to Calgary where they were blessed with their third child, Gary. Then, wanting to move closer to family and their farm in the Canora area, they moved to Yorkton where she began working full-time at the Yorkton Union Hospital. Annette soon became Technical Director of the Laboratory and held that position for 27 years. She served on many committees in the hospital as well as at the provincial level. She planned and designed the Yorkton hospital laboratory and was also the Regional Laboratory Consultant for the Yorkton area hospitals. Her compassion, attention to detail, organizational skills and common sense approach to any problem or challenge earned her great respect from everyone she worked with. Annette was very community minded and had many interests including politics, the environment, heritage and sports. She took leadership roles in many community organizations including Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) both locally and provincially, Shelwin House and the Yorkton Major Cardinals Baseball Club as a founding member. Of most importance to her, was her family. She was always there to support, give guidance and advice and help whenever and wherever she was needed, even with declining health. She was always very involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and activities, was very proud of them and took great joy in seeing everyone healthy and happy. That everyone was doing well was all that mattered to her. Annette always went above and beyond to do anything she could to make everyone’s lives around her better. A visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. A family gathering was held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 with Crystal Bailey, B.Th Certified Celebrant officiating. Tributes and words of remembrance were given by Mary Beth and Emily Kohlert. Pianist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, “Amazing Grace” and “Nearer My God to Thee”. Interment followed in the Canora Town Cemetery with Greg Zeeben, Gary Zeeben, Parker Zeeben, Bill Strelioff, Ken Kohlert and Jason Strelioff serving as casket bearers. Memorials honouring Annette’s life may made to the Parkinson’s Society of Saskatchewan as gifts of remembrance. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com. PLAN NUMBER 8-3-245 TWO-STOREY, TWOFAMILY HOME The exterior finishes on this two-storey, twofamily home – including vertical board-and-batten siding, wood shingles and stone-based pilasters – will make this a welcome addition to any neighbourhood where duplex zoning is permitted. Both homes are identical, and each has a garage, so on-street parking won’t be a problem. A trellised fence divides the lot. On the main floor of both homes, entry is through a compact foyer and into the great room. A coat closet is tucked into the angle of the stairway to the second floor. The great room’s gas fireplace will make this room a magnet for family activities during the cooler months, while the patio just outside the dining room will provide a delightful oasis for summertime meals. The kitchen, divided from the dining area and
great room by a prep island, features a spacesaving L-shaped counter configuration, as well as a large walk-in pantry. A window over the double sink will let in lots of natural light. A den on the main floor is close to a twopiece lavatory, as well as the laundry room, which has access to the single garage. Upstairs, the master bedroom enjoys a threepiece en-suite, as well as a spacious walk-in closet with a window. The second and third bedrooms share a three-piece bath. Next to the linen closet on the stair landing is a triangular display case for collectibles. The main floor of each home measures 842 square feet, and the second floor 725 square feet, for a total of 1,567 square feet of living space. The building’s footprint measures 36 feet and four inches wide and 69 feet, one inch deep, for a grand total of 3,134 square feet. Plans for design 8-3-

Happy Birthday Jan. 12 With love from Shelley (His catch of a lifetime) YTW-BrentBirthday_1x50.b13_ R0011176177.indd Card of Thanks prod2/kj YTW Jan. 13/16 classififamily ed proof shelley The of tothe late Terry Kozowyst would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who helped ease our sorrow at the passing of Peaky. A special thank you to relatives and friends for their many acts of kindness including those who delivered gifts of food, the donations, cards of sympathy, emails and flowers. A special thank you to Wolkowski Funeral Home for their caring and expert services, Pastor Stepko, Donna and Justin Toffan, Rob and Ann MacLellan and the pall bearers for their assistance with the funeral service. Although it is not possible to thank everyone individually we are deeply grateful to you all. - Patty, Darlene, Linda, Bob, Patsy and families. Smart shoppers find the best buys in the Yorkton This Week Classifieds.
With the holiday season now behind us we feel it is time to express our sincere and heartfelt thank you. It has taken some time for us to process our feelings, given the sudden and tragic circumstance surrounding Donald’s passing. Unpreparedness seems to have sheltered us in some way, along with the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Now, however, it has become very real. The adrenaline has worn off and feelings flood in along with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation. We, as a family, have had time to reflect upon the days and weeks since Don’s passing and what we realize most is how lucky we are to have each other. By each other, we of course mean our family, but along with them we are truly in awe of our friends and neighbours far and near. Our wonderful community of Roblin filled with more heart than a city a million strong. From the days surrounding the accident and onwards, you have been there for us; praying, caring and supporting. You were never unnoticed. Be it a visit, a phone call or text, a card or a care package you always seemed to be there with a kind gesture when we needed it most. The out-pouring of love and support was truly amazing we appreciate it and all of you so much! It would take a lot of ink and be a very long read to mention you all by name and inevitably we would forget some. So, we have decided that this note, along with a donation to the Roblin Lions Club and the Health Science Centre SICU in Donald’s memory, will be our thank you to everyone: a thank-you that bridges his journey and is a wonderful way for Donald to be remembered. Now, we look ahead to the New Year and wish you all the very best in 2016. -Our Sincere thanks, Barb Weber, Wayne & Gwen Weber, Grant & Bobbi Jo Weber, Ryan & Arla Mann and families.

Newborn benefits
B11
eHealth Saskatchewan (eHealth) has partnered with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to make it easier for parents to apply for federal and provincial benefits for their newborn children. Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Saskatchewan Health Minister Dustin Duncan, today announced the Bundled Birth Service which will give Saskatchewan parents the option to apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and Canada child benefits for their newborn at the same time that they register their child’s birth. “It’s an important time for parents, when a baby is born, said Duclos. “Through our collaboration with the Province of Saskatchewan, we are simplifying processes to allow parents to spend more quality time with their newborn. “The Government of Canada is committed to providing faster service that supports and assists Canadians, said Minister of National Revenue Diane Lebouthillier. “That includes helping them obtain the benefits to which they are entitled. The Canada Revenue
Agency is actively partnering with federal and provincial departments to make it simple and easy for families across Canada to access Canada child benefits at a time when life can be particularly demanding. “Welcoming a newborn into the world can be an exciting and very busy time for parents, Duncan said. “Our government is committed to supporting new parents and this new birth bundling package will make it quicker and easier for them to access government services related to the birth of their child. “We understand that new parents have their hands and arms full when they welcome a new addition into their family and don’t have a lot of extra time to be filling out paperwork, eHealth Saskatchewan CEO Susan Antosh said. “Giving parents access to four optional government services through one comprehensive form will mean more free time to spend with their loved ones. After the birth of a baby, parents will receive an improved and more user-friendly Registration of Live Birth form, which makes it easier for parents to register the birth of their child and also apply for related government services, including:
Social Insurance Number through ESDC; Canada Child Benefits (CCB) through CRA; Saskatchewan Health Card, through eHealth; and Saskatchewan Birth Certificate through eHealth. Quick Facts: The Registration of Live Birth form is available in health care facilities throughout Saskatchewan. With their child’s SIN, parents can access various Government of Canada programs and benefits including the Canada Learning Bond and the Canada Education Savings Grant. Applying early for CCB ensures that parents receive the credit and benefit payments to which they are entitled, on time and in the right amount. In addition to registering births, eHealth is responsible for providing health services cards and registering deaths, marriages and changes of name that occur in the province. The Bundled Birth Service is available for parents living in any of the provinces.
