What is a Rocket Ship

A rocket ship is a flying shuttle that can carry people into space.

Rocket ships help astronomers learn new things about space.

How does Nasa use Rockets?

Nasa uses rocket ships to send astronauts into space so they can tell astronomers information. Because of this, Nasa astronomers know a lot of information about space.

Nasa stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration

When was the First Rocket Ship launched into space?

In 1942 the V2 missile was launched by Germany. This rocket carried nothing but it was the first rocket to get to space.

The first rocket ship to take something to space was the R-7 TCBM, it took the Sputnik satellite to space.

Who has been in Space the Longest? The longest person in space was Russian Valeri Polyakov. He was in space for more than 14 months. Valeri was aboard the Mir space station.

Valeri Polyakov had a total of more than 22 months in space. He still holds the record for longest time in space.

First People in Space The first person in space was Russian Yuri Gagarin. He was a 27 year old test pilot and he went on the Vostok 1 on April 12, 1961.

The first female in space was Valentina Tereshkova, a Russian cosmonaut who flew on June 16, 1963.

Conclusion

Hopefully, this text informed you but there is one more fact to know. Did you know over 530 astronauts have been to space? Astronomers may have not know as many things about space without rocket ships, that’s why rocket ships are a big part in our human history.
