In the town of Capernaum, there lived a man who couldn’t walk. He longed to stroll down the street with the dust between his toes. Sadly, he had to lie on a mat all day.

But he had some very good friends. One day, they heard that Jesus was in a house nearby. ‘Jesus has healed so many people— I believe he can make our friend walk. Let’s go!’ said one of them.

They carried him to the house on his mat, but there was a huge crowd out the front. ‘Oh no!’ they cried. They could barely hear Jesus’ voice inside.

Jesus looked at the man intently. He knew this man had an even bigger problem than not being able to walk. Like everyone else in the room, this man had turned away from God and he needed to be forgiven.

‘Wow!’ ‘Hooray!’ ‘Far out!’, people in the crowd shouted as the man bounded past them towards the door. ‘God is amazing! We have never seen anything like this before!’
