Studying abroad is, in the words of one student at YSU, “a life-changing experience.” Visit places you’ve only read about; meet people whose outlook on the world is quite different from your own; learn to see with new eyes. In a world gone global, you owe it to yourself.

Study abroad can take many different forms. Some programs offer a cultural immersion experience, consisting primarily of intensive language and culture training. Other programs offer a semester or a year of coursework at a foreign university taught in the language of that country, which is ideal for students who have achieved proficiency in another language. In addition to programs in the English-speaking world, YSU maintains partnerships with universities in Taiwan and Turkey that offer a wide range of courses taught in English, allowing students to take a combination of language training and other academic courses in their majors.
