This book is about you, and the people God has put in your family. 3

In the beginning, God made the world. He made plants and flowers and animals and birds. Everything God made was good! Including the very first person: the man, Adam.

God made Adam in his own image and put him in a beautiful garden. Adam was happy in the garden and had fun with all the animals and birds. But God knew something was missing. 5

It wasn’t good for Adam to be on his own. So, God made a woman, Eve, and brought her to Adam. When Adam saw Eve he was excited! Here was someone who was just like him, but different from him too.

One of the most important differences between Adam and Eve was how God made the parts of their bodies that allowed them to come together and make babies.

DID YOU KNOW? Another word for the eggs inside a woman is ‘ova’! One ovum is as big as a grain of sand while a single sperm is about 40 times smaller!
