Continued from page 1 FOUNDER'S MESSAGE These oils complement the original oil in accomplishing the blend’s purpose. I may bring in other oils to round out the blend so that it has a well-balanced aroma and feel. The art and science of creating blends is fulfilling, particularly because I know these blends can bring so much joy to so many people. I take great pride in this process and in the innovation that often takes place while creating blends. It’s amazing how these powerful oils can bless our journey to wellness and abundance. The Young Living processes are critical to me as they are your guarantee that every bottle of Valor or Peace & Calming—or any other blend or single with the Young Living seal—contains the power members expect. The testing we do is world-class, and we have invested in technology that helps us achieve the accuracy in our standards for purity and efficacy. Each oil is tested during and after each distillation to ensure

oil with its complete compound profile. In the laboratory in Utah, all oils must pass rigorous testing for all types of results before going into production. Oils not produced on a Young Living farm must pass several tests for any synthetics, additives, and lower quality plant materials that have not produced oil that meets the Young Living standard. Any such oils are rejected and returned to the original sender. After the oils are blended, they are tested again to ensure that each oil was added in the correct ratio and at the correct time. We test the singles and the blends after bottling and labeling as a second measure to make sure the final products meet our expectations. I am always thrilled to go to the main lab, visit with our scientists, and see the efficiency with which they work and their diligence in making sure we have the best. Every time you open a new bottle of Lavender, Peppermint, Valor, Highest Potential™, Light the Fire™, or any of our singles or blends, close your eyes and let the aroma envelop your senses, and enjoy the pure essence that Mother Nature offers us.

SEED TO SEAL SPOTLIGHT Farming Practices and Sourcing Oils At Young Living, we dedicate every necessary resource to providing the purest oils possible. We proudly source 100 percent of our essential oils from corporate farms, partner farms, and Seed to Seal®-certified suppliers. Each of these locations embraces our Partnership Principles program to help ensure the purity of our oils. Here are the five principles that help us maintain the highest quality standards.

Established Relationships Our Founder and Chairman of the Board D. Gary Young and our Sourcing team have hand-selected renowned suppliers of premium botanicals and built relationships with them for decades. We continue to foster these relationships.

Seed to Seal Specifications

1 large garlic clove, finely grated

All farms—whether a partner farm, Seed to Seal-certified supplier, or even our very own corporate farms—sign declarations that they will seed, cultivate, and distill to our strict Seed to Seal specifications.

1 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for boiling water

Binding Agreements

4–5 sprigs fresh lemon thyme, leaves removed 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped

2 drops Lemon Vitality™

We back up these signed Seed to Seal declarations with legally binding contracts that require our partners to deliver on those declarations with every crop and every distillation.

1 drop Thyme Vitality

Stringent Testing

Freshly grated parmesan for serving (optional)

We have a state-of-the-art lab with cutting-edge testing instruments, as well as a team of researchers with a combined 180 years of experience led by Chief Science Officer Dr. Mike Buch. If this team finds that a supplier’s oil doesn’t meet our standards, it never reaches our warehouse. Each test is recorded in our library of historical testing data, the largest of its kind in the world.

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place whole, unpeeled potatoes in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, until the potatoes are tender but not falling apart. Drain and let the potatoes cool to the touch, then cut them into wedges. The potatoes can be prepared up to one day ahead and refrigerated whole until ready to grill. 2. Place the olive oil, half the parsley, lemon zest, thyme, chives, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add potato wedges to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Reserve marinade. 3. Heat the grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and brush it with the remaining olive oil. Place the potato wedges directly on the grill and cook them until golden-brown marks appear, about 2–3 minutes, then flip them to the other side and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until golden. 4. Add Lemon Vitality and Thyme Vitality and the remaining parsley to the leftover marinade—adding extra olive oil if necessary—and transfer the warm, grilled potatoes back to the bowl. Toss quickly and gently to coat, then transfer the potatoes to a serving platter and sprinkle them with grated parmesan if using. Serve warm.

Ongoing Audits At Young Living, a respectful partnership with the earth is nonnegotiable. Our farm audits address quality and legal compliance to help ensure responsible agriculture. We are continuously working to remain on the cutting edge of sustainable soil, weed, and pest management and of responsible forestry. For Gary and Young Living, the big picture doesn’t have much to do with the bottom line. We’re driven to make the world a better place by sharing the benefits of essential oils. Because we’re bringing families authentic quality, we’re bringing them authentic benefits. Find out more at SeedtoSeal.com.
