Part-Time Faculty, Criminal Justice and Consumer Sciences
“Having known Professor Frank since Fall 2018, she hasn’t been there for just me, but all of her students. She has encouraged and motivated us to be the best version of ourselves; allowing us to grow and change into better individuals that can help society, not hinder it. She has planned and overseen the body positivity fashion show, EveryBODY Fashion Show, for several years now ‐ helping even those outside of YSU be comfortable in their own skin.

CRiteRiA

SeleCtion
The Mentor of the Year is selected by the Student Awards Committee based upon the written application provided by the nominating student.
She’s open‐minded, kind‐hearted, strong‐willed, and she inspires all of her students to be the same positive force this world needs. She has impacted more lives than she knows, including my own. As a fashion major myself, she has helped me better my own education. She has motivated me to open myself to opportunities on campus and beyond. She’s knowledgeable in her teachings, and a fundamental reason in a lot of students’ education and well‐being here at YSU ‐ both current and those who have graduated; her reach is vast and motivating. She has been a mentor since she began teaching, and I’m lucky enough to be one of her students.
The world needs more Jennifer Franks, sadly there is only one. However ‐ fortunately enough, I know the one and only, and I’m grateful everyday that I do.”
