Orkney-based Sheila Fleet Jewellery creates stunning pieces inspired by the world around her, including her beautiful home island. Jewellery from the company can be personalised in many ways – whether incorporating a favourite gemstone or precious metal, or choosing a favourite colour of enamel. “A gift of rings or jewellery can often say much more than one can put into words,” says Sheila. “The time and place that it was given and received also creates special memories for every individual. Whether it’s up a mountain or on a romantic island, it marks that time and memory which is unique for everybody. We include an information card with every piece of jewellery, which describes the inspiration and story of each collection.”

All Sheila’s engagement and wedding rings are madeto-order too and can even be engraved with a special message. Many couples have also enjoyed visiting Orkney for a unique appointment to see their rings being created in the workshop by the sea. “This experience adds to their journey, whether it’s for their engagement or wedding rings. We often mark this occasion by taking their pictures with the craftsperson and capturing the moment for them,” Sheila explains. “We find that most couples still want to engrave something on their ring(s) to mark that special occasion. Each inscription is personal and unique to each couple – it marks a moment in time.”
