lobby / telegraph view DEPTH OF SPACE The idea is based on compression and expansion of space, both in circulation and vista. The spartan workspaces and galleries employ the shifting, slipping, and subtle rotation of wall, ceiling, and floor to direct users through extended thresholds from one space to the next, maintaining a tight control on the spatial experience.

The site with 25’ narrow width, the challenge was to create a sense of openness by longitudinal corridor and expansion of space. Compression and expansion of space cause an illusion of depth wherein painting studio looks different depending on which stair one’s enter. While entering any space of the building, a window is located at every end of its destination. Windows offer diverse picturesque scenery of downtown and inspire the artists. double sided projector screen
