ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO YOUSRA URABI

ABOUT

A fresh architecture graduate who is committed to personal growth and is always looking for opportunities that would help me build a successful lever for myself.

Being an architect, aligns with many of my personal goals and values which helps me fulfill my role in making the world a better place for the people who are already suffering enough. I’m hungry for knowledge and I’m always willing to learn because I personally believe that the day you stop learning is the day you start moving backwards, therefore, I enjoy getting very involved in every stage of the design process from conceptualizing to drafting to visualizing and finally realizing the project.

This project was a collaboration with Aleksander Hatala from Poland and was designed in for the Tamayouz Design Challenge: 2020 Memorial.

CONCEPT

In 2020, an unexpected turn of events threw everyone off balance, and all of a sudden, we had to recalibrate to adjust to this new normal.

This monument, located in Park Sempione, in the heart of the Italian city most affected by this pandemic, Milano, is in fact just like 2020, seemingly unified at times yet interrupted and uneven due to the events that took place. The cut and change of form allude to the change of times in which we now function.
