WATER GREEN Water Green is a set of outdoor furniture for gardening. By using the natural conditions of rooftop "wind and rain", It makes gardening easier and more convenience. Water Green includes three items: a table, a chair and a windmill light.
一套適用於屋頂綠化的戶外家具。利用頂樓得天獨厚的自然條 件：風 與 雨 水 ，讓 園 藝 活 動 更 加 輕 鬆 、便 利 。包 括 有 三 樣 產 品 ， 分別為集水桌、園藝椅與風車燈。

BACKGROUND We began discussing the problem by observing our living environments and gaining awareness of social issues. We used several methods so that our design could target the problem step by step. The following is an illustration of our process.

MOCKUP We made mockups to check the size and machanism, and considered scenarios to help designing the details.
製作草模來檢討尺寸是否合適，機構測試，模擬各種使用情境，以幫助修改、增加細部設計。

PROTOTYPING Our product has a big scale so it's hard vvvvto made the prototype model. We've visited many factories and considered manufactures and decided to make the prototype by vacuum forming. Some of the components are made by CNC technique. It took about two weeks to finish, thanks to the instructor so that we can go through this.
由於產品尺寸較大，因此模型非常不好做。我們找了許多間工廠、詢問各種加工方法，最後決定以真空成 型來製作模型主體，一些需較精密的機構零件使用 CNC 加工。感謝不厭其煩指導我們的模型師傅，我們 的模型才能完成。製作過程約耗時二週多，也成為我們印象深刻的經驗。

WATER GREEN Water Green is a set of outdoor furniture for gardening. Applying the natural conditions of rooftop "wind and rain", It makes gardening your green roof more easier and convenient. It includes three items: a table, a chair and a windmill light.

Table For watering plants, the table gathers rain drops in rainy days, and grabs moisture in the air when it's not raining. 1 雨天時，雨水由桌面的孔洞流入 2 冷卻的金屬板可使空氣中的水氣凝結，不下雨時也可繼續集水 3 桌面下方夾有致冷晶片，一面散熱，一面冷卻金屬板 4 將出水管拉出，輕轉即可取水

Chair
The chair can be taken apart. The upper chair would be a stool for gardening activities and the lower part is a storage for tools.
1 作為一般椅子使用 2 上下轉開後，底部可收納園藝工具 3 椅子上半部可作為小凳子，減輕雙腿負擔

Light
the windmill light is a power supplier which produces electricity with the wind for the table and lighting.
1 負責風力發電的簡易風車 2 儲存的電力可供集水桌的晶片使用，或其他用途 3 也可提供夜間照明

Scenario It's natural that we have an green life at our rooftop. The green roof can do what an iron roof do and has more advantages for the building and earth, but it's not popular in Taiwan. It prevents building from sun and rain damage and also brings us a natural place in the city. We made this project to help gardening activities on the roof and hope there will be more and more green roofs in Taiwan.

在頂樓擁有一片綠意是再自然不過的事了。
頂樓不只是一塊空地 它也是居住在水泥叢林裡、現代居民的院子 台灣的屋頂從高處放眼望去盡是鐵皮加蓋屋頂 若能妥善規劃，使其轉變為住戶的休閒空間 那麼不僅我們的生活更接近自然、放鬆身心 對城市來說更像是長出了一個個綠色的肺 所以從現在起，讓我們在頂樓還一塊綠地給地球，一同享受美好的綠生活！

PROBLEM STATEMENT 現今佈告欄大多使用圖釘與膠帶張貼公告，但是圖釘有可能會掉落在地上，在人來人往的空 間中造成刺傷的危險，膠帶的殘留也使公佈欄顯得髒亂不堪，另一方面，新的佈告常常直接 覆蓋在舊的文件上，除了造成閱讀不易，整理也花費許多時間與力氣。

MATERIAL & STRUCTURE
張貼布告處的表面採用軟質且具有韌性的塑膠 材質，在塑膠層後以網架支撐固定。
外框採用鋁質打造，以達到輕量化且兼具耐久 性，同時增加佈告欄結構強度。
下方的回收紙收集容器使用半透明霧面塑膠材 料，讓使用者可以清楚知道容器內的回收紙量 有多少，且不影響美觀。

GLUCOMETER Glucowatch is a glucometer designed for nurses and a watch as well. Easycarrying and elegance.

Problem Nurses check patients´ glucose level very often. Although the volume of traditional glucometer is small, there´s other stuff to be carryied like a lancing, test strips and documants for recording and causes inconvenience.
CONCEPT Every day nurses measure patiens´ vital sign, so wearing a watch is necessary. Glucowatch is a normal watch while not to be used in measuring glucose. When it´s needed, nurses can just insert the test strip and start to measure. the other steps and user interface is similar with the existing glucometer and it´s easy to use. Consider of fitting for male and female nurses´ wrist, the color is neutral and the size is both suitable for male and female. The side can be open to make waring more easier.

HOW TO USE 1 Insert the test strip, contact bars end ďŹ rst and facing up. Push it all the way until it will go no further. 2 Compare the code number on the meter display with the code number on the test strip vial. If the two code numbers match, you may begin testing. If they do not match, press the button to select the correct code. 3 Obtain a round drop of blood using the lancing device. 4 Touch and hold the drop of blood to the narrow channel in the top edge of the test strip. Keep holding the blood until the conďŹ rmation window is full. 5 After your meter counts down from 5 to 1, your blood glucose level appears on the display. 6 Turn back to watch by removing the test strip.

MINERAL Wooden Letter Opener In this design I tried to preserve the thick quality of wood, so I choose to make a chunky letter opener instead of a thin one. Without a blade-like shape, a razor blade will be in the slot, and the f o r m i s i n s i p re d f ro m n a t u r a l m i n e r a l .

OPEN STOPPER Bottle Stopper - silicon product design
Concept If you don´t drink up your wine, plug the bottle with this stopper to preserve it. Next time when you wanna have a drink, just open the lid of the stopper and pour it. It doesn´t take you so much strength as conventional bottle stopper, and you can plug the open stopper until you empty the bottle.

Tooth Mug - silicon product design
Concept M a ny p e o p l e s i n g w h e n t h e r e'r e s h owe r i n g . This tooth mug is designed in the shape of a retro microphone, so we can pretend it as a real m i c r o p h o n e a n d e n j oy o u r s h owe r. M a d e by silicon, easy-cleaning and also durable.

Practice In this summer intern, I practice in design department and do pattern design of pendant lamp. These pictures are taken at the 2011 lighting exhibition in Hong Kong. I was very excited when I recieved those picture form manager because it's the first product t h a t I d e s i g n e d m a i n l y. I lear ned a lot from this internship. ABOUT ME Hi I'm Yung-Hsuan, thanks for reading my portfolio and I hope you're enjoying it. :) I just graduated from NCKU (National Cheng Kung University), department of industrial design. I love both product and graphic design, having a open-minded and easy-going personality and always be willing to learn. In leisure time, I like to exercise or watch blogs about fashion and design, or go to an exhibition, also reading and cook. My favorite word is "Work Hard, Play Hard".
