NEW S OF T H E WORL D L EA DER IN ESS ENTIAL OI L S

A MESSAGE FROM MARY Hello, Everyone, It seems that we have all been in the fast lane for the past couple of months. Moving in to our new Global Headquarters was organized and smooth for the most part. Everyone is still in awe of the building. The ribbon cutting was emotional for so many of us, but the sun was shining and the day was beautiful. No words can describe the uniqueness and beauty of our new headquarters. You just have to come and see it for yourself. This year’s Global Leadership Cruise through the Alaska Inside Passage was truly awesome. Imagine a cruise ship with 5,000 excited members of the Young Living family. Members came from all over the world, and it was rewarding to witness the camaraderie, be a part of the storytelling, and experience the joy of sharing. With our annual International Grand Convention on the horizon, I feel a frenzy of anticipation of what’s coming. This will truly be a historic event from every angle of participation: sitting and watching, being behind the stage helping it happen, or being on the stage making it happen. There will be new products, fabulous announcements, and lots of surprises—don’t miss it. If you ever struggle knowing which oil to reach for, here are some words that help me remember what I need when: Marjoram for Muscles, Cypress for Circulation massage, Lemongrass for Ligaments, Lemon for Lifting emotions, Frankincense for Feelings of greater introspection and wellbeing, Helichrysum for Helping whatever, and Peppermint for Pushing for better absorption. These are just a few examples. With love and gratitude,

YOUNG LIVING OPENS DOORS TO NEW GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS GHQ’s future is bright—bright green, that is! On Wednesday, May 29, the Young Living executive team snipped their way through a bright purple ribbon, officially opening the doors to Young Living’s new Global Headquarters (GHQ) in Lehi, Utah. Young Living Co-Founder and CEO Mary Young spoke of the company’s history and Founder D. Gary Young’s vision to bring the power of Young Living’s pure essential oils to every home in the world: “This is a historic day for us. As we commemorate 25 years as the leader of the essential oil industry, I’m delighted to officially welcome the world to our new Global Headquarters—a building that represents our rich legacy. It’s truly an exciting time to be a part of Young Living.” Creating an eco-friendly building was essential to the design of the new GHQ. The awe-inspiring GHQ reflects YL’s dedication to its stewardship of the earth and 5×5 Pledge—a commitment that shines inside and outside the building. “We’re thrilled to finally move into our stunning new Global Headquarters,” said Jared Turner, Young Living president and chief operating officer. “We worked closely with the country’s best architects and space planners to ensure that the new building supports our efforts toward achieving zero waste in five years and serves as a welcoming space for our worldwide members and talented employees.” There are many ways we’ve gone green at the GHQ. These are just some of the highlights: • LEED and Green Globe certifications in process • Low VOC-emitting, recyclable materials used in furniture and finishes • State-of-the-art water filtration system, which eliminates the need for bottled water

opportunities for students in recovery In October 2018 the Shine School in Cambodia, operated by our partner Hope for Justice, began breaking down the walls that would soon ready the school for an exciting expansion. In January Hope for Justice applied the finishing touches on the school— and the impact achieved since is inspirational. The Shine School is one of Hope for Justice’s aftercare programs that provides catch-up education and

The exterior features two-tone stones and two-tone glass—a bold statement representative of the natural world. Outside you’ll also find solar panels on the roof and covered parking structure, plus water-efficient xeriscaping. The most endearing element is the nod to our founder’s humble roots: a replica of D. Gary Young’s childhood cabin. Walk through the doors of the new GHQ and you’re immersed in openness, light, and beauty. In front of you is a three-story waterfall, and on your left is a twostory screen spotlighting Royal Crown Diamonds. The main floor also hosts a product store, an always-on-view research lab, and the einkorn demonstration kitchen and Vitality Cafe. What else is on the main floor? Ample opportunities to learn more about Young Living! Our GHQ has a miniature theater where visitors can select Young Living videos to watch and an auditorium that seats 164 with a stage—a superb setting for training and education. “We wanted a building that radiates the spirit of Young Living and how much we value our commitment to preserving and utilizing nature,” said Ron Harris, senior director of Real Estate and Facilities. “We also wanted it to be comfortable and efficient for our amazing employees. Thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved in the project, we managed to do it all.” The building also has a five-story open stairway, 99 conference rooms and gathering spaces, and 1,000 workstations. These design elements foster productivity, creativity, and collaboration, allowing employees to better support our members. Top it off with two large, organic growing walls and an interior landscaped garden, and you have one extraordinary building worthy of the world leader in essential oils.

vocational training to girls who have been rescued from human trafficking. After finishing an extensive eight-week recovery program at a Lighthouse Center, they can continue on to the Shine School in Phnom Penh. Since the expansion, the school has welcomed a record number of students, tripling capacity and adding new programs to the curriculum, including art and music therapy, to accommodate all learning styles and phases of the restoration process. The Shine School fosters an environment of collaboration and camaraderie among peers. The new library has become a place that supports learning and exploration, featuring hundreds of books written in both Khmer and English and spaces where the PAG E 1

DOS AND DON’TS TO SHARE YOUR PASSION FOR YOUNG LIVING

Continued from page 1

A helpful guide for compliant communication

Every Young Living member has their origin story. A friend gave you a bottle of Peppermint oil during the holiday season. You tried Lavender in a hot bath after a particularly difficult day. You realized you could get all the same cleaning power out of Thieves® Household Cleaner without resorting to any of the harsh chemicals you used to use. You were able to finally get out of town on a dream vacation with your family thanks to income from your Young Living business. Whatever your origin story is, it’s something you know changed your life for good. These stories are the foundation of how Young Living grows: honest, personal, and inspiring experiences that show the people in our lives the transformative power of what Young Living offers. We want you to share how Young Living has changed your life. To ensure that you’re sharing your passion compliantly, we’ve collected a few dos and

don’ts to help you share the word without running into problems. Dos: 1. DO ensure that all claims are accurate, truthful, and appropriate according to the product labeling instructions. 2. DO tell your whole story. Be factual, honest, and inclusive of all supporting factors such as lifestyle changes, medical care, changes in diet, etc. 3. DO include the Income Disclosure Statement found at YoungLiving.com/ IDS if you discuss the Young Living business opportunity. Don’ts: 1. DON’T prescribe Young Living products for health conditions. 2. DON’T offer Young Living products as an alternative to seeking or delaying medical care. 3. DON’T make hypothetical, unrealistic, or false income claims. If you need any additional assistance, please like the YL Conduct Success Facebook page at Facebook.com/ylconductsuccess or check out the claims section of a product information page on Young Living’s website. A final don’t: Don’t hesitate to share Young Living with the people in your life. Now that you know how to stay compliant, help someone else find their origin story!

girls can read to each other. In this nurturing space, happiness and healing can flourish. The restored balcony has become a place where students can put to good use yoga mats donated by Young Living members on past service trips. Students soak up the sun and unwind while practicing yoga, often led by past graduates of the Shine School who return to support the system that empowered them to achieve their dreams. The Hope for Justice staff in Cambodia guides these incredible programs while recognizing that personal relationships developed among teachers and between teachers and students create an atmosphere in which students feel safe, loved, and valued. The first six months at the Shine School’s new expansion are a testament to the incredible work being achieved by Hope for Justice as the organization works tirelessly to end human trafficking through a multifaceted approach. ESSENTIALLY YOURS

Here are your responses to “What are the five oils every essential oil newbie needs in their collection?”

CELEBRATING THE SECOND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ESSENTIAL OILS DAY Spread the wellness in this worldwide celebration!

July 11 is the second annual International Essential Oils Day, and we’re excited to celebrate together! Last year’s event was a huge success, and we’re looking forward to topping it this year, especially since we’re still buzzing with energy from our 25th-anniversary celebration in April. Young Living Co-Founder and CEO Mary Young said, “Although Gary is not with us physically, his legacy lives on. Pay tribute to his life as we spread the wellness through essential oils to all.” Young Living Founder D. Gary Young knew his purpose in life was to share the benefits of essential oils with the world. Because of Gary’s passion and vision, we can diffuse Lavender for peaceful moments after a hectic day, make a conscious effort to clean our homes with natural Thieves® household products, and much more! Let’s continue his vision and ensure that everyone benefits from these oils. “We’re not about the numbers or profit; we’re about human connection and creating a positive impact,” said Jared Turner, president and COO of Young Living. We’ve learned through Gary’s life that simple acts can create significant impact. Here are some ways you can make an impact on International Essential Oils Day: • On this special day, 5 percent of global sales—up to $250,000—will be donated to the YL Academy. • Share essential oils with friends and family so that they can experience the benefits. • Take the opportunity to do an act of service, following in our founder’s footsteps.

“The five essential oils I would recommend, outside of the Starter Kit, include Gentle Baby™, Peace & Calming II™, White Angelica™, Bergamot, and Grapefruit. You get a mix of floral fragrances and citrus bliss with these fab five.” —Amanda J.

International Essential Oils Day is also Gary’s birthday. We’ve got plenty of ways for you to celebrate this special day: • Try a new oil. • Change your Facebook cover image to one celebrating International Essential Oils Day. We’ll share one on our Facebook page. • Share your favorite essential oil with a friend. • Tell your social media followers that it is International Essential Oils Day and that 5 percent of global sales will go to the YL Academy. • Plant a tree to give back to nature. • Use the hashtags #IEOD and #InternationalEssentialOilsDay to spread the word about this special day. Click on the hashtag on your favorite channel to see how others are celebrating. Visit the International Essential Oils Day website for more details: YoungLiving.com/ieod.

“Everyone needs Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Thieves®, and Frankincense in their collection because they can tackle many life challenges. The first three are my go-tos for bedtime, bathtime, cooling relief, and aromatherapy. Thieves® is the powerhouse cleaner. And Frankincense pairs well with skin care products for a healthy glow. Enjoy!” —Elaine C. “Outside of all the oils in the Starter Kit, I think that every essential oil beginner should have White Angelica™, Joy™, Cedarwood, Orange, and Gentle Baby™. These oils have so many different benefits and versatile uses. However, my favorites change all the time because all the oils offer unique luxuries!” —Chloe C. “As a rookie myself, my top five oils outside of the Premium Starter Kit are Oregano Vitality™ because it brings an extra flavor to our homemade pizzas; Pine because nature inside without the dirt is a mom’s dream, KidScents® SniffleEase™ for my kids; Grapefruit blends with everything and smells like a spring morning; and Shutran® as your man’s personal fragrance.” —Kimberlee G. “Beyond the oils in the Premium Starter Kit, five must-have oils for any essential oil newcomer are Clarity™, Copaiba, Helichrysum, Purification®, and Vetiver.” —Barb K.

Get to know Peppermint Maybe it’s the peppy aroma or the fact that this oil is our post-workout lifesaver— no matter the reason, we’re Peppermint essential oil’s biggest cheerleaders! This worldwide favorite is obtained when 1 pound of peppermint leaves and flowering tops is steam distilled to produce crisp, cool Peppermint essential oil. You may love Peppermint’s minty-fresh aroma, but the brisk sensation doesn’t end with its sweet scent. Menthol, a primary constituent in Peppermint, activates the same receptors on nerve endings that sense cold. Now that’s coolness you can count on! What else makes Peppermint popular? Chill factor, for one. Dilute 1 drop of Peppermint with 4 drops of V-6™ and rub it on your temples, forehead, and the back of your neck. You can also massage this essential oil into fatigued muscles after workouts. Either way, you’ll get a cooling sensation that makes tension melt away! Peppermint is also a champion on cleaning day. Make a carpet powder with 1 cup of baking soda and 20-30 drops of essential oil; kick stinky shoe smells to the curb with an odor-fighting spray by mixing 2

ounces of water and 6 drops of Peppermint in a spray bottle; or diffuse Peppermint, Eucalyptus Blue, and Lime for an all-over room refresher. This energizing scent is also at its best during sweet moments of self-care. Add 3 drops of Peppermint to your shampoo and give yourself an exhilarating scalp massage; put a couple of drops directly in bathwater for an invigorating soak; or place a few drops of Peppermint on a washcloth and put it on the shower floor just out of the direct stream of water for a refreshing start to your day. What are you waiting for? Grab your bottle of Peppermint and let the king of cool transform your day! You can enjoy Peppermint’s cool factor for free this month. Qualify for July’s PV promo with 190 PV, and we’ll send you a 15 ml bottle. For more details, visit bit.ly/2HLLxnr. Ready for more pep in your step? HERBED GOAT CHEESE AND YOGURT DIP INGREDIENTS

We’re one step closer to fulfilling our 5×5 Pledge goal of five new farms each year for the next five years! The Philippines-based Kalipay Coconut Farm is our newest partner farm, and it is more than a coconut farm. The Kalipay Coconut Farm team is making a difference by empowering the community and helping to protect the environment. From V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex to a handful of ready-to-apply essential oil blends, superior coconut oil is a must. But the Kalipay Coconut Farm is producing more than high-quality coconut oil—it’s producing change. The farm donates each year to the Lao Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps empower less fortunate people in the Philippines through education, livelihood training, and values formation. In addition to its donations to the Lao Foundation, the farm also sponsors the children of local coconut farmers to receive training in electromechanical technology, helping to break the cycle of poverty and empower a new generation of people in its community. To date they have sponsored a total of 84 students. The farm also uses green chemistry, a new discipline that optimizes the use of resources and minimizes waste during production. Every step of the process counts, and the Kalipay Coconut Farm is implementing these new practices to reduce impact as much as possible. Every Young Living product that uses coconut oil sourced from the Kalipay Coconut Farm helps send children to school and protects the environment. Head over to SeedtoSeal.com to learn more!
