Royal Greenwich Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta, 5-9 September Acting as the largest Tall Ship event to take place in London for 25 years, the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta is a must for any boating fanatic, taking place along various piers in the borough, including Greenwich Pier. The event will be the first major Tall Ships event in the city since London hosted the Tall Ships Race in 1989, and will bring up to 50 ships from Falmouth to Royal Greenwich for four spectacular days. Stunning vessels will be berthed along the iconic River Thames and visitors will be able to take part in exciting ‘on-land’ activities including bustling maritime markets, street theatre, music, dance, art and exhibitions. Greenwich Music Time, Old Royal Naval College 20-23 August Brand new to Greenwich set within the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Greenwich Music Time presents four nights of fabulous live music featuring critically acclaimed electropop group Goldfrapp, fresh from their recent performance at Glastonbury, and multi-million-selling English tenor Russell Watson backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Jools Holland will bring the varied event, in association with Music Magpie, to a close.
