“I could not have had a better Real estate person than Michael Jackson. He lead me perfectly through all the aspects of buying my condo. He is smart and personable. Always answered all my many questions and helped me understand the process every step of the way. I would highly recommend him.” – Patricia Slack
If you’ve been taking a closer look at your house recently and are thinking it might be time for you to make a move, determining your current equity position is a great place to start. Understanding how much equity you’ve earned over time can be a key factor in helping you realize the potential profits in your real estate investment and move toward your next homeownership goal.
“Excellent very professional. Always answers all questions and for some reason does not know he will quickly find out. Gets back with you in short time. Michael helps with different things on how to get your place ready for a great showing. I give him great recommendations to everyone.” – Barbara LaDuke
With average home sale profits growing, it’s a great time to leverage your equity and make a move, especially while the inventory of houses for sale and mortgage rates are historically low. As of August 5th, Bella Terra only has 22 active listings and Country Creek has only 10 active listings. That means each community is only carrying just over 1% of properties actively for sale out of the total inventory (that’s extremely low). If you are considering selling your house, let’s connect today so you can better understand your home equity position and take one step closer to the home of your dreams.

OLD FLORIDA/ MODERN DESIGN B Y C HA N N I N G SPA N O
6 | YOU R HOM E M AGA Z IN E®
WHEN
the owners of this Naples home approached Toscana Homes, they wanted to build something that paid homage to Old Florida style while remaining contemporary. Naples has seen an explosion of coastal contemporary homes in the last few years and now people are wanting to build homes with their own unique spin on this well-loved look. This elegant home plays off the ideas of Florida Cracker architecture while incorporating modern elements to keep it relevant. “We kept the lines clean and simple which is a nod to the designs you would have historically seen here. Also, houses of this style were characterized by metal roofs which we felt was an important design element to add,” says Richard Compagnone, one of two Principals at Toscana Homes. “From there we wanted to modernize how we used metal around the exterior, so we added a stainless steel front door.” The driveway pavers have been laid upside down to hide the pillowtop bevel which makes for a cleaner, more contemporary look. Backlit glass garage doors add a beautiful design element day or night and the landscaping brings in traditional Florida elements and pops of vibrant colors.
YOUR HOME MAG AZ INE® | 7
Just inside the home, the foyer sets the tone for the modern design found throughout. Architectural stairs with stainless steel and glass railings create a floating effect and the open design of the treads means light can flow through the space. The chandelier and art niche showcase the owner’s love of contemporary art and design.
8 | YOU R HOM E M AGA Z IN EÂŽ
“The wine storage is one of my favorite elements in the home,” says Compagnone. “Originally this was just a large opening but we came up with this unique design that houses the wine in glass cases to provide some separation between the two living spaces.”
YOU R HOME MAG AZ INE® | 9
In the kitchen and family room, modern design reigns. Top-of-the-line appliances are surrounded by flat paneled cabinets in muted tones. The island features a custom glass table connected to the larger prep space. The breakfast nook is topped with a modern sunburst light fixture. In the family room a wide sectional with a low back keeps sightlines between the two rooms connected. Throw pillows add a pop of color. Large sliding doors leading to the pool create an indoor-outdoor living experience. “The recessed lighting in the ceiling mimics beams—a modern take on a coastal element,” Compagnone explains. Millwork throughout the home has been kept sleek and simple to add the Old Florida feel.
10 | YOU R HOME M AGA Z IN E®
The office is a working from home dream space. Warm wood tones and natural leather come together to create a modern space with plenty of storage and fantastic views. The built-in houses floating shelves and a credenza with flat panels and minimal knobs for a sleek display area. Above the room, the ceiling features four floating, backlit squares with recessed lighting, continuing the theme of unique ceiling details and thoughtful design.
YOU R HOME MAG AZ INEÂŽ | 11
The master bedroom is also topped with an interesting ceiling. The vaulted look is a nod to Old Florida while the design keeps it modern. Stopping before it hits the wall, it appears suspended over the room for a show stopping effect. The room’s tranquil base color of soft grey is enhanced by accents of blue which mimic the colors of the water outside. A comfortable seating area next to the oversized windows allows for beautiful morning views. The addition of chrome gives the room a little sparkle and abstract art above the bed ties the motif together.
12 | YOU R HOM E M AGA Z IN EÂŽ
The outdoor kitchen and seating area are featured under a wood-clad ceiling. The modern furniture complements this old world accent. Plum colored furniture with chrome frames would be at home inside or out, and are a stylish addition to the room. The large gas grill is backed by tiles found in the kitchen to give the two spaces continuity. Artificial turf has been inlaid between stone pavers to create a traditional garden feel with an updated pattern. Pocketing screens protect the lanai from the elements and provide shade from direct sunlight.
YOUR HOME MAG AZ INEÂŽ | 13
“Old Florida homes were originally built around a layout that allowed the breeze to pass through, cooling the interior. We now have air conditioning to do that, so the addition of so many windows is our take on that principle,” says Compagnone. From the rear elevation, it’s easy to see how the home’s interior is kept so light and bright, and the pool can be seen from almost every room. The raised pool allows for an infinity edge which creates a beautiful water feature when sitting in the lower fire pit area. While the bright blue tones are classic, their mosaic design lends itself to a more contemporary feel.

CULTURE
FIRST THING IN THE MORNING OR AFTER A TASTY DESSERT,
coffee isn’t just a warm beverage, it’s become a cultural phenomenon. Americans consume 400 million cups of coffee each year with well over 50% of us drinking at least a cup a day. While it’s one of our favorite drinks, coffee’s true origins are really still unknown. According to one legend, the ancestors of today’s Oromo people in the region of Kaffa in Ethiopia were the first to recognize the energizing effect of the coffee plant. One origin story is that of Kaldi, the 9th-century Ethiopian goatherd who is believed to have discovered coffee when he noticed how excited his goats became after eating the beans from a coffee plant. Others attribute the discovery of coffee to a Sheikh Omar. According to an old chronicle, Omar was once exiled to a desert cave. Starving, he chewed on berries from a nearby shrub but they were too bitter so he roasted them to improve the flavor. He then tried boiling them which resulted in a fragrant brown liquid. After drinking the liquid Omar was revitalized and sustained for days. The earliest credible evidence of coffee-drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree appears in the middle of the 15th century in the accounts of Ahmed al-Ghaffar in Yemen. By 1600, coffee had spread to Italy, and then to the rest of Europe, Indonesia, and the Americas. However humans discovered it, we love our coffee, spending an average of around $2,000 per year on the hot or iced drink. Most of that goes to coffee shops where specialty coffees can quickly add up! Thankfully, there are some pretty great ways to make a delicious cup right at home. From espresso to pour over, or a traditional cup of joe, there are wonderful gadgets that will make your home coffee experience special while saving you some money in the long run. We’ve compiled some great products that work for a wide range of budgets and kitchens.

FLORIDA-FRIENDLY LANDSCAPING B Y DAV I D J D R IA P S A , FA S L A L A N D S C A P E A R C H I T E C T
Joni Mitchell in Big Yellow Taxi sang, “They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.” While we see that happen all too often in our modern world, Landscape Architect, David Driapsa, a pioneer of environmental landscaping, was able to flip that concept around when he created Naida’s Native Plant Garden in place of an old parking lot. Located at the Collier County Horticultural Learning Center in North Naples, Driapsa and his team designed a 9,000 square-foot garden devoted to more than 55 different species of native Florida plants. In addition to showcasing beautiful native plants, it serves as an example of
20 | YOU R HOME M AGA Z IN E®
what is possible for Southwest Florida residents as the garden is the size of a typical backyard. Drawing on his experience master planning the award-winning Oakmont neighborhood at Pelican Bay, Nadia’s Native Plant Garden is a great visual resource for new developments or individual homeowners as they design their yards and greenspaces with water-wise plant material to recreate an Old Florida feel and preserve natural resources. The garden’s name honors Naida Eisenbud, a former Collier County master gardener educator, local naturalist, and environmental advocate.
Driapsa also created Naida’s Native Plant Garden to demonstrate the principles of environmental landscaping, now referred to as Florida-Friendly Landscaping. Environmental landscaping is taking Florida by storm and is being enjoyed by urban homeowners. Contrary to what many people believe, native plants can be used as the entire plant palette in the landscape. In many instances, native plants are used as just an accent or as hedge material, but a landscape designed entirely of Florida’s native plants is beautiful and attracts Florida birdlife. It was said that people go to the public parks on the weekend
because their yards are so boring. Not so with environmental landscaping as Driapsa expertly showcases through this wonderful garden. The water garden resembles local limestone rock outcroppings. Pathways of crushed seashell wind through a constructed native habitat that demonstrate what a homeowner can create using natural Florida resources. In fact, Naida’s Native Plant Garden is a showcase of environmental landscaping that won the first-place landscape design award from the Florida Native Plant Society. The garden boasts an impressive array of 55 native species. Small and medium-sized trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, and ground covers are featured in a naturalistic setting that resembles the best of a Florida Hardwood hammock. Some of the beautiful, but underutilized, native plants include loblolly bay, sweet bay, sweet acacia, marlberry, fiddlewood, cinnamon bark, Simpson’s stopper, and Walter’s Viburnum. Also found in the garden, vining passionflower, patches of scarlet salvia, yellow-top, bushy clumps of pink muhly grass, and butterfly weed offer a wealth of textures, colors, and shapes as do the glossy-leaved wild coffee, silver-green palmettos, and leathery fronds of coontie. Blazing Star shoots tiny purple flowers upward. The constant red glow and spark-like flowers on native firebush, and the white flowers on Walter’s viburnum are dazzling, as are the prolific blooms of Florida Dune Sunflower. Above all, there is space with an artful array of enticements: walking paths, a shaded pergola, benches, a pond and rock outcroppings that follows Driapsa’s philosophy: “Landscaping is not just about plants, but creating a place for outdoor life.” What Driapsa wanted in Naida’s Native Plant Garden was a living laboratory at the learning center that could teach people who live in urban Collier County how to enjoy and appreciate nature in their own yards. Historically, Old Florida gardens mainly used locally procured native plants. Early settlers learned to grow hardy native plants that had little need for irrigation systems, fertilizer, or pesticides to keep cultivated plants alive. They became experts at creating gardens of beauty from the resources they had around them. Floridians today are relearning that skill to make
YOUR HOME MAG AZ INE® | 21
A plan that represents the typical South Florida backyard, Naida's Native Plant Garden helps developers and homeowners visualize what’s possible around their own home or development.
their gardens not only beautiful but functional and environmentally friendly. Creating gardens using native plants is a way to cultivate a culture of environmental stewardship in our communities. The natural environment is an important part of the identity of all of Southwest Florida, and conservation of native landscapes has a direct influence on our quality of life. People come here to enjoy nature, pristine beaches, good fishing, hunting, and winter golf. To maintain our state as a great place to live and visit, we must nurture both culture and nature. Environmental landscaping helps us develop a natural setting to surround our cultural amenities.
22 | YOU R HOME M AGA Z IN EÂŽ
Nadia’s Native Plant Garden also demonstrates seven principles of environmental landscaping, with the first principle being focused on making a beautiful landscape through sound planning and design. The second principle is to limit the size of turf lawn to appropriate, functional areas, perhaps even omitting turf altogether. This will conserve precious and expensive water and creates a yard with a beautiful tapestry of ground covering, color, and texture. Intermixing ground cover with shrubs adds interest. Route a path through these areas. The third principle is to use water-efficient plants. Avoid treating all plants the same. Put
the right plant in the right place by clustering together plants based on their water demands, which is the fourth principle of environmental landscaping. You will notice this principle in nature, with swamp plants that thrive in water, upland plants that require only a little water, and seaside plants that tolerate salt and wind. Efficient irrigation is the fifth principle and the key to successful landscaping in Florida. Not all plants need the same amount of supplemental water. Some plants need no supplemental water after they are established in the landscape. An efficient irrigation system will be designed with separate zones to apply the right amount of water to where and when it is needed. As a landscape
matures, it will be possible to reduce or fully remove applications of supplemental water. Seasonal annuals should be planted in a separate irrigation zone to apply water daily. Areas of turf lawn receive a separate zone since they need one inch of supplemental water three times a week. Professional tip: a sign that the lawn needs supplemental water is when your footprints are left in the turf. Mulching is the sixth principle. Mulch is the icing on a cake as a unifying element of texture and color that weaves the landscape together. Organic mulches such as pine needles and shredded tree bark will decay over time. It returns to the soil as an enriching amendment. The seventh principle is maintenance. Landscape beauty has a price. A garden around your house, whether of native or exotic plants, requires ongoing maintenance. Whether that maintenance is provided by the homeowner or someone hired to do the work, there always
will be pruning needs, fertilizing needs, and weeding needs. These needs can be reduced through environmental landscaping. Appropriate landscape maintenance, however, is necessary to train new landscapes to maturity and to preserve their beauty over the years.

he walls of your home are as much of a statement as the furniture itself. Most people see them as a backdrop for the rest of their design, but wall treatments can enliven a space and tell their own story. From big box stores to specialty retailers, there is a wide range of choices when it comes to selecting the right finish for your walls. However, this is an investment in your home, so choosing high quality products that won’t fade, especially in Florida’s intense sunlight, will keep that fresh, justfinished look for years. One company that provides time-tested paint and wallpaper is Farrow & Ball. With their high-quality ingredients, artisanal methods, eco-friendly formulas, and sustainable practices, they offer a beautiful range of products that will help you put the finishing touches on a space or serve as the starting point for your whole home. So what makes Farrow & Ball unique? Started in 1946, by pioneers John Farrow and Richard Ball, the company prides itself on a historic foundation of high-quality ingredients and artisanal practices. When it comes to their paint selection, immersive colors are blended with a balance of rich pigments and the perfect amount of lightreflecting titanium dioxides so as the day goes on, the varying undertones in every hue can become more or less

The richness and character of the colors they offer create vibrancy and life in every room of the home. From passing clouds to the changing sun, the glow of bulbs, and the f licker of a fire, Farrow & Ball paint colors gently shift in light and shade, bringing added complexity to your decorative scheme. In addition to being beautiful, their paints are also eco-friendly. In 2010, they were the first in the industry to move to an entirely waterbased formula. Their paints are not only classified as Minimal or Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), but far exceed the standard

for those categories. VOCs are the culprits behind the strong smell of some traditional paints, a result of pollutants being released into the atmosphere as the paint dries. By contrast, the low odor finishes means a lack of nasty fumes, giving you a product that’s safe, comfortable to apply and live with, and ultimately kinder to the environment. Their paints are also child-friendly so you can apply them to the walls of nurseries, playrooms, and bedrooms without worry. Their 100% water-based Modern and Estate ranges are certified child- and babysafe in accordance with Toy Safety Standards. Their gentle formulations are also safe to use on toys, so you can give their favorite playthings a colorful new look.

(OPPOSITE) A pretty floral print, Peony is equally at home in traditional or contemporary schemes. Its blooms combine modern glamour with classic romanticism to bring fresh color to any room. (LEFT) Less rigid and defined than a classic floral pattern, each colorful spray within the Hegemone wallpaper is wonderfully optimistic and looks almost as if it has been cut from paper. Taking its name from the Greek goddess of fruit and flowers, the design blooms freely in all directions to bring your walls to life.
They also offer a wonderful array of wallpapers that provide the same level of color and depth. While most wallpapers are printed with ink, every roll of Farrow & Ball wallpaper is printed with their own eco-friendly paint, creating a rich depth of color and a uniquely tactile effect. Their wallpaper also always starts with rolls of high-quality paper sourced from sustainable forests and continues with small-batch manufacturing and eco-friendly ingredients. The end result is a beautiful, durable, and 100% recyclable product. During the manufacturing process, the ground color is brushed onto the paper, creating subtle depth and texture. Then, their expert craftsmen lay down the final decorative flourish—whether it’s a simple stripe, intricate damask, or modern geometric, each wallpaper pattern is printed using time-honored methods, before they are finished with a fine layer of glaze. This wipeable coating ensures your wallpaper stays beautifully vibrant, as well as free from marks and stains. Farrow & Ball wallpaper paste is also formulated to minimize the waste from your project. Sold in powdered form, their paste offers a longer shelflife and the ability to only mix what you need, while the concentrated formula means you can hang up to five rolls with a single recyclable tube.

Everything about the home is spectacular.” In addition to quality, this home boasts a phenomenal design which appeals to buyers seeking an unparalleled lifestyle defined by relaxation and recreation. “The design is just so functional. Also, everything is ensuite and separate from each other which is a great layout for privacy,” explains Pascarella. With privacy in mind, the master wing of the home offers luxurious amenities. “The master wing is very spacious! It’s a great area, complete with a morning bar and miniature refrigerator and because it’s separate from the rest of the house, it’s really a paradise,” Pascarella comments. When ready to venture out from their private oasis, residents of The Concession are just minutes from all the fine dining, shopping, and Sarasota culture, arts, and beaches that Lakewood Ranch offers. “Located in the outskirts of Lakewood Ranch, The Concession is very private, boasts large lots, mature trees, and offers daily connection with nature. Everything is very custom and unique. The homes are never cookie cutter,” Pascarella adds. Just as careful thought is put into each custom home in The Concession; an equal amount of brilliant work was incorporated into the design of the golf course which residents can access. Pascarella explains, “The golf course is absolutely stunning because
none of the homes are built on it. So when you’re out on the course you’re just enveloped by trees, nature, and complete beauty,” Complementary to the surrounding beauty of the golf course and nature preserve, this home emanates the ultra luxury of a high class lifestyle. Nestled among mature landscaping, the exterior with its oversized windows
and stone detail seamlessly blend with the premium design inside. “The quality of the workmanship, the decor, and the design just flows throughout the entire home. There’s nothing that is subpar. Every piece of art, every piece of decor, every cabinet, every countertop, is just top-of-the-line quality,” says Pascarella.
Set amongst mature landscaping in The Concession, this home stands proudly as an emblem of quality amongst custom-built homes. Its presence is elevated by a grand brick driveway and symmetrical design. “The way the home is set back on the lot gives it curb appeal. It’s framed with the landscaping and the trees, even the patch of grass in the driveway just adds a little extra detail and pop of color to it. The front entry is framed by mindful architectural elements such as columns and french doors on either side of the entrance. Stone trim on all the windows and doors denotes the quality architectural requirements in the neighborhood,” Pascarella notes.

The foyer welcomes all visitors to the home with the grandeur of a two story ceiling. Travertine tiles lead guests to the open surrounding spaces such as the nearby dining and living rooms. What appears to be stone work along the walls is instead convincing faux painting. Skillful millwork, found throughout the home, is highlighted here in the baseboards and molding detail. Oversized front doors, made of iron and leaded glass, with Italian hardware, boast windows which can all be opened to let in a fresh breeze.
First noticed when entering the home, the living room provides a formal sitting area for guests and all who love to entertain. A grey Heathman sofa from Taylor King complements the room’s silver decorative pieces such as the Adagio Cocktail table from Highland House. A Mystic swivel accent chair in Century Furniture fabric graces a single corner of a stunning dark taupe and ivory area rug from Loloi Rugs’ Journey collection. Accent tables from John Richards frame each side of the natural gas fireplace decorated with a canvas of soft blues from Robb & Stucky.

Entertaining is effortless in this deluxe kitchen, fully equipped with Viking appliances. Functional features such as an island sink and cooktop pot filler make cooking a breeze, while two dishwashers offer easy cleanup. Luxurious details like granite countertops and a stone hood over the cooktop stand out against the Mohawk wood flooring in Hickory with a flat finish. “I love the impressive cabinetry that nearly touches the ceiling and the soft-touch drawers are a great feature as well,” Pascarella notes.
36 | YOU R HOME M AGA Z IN E®
The exquisite dining room caters to formal dinner parties while offering a space for conversation and feasting. The custom dining table provides plenty of space for several chairs from Hickory White. Delicately hanging from above, a Versailles Nine Light from John Richards illuminates the space and draws the eye toward the remarkable millwork on the ceiling. Perfectly complementing the translucent light above, several candle pillars in acrylic and mercury glass decorate the one of a kind table.

“This family room is a lovely casual space adjacent to the kitchen. Having a casual family room makes for a great entertaining space other than the formal living room. People like to entertain while they cook, so it offers a space to do so.” remarks Pascarella. With a plush Sommet Sofa and Taschen chairs, both from Taylor King, the family room offers plenty of comfortable seating amidst a sea of warm inviting tones. Various shades of taupe, brown, and blue spotted in the India Contemporary area rug bring all the individual elements together. Further accenting the many lines in the space, a Fluted Column Table from Global Views rests between the two accent chairs. The Hi-low console facing the sofa was custom made and designed to hide a television. This allowed the homeowners to hang original artwork on the wall instead.
The first-floor master wing is a private oasis with pool views which opens to the outdoor lanai. Complete with separate his and hers master baths, closet built-ins, and a morning bar, this space boasts everything needed for a tranquil escape. Plush and inviting bedding is accented by an oversized headboard which is the focal point of the room. The soft textures and colors of the bedding perfectly contrast the masculine details like dark wood nightstands and dresser, all from Lexington. The carpeting and high ceilings also give the space an ultra-luxurious aesthetic. Tucked near the windows are two Audrey chairs from Jessica Charles and a Corgi ottoman from Taylor King.

It’s on the lanai where the home’s abundance of windows and French doors truly shine. “Every room in the house has windows or French doors which allows for a lot of natural light and the ability to always enjoy the view of the nearby preserve and the pool. It feels like a resort,” Pascarella notes. Kingsley Bate lounges, and vibrant blue vases and fish bowls punctuate the space with pops of color while the paver deck in a custom-designed pattern leads to the pool complete with a large jacuzzi and water feature. “At the top entry of the pool there’s also a sun shelf where lounge chairs could be placed in the shallow water on a warm summer day,” she adds.
40 | YOU R HOME M AGA Z IN E®
This outdoor entertaining area is directly beyond three sets of french doors off the family room. With a fireplace and outdoor kitchen, including a grill and refrigerator, this space provides everything needed for an outdoor gathering. “People love covered entertaining areas outdoors. It offers protection from the elements while keeping you in the fresh air,” emphasizes Pascarella. A gorgeous ceiling with dark wood detail and large privacy curtains add to the resort aesthetic. Whitecraft sofas by Woodward flank each side of the unique concrete table designed by a local artist in Sarasota. This home is offered at $1,839,000. HOW TO STAY PRODUCTIVE WHILE WORKING FROM HOME It’s no secret that work has changed significantly this year. Many people have spent the last four to five months working from home and some might now be returning to offices that look a lot different than. Many offices have a capacity limit, meaning that employees are still working from home part of the week. By now you might feel like you have this whole work from home thing down pat, or you may find you still need a little help adjusting to this new lifestyle. Here are seven simple tips that can enhance your remote work experience.
42 | YOU R HOME M AGAZIN EÂŽ
SET REGULAR WORK HOURS
Many companies still have hours in which employees must be logged in, but if your company doesn’t, it’s important to pick a time to start and end each day for your own productivity and mental clarity.
HAVE A MORNING ROUTINE
Get up, get dressed, and start your day like you were going into the office. It can be tempting to work in your pajamas, but a morning routine that makes you feel like a working professional sets the tone for a productive workday.
CREATE BOUNDARIES
While having the family around is wonderful, they can easily distract you during the work day. Make sure they know that even though you’re home, you are still at work and ask that they respect that time.
TAKE A BREAK
Now you work, eat, sleep, live, play, and relax in the same space. Suddenly home isn’t such a sanctuary! Spend time outside in nature, go grab some coffee, take the dog for a walk. It’s important that you get out of the house to clear and reset your mind.
DEDICATE A WORKSPACE
Working from your couch quickly loses its charm. Even if your space is small, finding the room for some kind of desk will help you remain productive and give you mental separation between work and the rest of your life.
COMMUNICATE WITH COLLEAGUES
Communication is key when working remotely. It may feel like you are over-communicating at times, but you and your colleagues will appreciate it when tasks are clearly defined and conversations have been well documented.
TIME BLOCK
For an extra boost of productivity, create blocks of time during your day for different tasks. Maybe save emails till late morning so you can make important follow up calls a priority or give certain projects their own hour window so you can efficiently focus on one thing at a time.

coffee break Anytime is a good time for coffee. Whether you are seeking a morning meal, or an afternoon treat, here is some culinary inspiration for the coffee enthusiast.
dalgona coffee 2 tbsp instant coffee
1 cup milk of choice
2 tbsp sugar
cocoa powder or chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)
2 tbsp hot (freshly boiled) water ½ cup ice
46 | YOU R HOM E M AGA Z IN E®
In a medium bowl, combine the coffee and sugar. Add the hot water and immediately whisk on medium-high speed (if you’re using a handheld electric mixer) until light, airy, and doubled in volume, about 2 to 4 minutes. Pour the milk over ice in a tall
glass. Use a rubber spatula or cookie dough scoop to gently scoop the dalgona coffee cream over the milk. Garnish with a dusting of cocoa powder or chocolate shavings. Serve immediately and enjoy! This recipe easily multiplies based on the needed servings.
cranberry almond biscotti 2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/4 tsp salt 1 cup granulated sugar 4 tbsp butter
1 small lemon, zested 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 large eggs 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup dried cranberries
Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Stir well so the baking powder is evenly distributed. In a second bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla extract, almond extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon zest. Whisk it all together until it is evenly incorporated and is light and creamy. Pour the wet mixture into the dry flour mixture. Stir until evenly combined and you have a wet dough that is similar to cookie batter. Fold in the sliced almonds and dried cranberries. On a parchment-lined baking sheet, form two semi-flat logs about 2 inches wide and 12 inches long. Make sure they are a few inches apart because they will expand slightly while baking. Bake for 35 minutes. Once baked for the 35 minutes, using a spatula, remove the logs to a cutting board. Cut the logs into 1 inch thick slices on a diagonal. A serrated knife works best for slicing. Place the slices back on the baking sheet. Bake the slices for another 5-7 minutes on each side (depending on how crispy you prefer). Larger, thicker logs will require a more time to crisp up. Allow the biscotti to cool before serving. Enjoy the plain or with your favorite coffee!

blueberry scones 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for work surface 1/2 cup granulated sugar
mini ham and cheese quiche
1/2 tsp salt
11/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsalted butter, frozen
1 heaping cup fresh or frozen blueberries (do not thaw)
1 cup chopped onion
1-2 tbsp coarse sugar (optional)
1 tbsp oil
2 /2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup heavy cream (plus 2 tbsp for brushing)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 large egg
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt together in a large bowl. Grate the frozen butter using a box grater. Add it to the flour mixture and combine with a pastry cutter, two forks, or your fingers until the mixture comes together in peasized crumbs. Place in the refrigerator or freezer as you mix the wet ingredients together. Whisk 1/2 cup heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract together in a small bowl. Drizzle over the flour mixture, add the blueberries, then mix together until everything is moistened. Pour onto the counter and, with floured hands, work dough into a ball as best you can. Dough will be sticky. If too sticky, add a little more flour. If it
seems too dry, add a little more heavy cream. Press into an 8-inch disc and cut into 8 wedges. Brush scones with remaining heavy cream and for extra crunch, sprinkle with coarse sugar. Place scones on a plate and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat. After refrigerating, arrange scones 2-3 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet(s). Bake for 22-25 minutes or until golden brown around the edges and lightly browned on top. Leftover scones keep well at room temperature for 2 days or in the refrigerator for 5 days.
5 oz. arugula or greens of choice 2/3 cup finely chopped ham or pancetta
6 large eggs 1/2 cup heavy cream 3 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese 1/8 teaspoon pepper
In a large skillet, saute onions in oil until tender. Add greens and ham; cook and stir until the excess moisture is evaporated. Cool slightly. Beat the eggs in a medium bowl; then add cheese and heavy cream and mix well. Stir in greens mixture and pepper. Scoop into a greased muffin tin with a small measuring cup or scoop. Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Yields one dozen mini quiches.
