After decades of development, video games have become people's main activities for leisure. Even children who started playing video games have become elderly. Maybe the old playmates are no longer there, but we still have many possibilities in the virtual world.

In the era of electronic information, the way people entertain and socialize have changed a lot. The virtual world of the network is becoming more and more important to people. Among them, video games are the first safe haven created by people to escape from reality. Although as we grow older, our young playmates once walked away one by one, away from you, but in the future, with the convenience of the Internet and VR, we can still reunite in the virtual world and experience the games we played together again when we were children. The original intention of this project is to create a space where people can enjoy games to the fullest and regain childhood happiness with friends.

The site of the program was chosen opposite to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, Japan. The first reason is the prevalence of Japanese games and otaku culture. And the second is the immersive experience emphasized by theme parks such as Universal Studios, which highlights the connotation of the contrast between the virtual and the reality of the program itself. The last reason is that the location is far away from the Nintendo World. Nintendo itself is also one of the giants in the game industry, and it has a complementary effect on the game showroom functions of the program.

Rural Transformation

02

In the modernization process, the connection between Chinese villages and nature is gradually weakening. In the design, we tried to help people realize the traditional pattern of the village and their roots when crossing roadway.

Strolling between Mountain and River Traditional Chinese Landscape Concept

Site: Guangdong, China Year: 2021 Instructor: Lin Zhe, Feng Jiang. Teamwork: Yu Chunting, Huang Zhinan, Yu Jingwei. Role in team: I participated in the conception of the master plan, mainly responsible for the design of the waterfront node, pocket park node and waterfront planning belt.

However, the unrestrained vertically expansion has destroyed the pattern and the harmonious relationship between village and nature.

traffic flow and crowd trajectory

tourists vs. villagers

As a cultural village , the village lacks infrastructure and places for tourists, which cannot meet the needs of tourists. For the village itself, the existing communication space is not suitable for the scale of the village. On the other hand, the villagers also urgently need many improvement for their living environment. However, in Daling Village, the needs of tourists and the needs of the villagers have not yet been connected.

Ancestral Hall & Bathing Spot

03

Facing the surging wave of urbanization, Chinese ancestral halls are in an awkward position. How can we bring the ancient ancestral hall to life? This case attempts to use the tolerance and openness of water to make it "reborn in water".

Reborn in Water Modern interpretation of clan culture

Site: Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China Year: 2019 Individual work Building area: 825 ㎡ Main material: concrete, birck, glass, steel, tensioned membrane

the ancestral hall

As the main carrier of Chinese clan culture, the ancestral hall is not only a place for Chinese people to worship their ancestors, but also bears the role of maintaining the unity of the clan. However, with the process of urbanization, the former clan culture disintegrated, and the ancestral hall gradually faded out of people's vision and became a symbol of the old culture. In order to protect the ancestral hall, the government often manages it as a cultural heritage, or it is used to display the local traditional culture. But can such a "dead" ancestral hall be called an ancestral hall?

protect or destroy? Sorry father, cities have more oppotunities.

All young people are gone.

Only by revitalizing and using ancestral halls can more young people be attracted.

The ancestral hall is more suitable as an exhibition hall. The ancestral hall needs to be closed for management to ensure safety.

It is very warm to eat together in ancestral hall. The ancestral hall is the place of our daily life.

why water?

34

We can no longer go in and play like we did when we were children.

the site

The site is located in Xian Village on the east side of the second central axis of Guangzhou City. A few decades ago, this place was still deserted. However, in the rapid urban expansion, high-rise buildings rose up around this small village at the time, and even it was only separated from the most prosperous central business district in Guangzhou by one street. Such a sharp contrast forces people to think about the future of such a village. In this case, it was decided to start from the underground space and intervene in the renovation of the ancestral hall in the village in a low-key way. On the premise of preserving the existing spatial pattern of the village, the ancestral hall can be more attractive to tourists and bring changes to the ancestral hall to adapt to the requirements of the new era.

In the atrium of the original ancestral hall, a memorial gate that penetrates the ground and underground spaces is constructed in modern language.

6

The bar-shaped skylight through which the sunlight passes through the ground brings natural light to the bathing area.

42

43

Add a patio to the quiet worship space in the original ancestral hall to enhance the sense of sacredness.

7

In the underground worship space, the dome light and the swaying candlelight complement each other against the surface of the water.

04

In this plan, we emphasized the industrialization and generalizability of the construction system. Due to the adaptability of the plan, it will truly bring construction technology to the countryside.

The Bamboo Hut Low-tech and Generalizable

Site: Jiangsu, China Year: 2018 Material: bamboos, concret and screws. Instructor: Xiong Lu. Teamwork: Wang Qiong, Xiao Jun,Ou Qichen, Yu Chunting, Huang Yangfeng, Tan Qiyin, Huang Zhinan, Wang Jiaying, Chen Jianming. Role in team: I participated in the design of the surrounding environment of the site. At the same time, I was responsible for the mold design.

master plan The bamboo hut, located at the parking lot of the village entrance, carrys all the villagers’ imaginations about the "big tree at the entrance of the village": It is the node of daily rest, the area of convocation, the window for fruit exhibitions and the n a m e p l a t e f o r re c e i v i n g visitors. The integral concrete slab is used as a shelving system to shape the installation into a vigorous fruit exhibition platform.

SCI-ARC UNREAL 2.0 WORKSHOP

Year: 2021 Instructor: Elena Manferdini, Andrea Cadiol. Individual Work

Developed by Epic Games, Unreal Engine is the world's most advanced real-time 3D creation platform for photo-real visuals and immersive experiences. The theme of this project is "a city in a bottle", inspired by the famous American comic "Superman". In the plan, we pay attention to the invisible light-infrared light, which is invisible to human eyes, and expand the communication function of contemporary digital visualization, especially the use of color to define the unique power of the current era. And in the final result to simulate the future city. Video link: https://vimeo.com/656097692

CAMPUS THEATRE DESIGN Year:2020 Instructor: Feng Jiang, Lin Zhe Individual Work

This design topic selected the site on a hillside on the east side of the central axis of the campus, and its north and south faces two hundred-year-old buildings on the campus. In such an important campus site, how to deal with the relationship between the new theater building and other historical buildings will become an important issue.

56

In this regard, I translated the hero and heroine of a play "Leiyu" into the historical buildings on these two campuses. They have been facing each other in the past decades of history but it is difficult to touch each other. And the theater located between them is a response to the bumpy love between them.
