VALE DO LOBO

ALGARVE

Founded in 1962, Vale do Lobo was Portugal's first ever premium resort. Today, it's the largest of its type in the country, covering a total area of over 500 hectares and hosting around 750,000 visitors annually.

A destination in its own right, the land boasts 1500 villas/ townhouses/ and apartments spread across 2km of sandy beach and a spectacular neighbouring nature reserve - all just a 20 minute drive from the international airport of Faro. With the Algarve enjoying more than 300 days of sunshine a year, with summer temperatures between 29 and 19°C and only dipping to between 21 and 9°C in winter, Vale do Lobo is a year-round destination. This idyllic world offers all the amenities you would expect from a luxury resort combined with your own home from home. A holiday here could well turn into the dream of buying your own property. From boutique shopping to expert medical care, community and health is at the heart of Vale do Lobo with a huge programme of activities from Pilates, yoga, meditation, trekking, cycling, and much more. Guests can take it as easy as they like - from relaxing in the sunshine by the pool, either at your house or apartment or the beach club; to a little more active, enjoying healthy outdoor activities of golf, tennis, running, and walks along the stunning red cliffs.

The resort boasts one of the largest tennis facilities in Portugal with 13 floodlit tennis courts, three floodlit panel courts, kids' mini tennis, two gyms and swimming pools. Guests can take lessons, partake in competitive doubles or just enjoy the sport with family and friends.

Similarly, the welcoming golf club allows both pro and novice golfers to enjoy the magnificent facilities of iconic holes and Atlantic views of the two 18-hole championship courses. The gold club regularly runs a full diary of tournaments and competitions.

It doesn't matter when you visit, there is always something going on. From families and friends to romantic breaks for two, the vibrant community feel means you can tailor your trip to suit whatever need you have. The Global Peace Index ranks Portugal as the 3rd safest country in the world and in Vale do Lobo, security, shuttle and medical services assure 24-hour peace of mind. Guests can make the most of the fantastic activities, family entertainment and dining options during their stay without any worries.

Activities aren't all fitness based either - focusing on the strength of community, purpose led activities include regular Beach CleanUps, supporting local food banks, and creative workshops such as pottery painting. This new concept strongly supports the need to build community-feel and make sure that there is always something to do at the resort. It speaks to the human need of belonging, connection and also boosts healthy habits.

The Praça is the place to be thanks to its wonderful beachside location and multiple dining venues including a creperie and roof top bar. Fish lovers will rejoice at the many fresh options from Grilled Seabass, Salt Baked Golden Bream, and marinated Salmon Poke; to traditional Portuguese stew, and Sandbanks Special Prawns in olive oil, butter and garlic.

The only thing that will lure your attention away from the culinary delights is the impressive view of the Algarve coast. Make the most of it by enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail at The Roof terrace bar just above Sandbanks.

Over at WELL, the new beach bar boasts a contemporary beach front restaurant serving vibrant local cuisine and sensational sushi, as well as a new Beach Club featuring adult and children’s pools, bars and beach services.

Inspired by the laid-back vibes of Bali, WELL is the most relaxing place to be in the whole of Vale do Lobo. Make sure you try the sushi - from the Wagyu Tataki and the fresh tuna truffle tacos, to sashimi, sushi and Soft Shell Crab tempura with Japanese mayo, salmon, leek and black tobiko - it's all delicious! While the innovative cocktails and comprehensive wine list make for perfect poolside beverages.

One of the latest additions beside the Praça and overlooking the Partee Mini Golf Course, is U&Co. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, U&Co, offers a great selection of meals, snacks, homemade cocktails and international wines, making it the perfect place to relax with all the family before you tee off or after the game.
