Training for Young People
A bespoke training programme, Youth Act is for young people who want to learn how to campaign on issues in their local community. The programme covers a broad range of skills including lobbying and presentation skills and project management. Young people lead their Youth Act sessions by: identifying what issue they want to campaign on; deciding how to go about it; and actually delivering the campaign. The training equips young people with the skills to pursue active citizenship and political literacy. Young people work alongside supportive adults, providing a more equal partnership with local adults. No previous experience is necessary to be part of Youth Act - just a willingness to make change happen! For details on how to apply for Youth Act training, please see page 6.
Training for Adults
“If any organisation or adult is looking to engage with young people then Youth Act is the one for them! Mandy Ricketts, Youth Worker
The ‘Train the Trainers’ model works with local authorities across the country by training adults who have the remit to engage, participate and involve young people in active citizenship by delivering bespoke training to deliver projects in their local settings. Youth Act is a unique opportunity that provides intense skills training alongside interactive and visual activities. The program also fits in with a number of national priorities and is funded and supported by the Cabinet Office. Past participants have started delivering Youth Act in Stockton, Salford, Derbyshire and Coventry.
Available nationwide there is a range of training packages to fit your needs, time allowances and budgets. For more details about out packages, please see page 6.
