KOZLOSKI - Patricia Elaine (Olesko) Kozloski passed away on January 30, 2017 as the result of a tragic vehicle accident. Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 45 years Leslie Kozloski, her daughters: Marie Stensrud (Otto) Rhett, Keith, Eric and Kyle, Trina Kozloski, Brooke and Madison; Anita Gillis (Ron) Ava, Madelin, Laura and Ben; Laura Hagel (Donavon Dionne) Bailey, Robyn and Kendyl; daughter-inlaw Cassandra, Zakery, Alyxa and Ryden and Carol Gibb (Don) Charlee, Brothers: Raymond (Jackie) and Lawrence (Joyce) and Sister-in-law Wanda (Jim), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her son Kelly, her parents Walter and Martha, her in-laws Frank and Dorothy. Mom was born May 20, 1952 to Walter and Martha Olesko. She was the youngest of three, with two older brothers. Mom went to school in Prince Albert, SK and enjoyed athletics and life growing up on the family farm. She was a hard working girl with a mischievous sense of humour (two traits she maintained her entire life). She left Prince Albert after high school and went into Nursing in Saskatoon. It was there where Mom met Dad. They were married in 1971 and started their famous six pack. Although they moved several times, it was always Les and Pat’s dream to settle on a farm and raise their family. This path saw Mom wear many hats, from a nurse, a sales clerk, a farrowing barn technician, a stay at home mom and full time partner in their farming operation. In the end, their hard work paid off as the family settled on the farm at Preeceville. Wherever Mom went, she left her mark. The first to help and the first to find humor. Her commitment to family, friends and community was tireless. She was devoted to her faith and work on service committees. Being a talented crafter she was skilled at crocheting, knitting, cross stitching and sewing. Mom produced many labours of love that were cherished gifts to both family and friends. It is impossible to find someone who knew her that cannot recount acts of her kindness. As wonderful as all of this was, it wasn’t until her family expanded that she truly became her full self. She warmly welcomed new family members in the form of sons and a daughter-in-law. The arrival of grandchildren meant that she was now and forever Baba. Seventeen grandchildren were lucky enough to call her Baba. She played with them, baked with them, worked with them and laughed with them. She loved them unconditionally. She has left us all with numerous memories of love and laughter and will be missed by all who loved her. Please join us in celebrating Mom’s life on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2 pm at the Legion Hall in Preeceville. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Shriners Hospital or The Salvation Army. SLOBODZIAN Mrs. Emily Slobodzian, 92, of the Ituna Pioneer Lodge, passed away on Thursday April 20, 2017 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Emily was born on the family farm in the Hubbard District to William and Mary Boyarski. She was the second eldest of seven siblings. Emily grew up during the depression helping on the farm and looking after her younger brothers and sisters. Emily attended Dramague School and later got a job as a waitress in a restaurant in Balcarres. She later returned and on February 8, 1951, in Hubbard, she married her sweetheart Paul Slobodzian. They moved a mile north and started their new life on the family farm. Between breaking the land and getting established, time well passed. On August 25, 1961 they welcomed the arrival of their only child Grant Slobodzian. Emily was active in the community working with the Hubbard ladies auxiliary, helping with local events such as sports days and curling events. Emily enjoyed the weekends, going fishing and picnicking in the Qu’Appelle Valley. She enjoyed her life on the farm and working with cattle, her garden and flower beds. She had a giving and worrying nature, always putting others ahead of herself, always worrying if the family ate. In retirement, Emily had 3 favourite things, her granddaughter Tania, bingo and Chinese food. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her granddaughter and taking her camping or traveling with the motorhome. Any excuse to come visit or have her visit was a priority. She loved bingo in Hubbard and Ituna and after would travel to Fort Qu’Appelle, Punnichy, Melville and Yorkton. After returning home from an evening of playing bingo and not winning she would say, “That darn bingo, I’m not going anymore!”, but the next day if there was a bingo, she would be getting ready to go again. Emily and Paul were involved with the Hubbard Golden Age Social Club and enjoyed the many events or road trips with the club. Emily and Paul remained on the farm until the fall of 2012 when they moved to Sunshine Manor in Ituna. Paul moved to the Ituna Pioneer Lodge in June 2013. Emily joined him in September 2015 and resided there until her passing. Emily was predeceased by her parents William and Mary, younger sister Julia Boa of Regina, eldest brother Andrew of Edmonton, younger brother Adolph of Toronto and husband Paul in March 2016. She leaves to mourn her son Grant Slobodzian (Sharna Sernowski) of Yorkton, granddaughter Tania KozieSlobodzian of Kelowna, BC, sister Stella Hall of Calgary, brother Stanley Boyarski (Ann Borweitz) of Regina, brother Walter Boyarski (Amber Hansen) of Ituna and many Nieces and Nephews. The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 25 at 1:00 pm at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Ituna, SK with Rev. Fr. Albert Schmitz officiating. The organist, Paulette van der Helm, led the choir. The interment followed at the Ituna Roman Catholic Cemetery with Kyle, Kevin and Sheldon Boyarski serving as pall bearers. In honour of Emily, donations may be made to the United Way as gifts of remembrance.

HYSHKA - Mrs. Pauline Hyshka of Yorkton, formerly of Wroxton and the Calder area, entered eternal rest on April 23, 2017. She was 98 years of age. Pauline was born on November 28, 1918 in the RM of Calder, a daughter of Pete (Procopik) Ursulak and Cathleen (Kalena) (nee Savliuk). She attended Liberal school and then gained experience working on various local farms before marrying Harry Hyshka in 1942. They resided on the Hyshka homestead. Pauline enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening, often giving her garden bounty away. She hosted many of her nephews and nieces during the summer months. While not a world traveler she did enjoy attending as many family weddings as possible. Pauline is survived by her two sisters Margaret and Vera and her brother Nicholas. Pauline was predeceased by her true love Harry in 1999 and daughter Margaret Elizabeth in 1944, her sisters Sophie, Mary and brothers Bill, Peter, Metro & John. Prayers were held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky officiating. The responses were led by Yvonne Panchuk and members of the parish choir. The interment followed in the Garden of Crucifixion at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Sean Ursulak, Cory Ursulak, Bryan Aubie, Mike Aubie, David Couttie, Emil Strutynski and Raymond Galye serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Pauline’s life may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society as gifts of remembrance. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com. PLAN NUMBER 1-3593 A GRAND GREAT ROOM A 16-foot-high ceiling in the foyer makes a grand entry to this contemporary threebedroom plan. Nine-foot ceilings throughout the rest of the home create a lofty sense of openness. On one side of the foyer, are two smaller bedrooms, separated by a three-piece bath. On the other, is the staircase leading to the basement below. The master bedroom suite is privately situated beyond the stairs, in an exclusive wing with views to the back yard garden. An arched entry leads to the hub of the home, a huge combined kitchen and great room surrounded by floor-toceiling windows. A gas fireplace is centered on the exterior wall of the great room. The adjoining kitchen with its massive work island makes informal entertaining a breeze. The island has a small sink, placed next to the refrigerator so guests

can easily help themselves to beverages. A gas range is the only interruption in an impressive length of countertop that is perfect for preparing food. The rectangular dining area can easily accommodate a full- sized table and chairs. A sliding glass door in this space leads to a covered outdoor deck. A hall leading from the kitchen to the laundry room has room for a broom closet and a walkin pantry. The laundry includes a coat closet and has access to the double garage. Further along the hall is the door to the master suite. Here, an en-suite with dual sinks will delight the busy career couple. Just beyond the en-suite, a large walkin closet has plenty of room for his and hers clothing. The exterior is accented by river rock trim and a combination of vertical and horizontal wood siding. This house is 48 feet wide by 59 feet, 6 inches deep and has 1,885 square feet of finished

living space. Plans include an unfinished basement. Plans for design 1-3593 are available for $855 (set of 5), $920 (set of 8) and $972 for a super set of 10.
