SULLY - Bruce Charles Sully was born on May 29, 1964 in Yorkton, SK, the only son of Marion Sully and the late, Dave Sully. He grew up and attended school in Yorkton and later moved to Abbotsford, BC where he was employed at a truss company. Bruce loved camping and fishing and had a passion for carving stone and collecting unique rocks. Bruce had recently returned to Yorkton when his diabetes took a turn for the worse and he found it difficult to enjoy the things he loved. He is survived by his two sons, Bryce and Chase of BC; his mother, Marion of Yorkton, SK; his three sisters, Nora of Regina, SK, Cora of Yorkton, SK and Colleen and Jerry Warner of Edmonton, AB; nephew, Rodney; nieces, Mallary, Paige, Sara and Katie as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. In accordance with Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will take place at a later date. Donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. “May you find comfort in the hands of angels.” Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan. STEVENSON - David Gordon, born May 3, 1947 in Yorkton, SK, beloved husband of Valerie Anne Stevenson (nee Byman), passed away peacefully with his family by his side February 11, 2016 at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his loving wife Val, daughter Carolynne (Jesse), Calgary, AB, sons David (Stephanie), Williams Lake, BC, Jared (Samantha), Castlegar, BC and by his wonderful, cherished and loved grandchildren, Maddison Stevenson, Yorkton, SK; Reginald and Sidney Stevenson, Castlegar, BC. David was predeceased by his mother, Freda Patience Stevenson (nee Noble), his father Samuel Watson Stevenson and his brother Graham Lawrence Stevenson. David “Red” was born and spent his early years in Yorkton SK, where he developed his passion for playing and later coaching ball, as well as playing cards. He moved on as a teenager to Fife Lake, SK and on the death of his father when David was just 16, he took on the responsibility of helping his mother to manage the Fife Lake Hotel. From there he moved on to Winnipeg, MB where while employed with the T. Eaton Company, he met and married the woman who he always told “I love you with all my heart”, right to the very end. Many wonderful years were spent in Winnipeg and at the cottage in Lake Forest Estates, Gimli, MB. It was during these years that an accident left him with multiple surgeries and resulted in his requiring orthopedic boots and canes to walk. Then the family moved back to Yorkton, SK, enjoying small town life, where he particularly enjoyed his Crib game at the Legion and being that booming voice cheering on his sons hockey team. But, when his cardiac problems arose, he moved on to Calgary, AB where the health care he needed was more readily available. David lived life to the fullest, he had no regrets. His presence filled a room and his laughter and smile was un-mistakable. He faced many challenging health issues over the years and always remained positive and accepting of the outcomes. His years of pain and suffering are now over. He was a mountain of a man with a kind, gentle and generous heart. He will be remembered and dearly missed by those whose lives he has touched. Always those canes and boots and his passion for playing cards, especially crib. He was so very proud of all his children’s accomplishments and so very proud to have had the opportunity to have lived to see and enjoy his beautiful grandchildren. He always said what a lucky man he was to have his family. As per David’s wishes immediate cremation has taken place with a private family gathering. As his grandson Reg said, “Grandpa has grown his Angel Wings”. A small graveside gathering will occur Saturday, April 23, 11:00 am, in Yorkton SK, Yorkton Cemetery, Legion Plot, where some of David’s ashes will be laid to rest with his father, as per David’s wishes. All those who wish to attend are welcome. Dave, dad, grandpa, we will see you on the other side and until then “may God hold you in the palm of his hand”. Forever loved, forever missed. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca. BELLOWS - Peter Bellows. April 1, 1915 - April 5, 2016. Shortly after celebrating his one hundred and first birthday Peter went peacefully to be with his Lord, in the early hours of April 5, 2016 at the Yorkton Regional Nursing Home. Peter was born near Hyas, SK the son of Ewdokim and Yellena Bellows the seventh in a family of twelve. He attended school in Hyas and began farming thereafter. He married Mary Kachman in 1937 and they settled into their own farm where they remained until 2010. During those years they raised four children and enjoyed many activities with their nine grandchildren. They moved from the farm when Mary needed significant care because of her declining health. Peter and Mary lived and farmed in the Hyas vicinity for seventy years. He enjoyed the challenge that farming provided especially when it came to repairing equipment that broke down. He demonstrated his faith year by year as he entrusted the fruits of his labours to the Lord. He was thankful for whatever the harvest provided whether it be bountiful or sparse. Peter enjoyed the freedom and challenges that farming offered. Over his years on the farm he saw many changes in farming practices. His initial years of cultivation were carried out with a team of horses. Working together with his brothers they were able to transition to the mechanized age of steel wheel tractors. This greatly reduced the manpower requirements for sowing and harvesting the grain crop. The next change came with the purchase of a rubber tired Massey Harris 44 diesel tractor in 1949. He was in the modern age of farming. Farming provided him with the opportunity of putting his mechanical skills to the test. He enjoyed the challenge of repairing a broken down piece of equipment, rigging up a device to do a specific job or overhauling a motor on the tractor or car. No problem was too difficult to attempt to resolve. He enjoyed the simple things of farm life, like the look of black summer fallow, the smell of new cut hay and the golden glow of a combined field of grain. They all gave him a sense of satisfaction. He was deeply committed to his faith and Hyas Baptist Church and served in many positions of leadership over the years. His home was noted for its hospitality. Many itinerant evangelists used it as their base when preaching in the area. He led Church group Bible studies at their home as well as teaching a Sunday School class at the Church. Peter was predeceased by his wife of seventy-three years, Mary; daughter, Beverly; granddaughter, Kim and son-in-law, Ches Patzer. He is survived by three children, David (Sharon), Sharon (Len) Church and Barbara Patzer; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He will remain with us in our memories and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Peter’s life was held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, SK with Pastor Kendall Buhler officiating. The opening hymn was “Blessed Assurance”. The scriptures were read by son, David Bellows as well as Peter’s grandchildren. Words of tribute and eulogy were shared by Peter’s family. Special music included a solo by Amanda Buhler of “Where I Belong” and the closing hymn, “Because He Lives” sung by the Bellows family. Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.

Roy met the love of his life, Mavis Kakakaway and they were united in marriage. Together they raised two of Mavis’ granddaughters, Kaola and Keanna. He loved the girls and they loved him. To them, he was their “Papa”. Roy enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bingo, croquet and reading western books, just to name a few. However, his greatest enjoyment was teasing just about everyone he met. There was never a dull moment when Roy was around! Roy was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Isabelle Pelletier; his son, Virgil and infant daughter, Elvira; brothers, Gilbert, James, Victor and Henry; sisters, Evelyn, Mary and Kathleen; nephews, Richard Pelletier, Jr. and Larry Dean Pelletier; nieces, Nicole Anderson, Sabrina Wasacase and Sandra Peepeetch; brothers-in-law, Lester Shingoose, Marcel Roussin, Sr. and Francis Pelletier; sisters-in-law, Gloria Pelletier and Mabel Peepeetch. PLAN OF THE WEEK
PLAN NUMBER 7-3945 FAMILY HOME WITH WOODWORK The archway over the front entrance, a deep front porch, the curved extension of the highest gable and the decorative woodwork that frames the mullioned windows, all lend this three-bedroom family home an air of Victorian charm. A covered porch leads through the front door into a large foyer. A den is on the right, adjacent to a two-piece powder room. A coat closet is situated near the entrance to the great room. Mobile/Manufactured Homes for Sale
Apartments/Condos for Rent
Fitted into a bayedout space near the back of the house, the great room boasts a dramatic vaulted ceiling, as well as a fireplace. Flowing seamlessly from this room is the dining room, occupying its own bayedout area, which has access to a covered deck, the perfect spot for yearround barbecuing. The kitchen is separated from the other family rooms only by a raised eating bar and island, ensuring the cook will never feel isolated. The L-shaped counter configuration promises more than adequate
work space, and a pantry provides extra storage. A window over the kitchen sink overlooks the back garden. From the kitchen, a doorway leads to a spacious laundry room, with a coat closet located near the entrance to the double garage, where there is enough room for a sizeable workshop. Part of the garage has an extrahigh ceiling, ideal for an RV or other over-height vehicle. Up the U-shaped stairway, a railed vestibule area allows a glimpse of the great room below. The master suite, over-
looking the back garden, features a large walk-in closet. The en-suite, in a bayed-out area, offers a touch of luxury in the form of a shower stall and a soaker tub, plus double basins. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom, also with double basins. The third bedroom features a window with an extra-deep sill. Exterior finishes include wooden shingles, painted trim, decorative wooden detailing and stone accents. This home measures 45 feet, four inches wide and 57 feet deep, for a total of 2,230 square feet of living space. Plans for design 7-3945 are available for $835 (set of 5), $900(set of 8) and $952 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $35.00 for Priority courier charges within B.C. or $65.00 outside of B.C. Please add 5% G.S.T. or 13% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and postage charges. Our NEW 48TH Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 400 plans is available for $15.50 (includes taxes, postage and handling).
