When you get married in Scotland you really are spoilt for choice. Couples from overseas are drawn by the spectacular scenery to elope here. While the tipis are wonderful in their own right, the lawns and gardens make for a pretty stunning backdrop to your vows. “Outdoor ceremonies are something we do really well,” says Amy. “We have beautiful oak bentwood chairs that we bring outside and refectory style tables for signing your register. Our staff bring drinks and food platters to you so if you’re outside we simply come and find you!” or outdoor ceremony up until the very day,” assures Amy. “We have ample staff and can move everything in or out if needed. This is very important to make sure the flow of the day is seamless, from ceremony to dinner and dancing.”
If outdoor vows aren’t possible, the tipis are a picture-perfect alternative.
“We have more than enough space for 120 guests for an indoor ceremony with twinkling fairy lights, stunning foliage and roaring fires,” says Amy.

We’ve had bell tents and tipple trucks, cocktail hours and gin pop-ups. We are not a fast and furious wedding venue with strict rules. It’s relaxed and at your pace. You have the whole weekend so you can really take time and enjoy every moment with friends and family.”

If the weather does stay fine though and you’re determined to celebrate outside, you’ll love gathering round the outdoor firepits. Amy says, “We keep the fires well-stocked throughout the day and night so you can listen to music, watch the sun go down, star gaze and toast marshmallows. It’s just magic.” You could even finish the night with a sparkler send off!
Weekend wedding
You know you’ve been to a fabulous wedding when you’re not quite ready to leave and at Hartree you can keep the fun going. There are three houses on the estate; the Penthouse, White House and Hartree Lodge, and lots of parties stay on the Sunday night. Amy suggests enjoying some downtime in the peaceful grounds, exploring the wildlife and walks with friends and family. She can even book out the local pub for a Sunday roast!
