n THE COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO WHAT’S ON IN YORK
It’s that time of year again... Yes, it's December, and means only one thing: time to shop for a calendar! Will it be kittens? Will it be country scenes? Will it be a funny one with crude jokes about mother-in-laws and asking ladies what is the best way 'to Oldham'? Whatever you get, have a fantastic 2018! So, although we can't actually help with the calendar purchase, we can aid you with the second best thing about December: CHRISTMAS! In fact, we're the only publication that can help you find the very best events, happenings, concerts, gigs,
and shows taking place in this fair and gorgeous city. By the way, good choice coming to York in December. We do Christmas like no other place on earth. You see, Santa Claus himself spends his down time here in January and February, and the locals chat to him about how to make the festive holiday as perfect as possible. “Alright Chris?” we all call, as we see him lounging outside a pub down by the river. “Aye, not bad!” he replies, grinning under that huge beard. Nice guy, TBH.
And so we have festive fun for all ages, from meeting Santa in a grotto (or two – he gets around), to gaffawing in the aisles of a theatre while watching a panto. If you're not from around here, and not sure what a panto is, you're in a for a treat, our friends. A bizarre, confusing treat. Other than that, keep this copy of What's On close by during your stay, and may we wish you a...
