“When I was in elementary school I was interested in art and a nice lady in my hometown by the name of Rebecca Falet took me under her wing. She exposed me to every medium she could. However, she taught me so much more than how to make art. She taught me how to be creative and that art is much more than your final piece. Rebecca was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that would unfortunately take her life. We can create our own happiness no matter our situation. Creating art can be a moment to breathe and enjoy life when it's hard. She embraced me when I felt too different in the world around me and left me with the tools to continue to embrace the person I am. This is why I am going into art therapy. I want to be a Rebecca.”
