The name Akatoki comes from an ancient Japanese word for sunrise. It represents the feeling you get when you wake up relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for the endless possibilities of the day ahead. That feeling of hope and clarity is exactly what the hotel was aiming for when considering the overall guest experience and is even reflected in certain suite names.
Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Marble Arch, Oxford Street and Hyde Park, you couldn't ask for a more central location in the middle of the action. That said, The Prince Akatoki is a welcome retreat after a hard day's shopping and exploring the capital.
TOKii, the hotel's main restaurant is serves a vibrant main menu focused on sushi, sashimi, seafood and dishes from the Robata grill. Designed to bring the best of Eastern and Western flavours together, with Japan at the forefront, the exciting menu uses fresh and international ingredients to create an array of beautifully presented sharing plates.
Among the many dishes, which are divided into sections of hot, cold, signature dishes and sushi; highlights include Yuzu Miso Salmon Bites; Pork belly teriyaki TOKii style skewers; Beef fillet tataki with red onion salsa, ponzu and garlic crisps; and Yellowtail carpaccio with jalapeño, yuzu dressing and coriander cress. The Japanese Hot Stone Grade A5 Wagyu beef with spicy ponzu is not to be missed; as is the Miso glazed black cod with sweet corn fried rice.

With a dark and sophisticated colour palette, TOKii embraces a minimalistic decor with a liquid metal wall mural inspired by the ocean, dark timber joinery, blackened cladding and timber screening, dividing the space making this the perfect venue for business lunches and intimate dinners alike. From plush banquettes and traditional seating to the theatrical display at the sushi counter, the restaurant is the perfect accompaniment to the rest of the Japanese inspired hotel. After dinner, guests can retire for a cocktail or two at the stylish and intimate The Malt Lounge & Bar.
